My problem with FSD, is what if your Tesla gets hit in a wreck and is totaled. Or even damaged to the point you want to get a new one. That could really suck to have to pay for FSD again. It should be transferable.
Easy: They will revamp the model Y when all of the old model 3 parts are nearly used up by the current model Y. Then, the refresh will have to hit to make it easier and cheaper to have the same parts between both models.
When you put stalks back on, a display screen in front of steering wheel and a non glass roof option and a front camera. Can imagine how many people will line up to buy this car.
Stalks are still on the model Y. Thought I would hate the lack of them on the new 3 but it wasn’t that bad but still a downgrade. Agree on the other points though. BUT this thing is so cheap if you drive enough miles and can charge from home that it negates my gripes with it. No car is perfect.
@@colbyconner3206 it is a great price. I only need stalks for the model 3 cuz I have 3 older people driving my car and the learning curve might be too much.
Hahaha I ordered the new model 3 performance for those 3 reasons. I would of killed for a .99% finance rate but sill well worth the money, in my opinion.
Will never happen. At least not all of them. Glass roof will surely remain, makes manufacturing easier to have no option. Steer by wire will come sooner than bringing stalks back. And with steer by wire the indicator buttons will actually make sense, they are great in the cybertruck, bc you don’t have to rotate the steering wheel toouch
I really like my black interior with the "wood" trim (which is why I chose it) and don't care for the white interior (which is why I did not choose it). All a matter of opinion, of course, but I've heard a lot of reviewers say they don't like the "wood" and I just don't know why. It even feels good to me texture wise.
I have the white interior and love it. Only thing I hate is that white strip on the dash, while it looks nice, it’s too bright in direct sunlight. I prefer the wood strip myself.
The Quicksilver looks really sharp. Good to have more options and I agree that the colors should cap out around $1,000 extra. We’d see more variety across the fleet that way.
Got the quick silver last Saturday at .99% in Quick Silver with the white interior. Kept our 2018 M3 RWD LR in silver as well. Funny seeing these side by side.
We recently stepped up from our ‘21 MY with 20” Induction wheels to a new ‘24 MYP. The suspension on the ‘21 was jarring compared to the new P. Three things stick out. The ride quality is much better (yes, even with low profile 21’s), the new Y is much quieter inside and the ‘24 has tighter build quality. Every panel is aligned perfectly and I’m one OCD dude. Not one squeak or rattle in the vehicle over 4k miles of driving. Two thumbs up!
We got an AWD one last week; great value per se and amazing value at 0.99%. Agreed, best value for the money under 50k. Other than the wood trim, I don't find anything to dislike. Oh, and I have a 4Rrunner well modded for offroading, so best of both worlds:)
If you do 72 month finance the rate is still 0.99 % ! This is incredible offer. I listed my gas car for sale and if someone buys it before end of May, I will order a Y. Wish me luck.
I saw on an X post yesterday by someone going to pick his Cybertruck up, said that the sales representative said things had been crazy lately. When he asked why things had been crazy, he said they it's because of the .99% interest rate offer. Anecdotally, there have been appointments pushed back because of this too. We'll see if there's been a jump in Y orders in early July.
FYI, I purchased enhanced autopilot with my 2023 MYLR (cost - $6k). When I looked at the price of FSD it was only $2k. I must have gotten credit for the autopilot purchase.
The only reason I can see a refresh Model Y sooner (2025) is because of the amount of parts that are shared with the Model 3. Curious to see what kind of update on 8/8 with the robotaxis and what kind of manufacturer scaling will take place. Also, I'm still curious to see when the hell the Roadster 2.0 will come out.
I was thinking early 2025 in the US but my concern is that Tesla is going very intense on AI and the robotaxies for the 8/8 event this year so not sure if they'll put a lot of focus on refreshing MY right now. And even when they release it, I think MYP will prob take some more months before they release that (similar to how they did Model 3 Performance).
I bought my Tesla Model Y Long Range in December 2021…Absolutely love it. The key is Tesla has the most reliable charging network. I retired and live in central Mexico… Tesla supercharges everywhere I go. My friend has a Volvo and another friend has BMW, hard to find a reliable charging network, usually non operational.. both US and here in Mexico…
Interesting to hear your comments re: build quality and ride quality improvements. I test-drive a base Model Y in '21 but ended up choosing a different EV because of those two issues, but with the 0.99% financing offer test drove again, found both noticeably improved, and bought it for my mom!
I’d even be fine if they pulled a BS surcharge similar to a cell phone operator like a $99 fee to transfer it to another car (obviously the new vehicle must be in your name)
I have been running into that parking problem too. Every time.. without fail, I got to use the parking feature and someone instantly shows up! Ugh! As for the color, it's not quite a bright enough silver for me.

We have a 2023 MYP bought in Dec '23 with Inventory discount, and the full Tax Credit, but the high 6.9%. We talked to Tesla about trading in our 5 month old MYP, but Tesla had devaluated it so much, it was not worth it to get a new car at .99% and all the extra fees. Good deal for those that have not purchased a Model Y yet.
Just curious if you have reviewed an electric ford lighting. You are probably the most honest reviewer I have watched about the cars. I am considering a 23 lighting or a model y. The ford lighting will be more useful, personally, but I have a large family, so the 7 passenger model y, will be more family friendly. Thanks in advance! Great videos!
The 0.99 percent was just too good to pass up. I bought the quicksilver in the exact trim you were test driving. I actually prefer the faux wood grain dash to the white. They just added black Gemini wheel covers as an additional $500 option yesterday.
Is it? because even if you parked all your cash in a safe asset like say one of the good savings accounts out right now (no risk) that are offering 4.5% APR+ and then just paid the monthly payment from that account and didn’t touch funds from anywhere else. So for example let’s say you financed 40,000 and put $40,000 cash in the savings account. Your payment would be $570 month on the 72 month deal. Month 1 you gain $150 and the payment is 570. Making your first payment effectively $420 Now the benefit would slowly dwindle over time but at the end of the 6 year term you would have gained $6933 in savings interest and lost $1216 in car loan interest netting you a total gain of $5717. More importantly you would have had most of that cash in your back pocket for quite some time in case shit happens in the future. In fact you wouldn’t even dip below $10k in that account until about month 55/56 of the 72.

Yeah the SSD price is a weird one… my take on is that if I buy car now and pay $8000 for it if the car does become fully autonomous during the time I own it it will make it worth a whole lot money on the secondary market provided Tesla keeps its promise that the FSD stay with the car for the life of the car.I can almost guarantee that once autonomy is realized it’s not going to be $99 a month it’s likely going to be so expensive you would have to use the car to generate income to justify the price of it.
Is the stock negative rear camber intentional, needed to avoid oversteer? Does zeroing the rear camber cause it to be prone to oversteer in emergency maneuvers?
I don't think, imo, your reasoning for a 2026 Juniper refresh is based on much if any logic. 7 years for the 3 when the exact same improvements are likely for the Y. The Shenxing Plus battery from CATL could be the holdup. Maybe use that for future pitches. Of course, that's an even stronger reason to wait.
0% in the Uk right now. Cheaper for me to swap out my 2022 MY than keep for another 3 years. Pick up new one tomorrow- MYLR quik silver. 3 days from order to pickup
FSD should attach to your account and it should act as an "immediate family" account; when you go on a trip and get a rental, fsd should be with you. Your wife and kids who live in the same house should get access, if you buy 4 teslas for the family you should only need to buy FSD once. FSD should also be detachable from your account.. When you sell? you should be able to click "include fsd in sale" and it removes the fsd from your account.
The reason I won't buy FSD is because it won't go to the next car. We upgraded our five seater to a seven seater with an additional $5k inventory discount and likely wouldn't have done that had we shelled out the cash for FSD. Ironically, I may have bought it at the $12k mark if it was transferable.
I wanted the Y, it is better suited for my 6'4" large frame, but the ride, handling and suspension changes of the new Highlander Model 3, were night and day and so I got the 3 instead. Both the 2023 Model 3 and 2024 Y have ride handling is just horrible in comparison.
The less demand there is for the current model, the more incentives will be offered, and the faster the refreshed model will arrive. It appears as though monthly sales have flattened at about 33-35,000 units (37k in Mar for the end of the quarter push). If Tesla is happy with that volume, then they have no incentive to roll out the refresh. No matter how disruptive and "cutting edge" and "innovative" they might be, they still follow the basic economics of vehicle manufacturing and sales.
Unfortunately, the features that would make it more attractive to conquest buyers will likely never be offered (instrument panel, USS, steering wheel stalks, auto wipers that work like auto wipers should). That will limit the appeal of Teslas to those who are not already Tesla customers.

Lets go! Congrats
@@Gjeebs it’s a RHD Giga Berlin car. Seems few cars now coming into Europe from Shanghai
Quicksilver is not available on the Tesla website. Correct?
It it but you have to select the performance or long range models. not the standard
Do you live somewhere, where you have cold weather? Or below 0? These are the only things that is stopping me from getting a Tesla,
FSD should attach to your account and it should act as an "immediate family" account; when you go on a trip and get a rental, fsd should be with you.
Your wife and kids who live in the same house should get access, if you buy 4 teslas for the family you should only need to buy FSD once.
FSD should also be detachable from your account..
When you sell? you should be able to click "include fsd in sale" and it removes the fsd from your account.
I work for Tesla… juniper coming very soon
The reason I won't buy FSD is because it won't go to the next car. We upgraded our five seater to a seven seater with an additional $5k inventory discount and likely wouldn't have done that had we shelled out the cash for FSD. Ironically, I may have bought it at the $12k mark if it was transferable.
Are they going to bring this color to M3?
I like the quick silver but not at $2k. The monthly self driving would be well worth it for me as I drive 2500 miles per month.
😂 the trump impersonation makes a comeback 😂
Juniper needs to launch in the first half of 2025, in Shanghai, at least, to remain competitive.
This looks nice
Quite frankly, it’s worth a lot
Test drove one today. Doing more research today in SoCal my electrical cost is .50 Kwp the math doesn't work...
Yea if your electricity is that high that stinks
You can now order 19" wheels worth black rims and wheel covers
I would wait for the refresh. I went from a model 3 to a 2024 model Y and it has a lot of rattles…build quality not so good.
I wanted the Y, it is better suited for my 6'4" large frame, but the ride, handling and suspension changes of the new Highlander Model 3, were night and day and so I got the 3 instead. Both the 2023 Model 3 and 2024 Y have ride handling is just horrible in comparison.
40K model Y, more like 56K before tax credit, if you get dual motor extended range and upgraded exterior color and white interior.
I think March '25 is realistic, it's what I have been expecting. Guess there's only one way to find out if it will be the case. 😁
Yea we just have to wait. I don't trust anything until it is on Tesla's site
I loved the Trump imitation that you did at 25 sec in the video. Love it!
My Unplugged springs squeaked
Should not charge for paint unless it is really special. silver, black and white are not special.
I'm $20k negative equity on my 2022 Model Y Performance, I bought at the absolute worst time 😔
