leoeoeoeoe to me it seems to speak volumes, in octave and quantity, to the levels of the pain/ abuse/spiritual dissonance/ confusion experienced at that point in time in life; the chosen coping mechanism drugs (could be any other addition or subtraction of a stimuli) which moves them nearly in every other way out of balance, it still can not delete the memory of the impactful moment that created a space for “spice.” A substance that alters her behavior, speech, appearance, daily life, can not alter that memory and the clarity of its delivery. Also can be said that one thing alone for healing or coping is not likely to be very successful. (FYI I don’t think spice in anyway is healing, that’s just my opinion)

@xisobelx373 It's so crazy that you said that about breeding licenses, but it's so true. The fact that anyone can have a child is absolutely terrifying. With the mental illness, addiction, and just absolute insanity running rampant in this world, I can't even imagine the atrocities some of these children, especially in the foster system, have had to endure. Sterilization should be a thing, too. It's radical, but honestly, so damn needed.

@@hardmoney8560 - Every word you wrote about this woman s absolutely correct. But, I’m going to stand up for CA as I was born and raised here. She need help as a little child. Her family was severely screwed up, so none was provided either when she was little, or through the years. But as an adult, had she wanted help, there is help. I speak from my many old years of living here, and watching things go down. She could have help this minute, but she seems way too sick to ask for it. What’s left of her probably once wonderful mind was on it’s way to destruction from the age of five, as she described that’s when the abuse began. And, sh says she has no family connections now, and it’s likely that might a good thing. But where she lives no? There isn’t a person there able to help her, let alone themselves. Then, parenthetically and tragically, there are those who just fall through the cracks. This woman’s family should have been locked up many years ago, but there, possibly, there are many cases where a neighbor might have made a call. However, neighbors often (and this ticks me off) “don’t want to get involved”. Bad people do bad things. This country seems to wish to “just move on”. It is, every bit of it, heartbreaking.

I was thinking the same while watching this. Now her family is all gone and all she has left are friends... hopefully some that are not also addicted to something? But likely not. And this breaks my heart.
After all the trauma and then coping by herself... still not forgetting the trauma and all the loss... after all that... I'm certain that she also now copes with people shaming or making fun of her. At very least not taking her seriously which can be scarring in and of itself. What's sad is that eventually that kind of stress and trauma breaks a person so deeply that they dissociate some of it away. The blank but somewhat wounded stare she has in the photo really impacted me.

@@ilda89 Speed usually refers to amphetamine, similar to what's in ADD meds(Ritalin, Adderall, etc.) Spice used to be a popular brand of "smoke blend" which is basically some organic matter (Damiana leaf, tea, whatever herb they want) sprayed with a solution consisting of some synthetic cannibinoid (jwh-018,am-2201, etc) dissolved in acetone. The part that gets you high is basically thc or some other cannibinoid that's been heavily modified in a lab. So no it's not speed, nor related in anyway. I think those bath salts that used to be sold legally in the same shops that sold spice were modified cathinones, which would make it something like a synthetic speed but I could be mistaken as I've never looked into them much.

We need to decriminalize everything, and implement mass rehab programs. Even a lot of the rehabs are contributing to the problem. Whether it's malice, or just shearly unattainable due to it being well over $10,000 in many cases. This is crushing to watch, God bless her. If a genie granted me three wishes, I would wish for ALL people like Andrea to have a chance to be born again, and live a new life with no suffering or pain, only every joy in life. I know what it's like to grow up with trauma, my childhood was riddled with confusion, unrest, violence, alcoholism exposure and physical abuse. My psychiatrist is an expert in neuroscience and explained how these experiences literally damage the brain. They stop/wildly interfere with development and in my case damage my frontal lobe. I have several diagnosed personality disorders and cannot regulate my emotions without medication. I struggle daily with compulsion and impulse control and so understand all about addiction.
Why am I divulging all this? Because people need educating. NEVER judge an addict. You have NO IDEA what they have been through. Remember this: the brain is an organ, no different than any other in the human body, it can be damaged and therefore it's function can be greatly altered. Please, next time you see someone like Andrea on a bus, or begging on a street corner, give a thought to how they may have ended up there.

An addict is never just a normal, trauma free, happy person that got bored one day, there's always going to be *something* absolutely broken inside of them. It's very unfortunate that the majority of society just looks down on them rather than offering a hand, but I DO also know that sometimes the hand you may offer may just turn you into a vessel they can manipulate in order to get what they want. As someone who was addicted to spice/K2 for 3 full years the addiction is like no other, I've been addicted to pure fentanyl, liquid morphine, meth pretty much everything other than crack and Coke but I legit couldn't go more than 15 to 20 minutes without a hit of K2/spice or I would get severe stomach pains ,horrible thoughts and intense temperature fluctuations. Would wake up every 20-30 min out of a dead sleep and wouldn't be able to go back to sleep unless I got another good hit or two in and don't get me started on the mental health effects because it made me full blown agoraphobic the whole time I was on it and a year after. Still recovering from it and haven't touched it in 5 years doctors say I might never be completely normal again but at least I can function and live a productive life with some family that still loves me!!! Spice is no joke. Bought what I thought was weed when I was a teenager. Never did any drug in my life up to that point. Smoked a whole lot of it over two sessions.
Next thing I know, I black out completely and it takes a month to gain back my lucidity and sense of reality.
I still don’t know what happened during that month, only that when I fully gained back my conscious thought, I was on suicide watch in a mental hospital for adolescences, not knowing how I got there.

yeah, I know people that were personally harmed by that stuff. glad the craze is mostly over. hurt a lot of people that would generally just be "potheads" or whatever. spice was also a very blanket term too. it could've been a list of numerous synthetic cannabinoids.
