  • Killer Mike joins friends Clifford “T.I.” Harris and David Banner for an honest conversation on the economic issues facing neighborhoods of color. The rappers-turned-businessmen share their personal perspective on the importance of buying back, rebuilding, and transforming those communities for the better. In the spirit of giving back, they also discuss the value in teaching kids how to better themselves, and the benefits of working a legitimate job instead of hustling.
The Complex Current miniseries welcomes the most influential minds in fashion, art, music, sneakers and beyond in a series of lively panel discussions from our inaugural ComplexCon Chicago. We discuss the topics most relevant to today's youth in an effort to examine a deeper understanding of each other, our culture, and the passions that inspire us.

Shout out to everyone who’ve watched this video, simply clicking on this shows that we are conscious members of our race, society, and hopefully a solution to the problem within our communities. Has anyone noticed how this video doesn’t have much views, because it doesn’t depict us black people valuing invaluable things like jewelry, cars, and irrelevancies. Shit sad, these three brothers are up there giving knowledge, but no one wanna hear that bull shit right? No, wrong my indigenous brothers and sisters! This is the truth, listen and take heed it all starts within you!

Ocra Joe it’s a metaphor, I’ve read the entire bible, and the New Testament several times. I know why Jesus went to the cross. His comparisons and metaphors makes sense to the point that anyone can understand it. If you’re humble, you’ll get hurt a lot.
“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

I think we've had enough rappers, athletes and entertainers as our spokesperson especially when we didn't elect, ordain or choose them by vote. We need people to STOP TALKING and START DOING. This conversation was about how these men help each other make more money and not about how to fix a community. If someone builds me a house that doesn't teach me anything but showing me how to build my own will. We have enough preachers hyping people up and literally doing nothing for them in ALL BLACK CHURCHES so a weekly series beyond a church would turn into hypothetically change with no person in place to measure the outcome. We need more black entrepreneurs and less blacks looking for jobs. Also @TheSmith Family they held back on a ton of information because this was a conversation about their growth, their prosperity and lining their pockets so there was no need for them to add more (Being Sarcastic)

However, I hate how people shouting Nipsey this Nipsey that after he passed. Alot of his music and videos receive more than double the views when he passed. This generation has too many dickriders.

I’m a successful black owned business, and I placed my business in the same hood same community that I came from, to give quality care to our babies, and quality employment for our people, because we deserve it. I love giving employment our people, but we have to learn as a unit of people that we have to want more for ourselves, our people are stuck, not all, but most. I have employed so many of my people, not only employed but offer full scholarships and lap tops through my business to send you back to school, but I can’t get our people to stay on the job more the 3 months to start the program that I offer, they either are terminated or leave because of lack of workmanship. You can only lead a horse to water, you can’t make them drink it. I want so much better for our people, but it’s hard trying to make them see it for themselves.. 🤦🏽‍♀️

@Mr. Marshall Actaully they are what is needed. See but they need to tell the youth no more rapping about killing and selling dope. Speak.of strengthing ones mind and unite. See our voice is heard. But reality is it not the right leadership. Its the community as well the parents and peers. Due to job streaking areas. We are deprived. We do not uplift without degrading. This is the black community. What I mean we may teach our youth to do right yet teach them to do wrong. The wrong is speaking on street stuff. I was told by another black person you need protection in these streets. If your not in a gang you have know protection. This what is taught consciously and unconsciously through the black experience. Through this protection you sell dope, is more like to be kill by your own and cops. Increase the the chance of being included in police brutality when its already high. On the other hand it preaches unite of coming together but it also separates brother, sisters, fathers, families in general due to interactions with the gangs. You are able to provide for family by selling dope etc. Don't get me wrong you don't need to be in a gang to sell dope. But doing it can lead to everything above just spoken on. Not all black people is of the streets. Some are bullied talk about pick on ashamed, if they do not follow the norm of their community. Basically saying they act white etc. If they try to uplift their community they are killed by others. Either white racist cop involved and black person or Just another street cat thinking he threatening his way of lift. In which he is only trying to help him. Truth be told black culture and community don't know what unite is without commenting acts of violence or hate.

These rappers are giving the next generation a privilege, a privilege to get advice from entrepreneurs and professionals with liquid assets. A privilege to not only witness advice from moguls and influencers, but a privilege to have a better connection with economic growth in our age than the last. Keep it up!

This conversation needs to be taking place inside high school and middle school auditoriums across the entire country. Black, White, Hispanic, and everything in between and beyond, the message of self responsibility, empowerment through knowledge, particularly economic and civic knowledge is how we take impoverished communities of all kinds to scrape out of the bottom and make change happens. VOTE, VOTE LOCAL, VOTE FOR PEOPLE THAT WILL FURTHER YOUR NEEDS IN YOUR COMMUNITIES!!
