Spring practice on a very hot day in Florida. A beautiful blonde comes up to Yogi just as he emerges from the air-conditioned dugout, and she says, "you are looking mighty cool". Yogi says "You ain't looking too hot yourself"
"It was impossible to get a conversation going. Everybody was talking too much." Sounds like today's political climate, doesn't it? He has a funny way of saying things, but he does know what he's talking about. It just takes us mere mortals a bit to catch up to him.
He's the closest thing to Shakespeare we got. A few years ago I said something and after I said it I was like, "my god, Yogi could have said that!" It really felt good. He's been a great one all along.
"You can observe a lot just by watching," and "It's not over until it's over" are arguably the two quotes he's best known for. Yogi was asked, "What do you want your tombstone to read?" and Yogi responded, "It's Over!"
R.I.P. YOGI. My favorite quote. Whan asked if he prefered to have his pizza cut into 4 or 8 slices. Yogi replied....."you better cut the pizza into 4 slices. I'm not hungry enough to eat 8".
When Casey Stengal was asked why he thought the Yankees would win so often he said, "I always play my man". The only player to play in all the years that Casey manged the Yankees was Yogi Berra. Yogi was Mr. Clutch.

" In theory there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is." That actually makes a lot of sense.
The future ain't what it used to be. Profound 😁
Love you Yogi: RIP. A great player and a philosopher.
My favorite quote of his was his reply to what time it was: "You mean right now?"
My wife always asks: What time is it now ? I wonder if she'll ever wonder what time it was then.
the most beloved man in sports history..just a wonderfull human being.sports today needs more yogis and less prima donas.
A great double talker...He makes you think, and then again...JRC.
.
No one better, truly a great American................
The only thing that could make this better would be if Mr. Berra were to read the quotes himself. Great job!
Met him a few times here in NJ and our conversations were filled with classic Yogisms...RIP

So funny and wise, like a modern day Confucius. RIP! Respect!
Yogi and Casey Stengel fully understood each other.
When getting a pizza, he's asked
"Do you want that cut into 8 slices?"
Yogi: "Better make it 10, I'm kinda hungry."
He is amazing!! I am doing a research project on him!!!

Yogi-ism - "A nickel ain't worth a dime anymore."
"If I could come up with these sayings just like that[finger snap], I'd be famous."
