  • I love sourdough and make just about everything I can with it! Not only is it delicious, but it is also important from a nutritional standpoint to properly prepare grains by sprouting, soaking, and souring them. These important processes make the grains more digestible and can greatly reduce or eliminate issues associated with the consumption or grains. Pizza dough, Pie Crust, and Pancakes, properly prepared and fully fermented are some of my families favorite things, I hope you will try these recipes and enjoy them too!

Thank you for talking about sourdough. I have been using sourdough for years! There's two steps; make the sponge then 12-14hrs later fold to rise again.

I have watched a few of your videos now and I'm so glad these traditional ways are not gone.

I don't currently have a video on it but enough people are asking I think I'll have to make one! I got my starter from a family member over 6 years ago now and you can purchase starters online but I'll plan to trial some methods for starting one from scratch and making a tutorial on it for you guys! If you want to buy a starter I did link one in the description from a company I've purchased lots of cultures from over the years!

Thanks for showing and make it simple and understandable! What wheat grinder did you use? We have a few grain buckets, but don't have a grinder.

I'm so glad you enjoyed this video! I'm using the Wondermill Jr Deluxe, I've had it for 3ish years now and use it almost daily. It's a great mill! One of my favorite things is that it also comes with stainless steel grinding stones and a masa auger so i can make peanut butter and fresh masa for tortillas with it and well! Anyway, heres a link for it if you want to give it a look - amzn.to/3SfUdXp

@@apinchofpatience Thank you! Vast majority what you show on your channel is almost the same the way my grandparents did. We all enjoyed the benefits of their old way of doing things, but didn't pay attention for details. Now, when they are in heaven and most of our society is weak mentally and physically - leaving modern, woke style of live forgot about roots, its hard to find in our country - based, grounded traditional values people/spouse with common sense.

Do you have any recommendations on how to start a sourdough starter from scratch? Or a good place to buy one? The Facebook sourdough groups are daunting places to hang out so any tips would be appreciated

I can bring you one! I have one linked in the description as well, I really like cultures for health as far as brands for starters. I've never started one from scratch so sadly no tips there but maybe I'll have to try sometime!

Yes! I really love both sweet and savory pies so an easy, fully fermented crust like this gets a lot of use in my house!
