I loved this show as a kid. Family affair was a great show was so sad to know Buffy lost her life. I loved Brian Keith & cissy was a beautiful big sister. I just loved family affair & all the actors / actress No I didn't know about his deug issues but glad he got help & got off of them

It was a good show, but it ended rather strangely.

A Family Affair was one of my favorite TV programs when I was a child. I'm glad to hear that Johnny Whitaker was finally able to defeat his demons and start helping others with the same issues or worse. It's a Damn shame, Buffy played by Anissa Jones died of a overdose at such a young age prayers go out to her family and friends

I loved this show! Brian Keith was quite the heartthrob and my mother was not immune. One of her sisters lived next door to his mother in Covina, California. So, she became acquainted with Brian. Mrs. Keith was a dear and had a bit of a career in Hollywood in the early part of the 20th century. Mom was dying to meet Brian and it looked like we would have our chance during one of our Summer visits to California. Brian was going to take us to a taping of an episode of A Family Affair! We were both SO excited but something came up and, being just a child, I can’t remember if it was a personal or a show biz thing that cropped up and cancelled our on set visit. We were crushed! But a few years later my brother arranged for us to attend a taping of That Girl! I couldn’t get over how pale and small Marlo was…and that HUGE brunette hair-do! She came over and chatted with us for a few minutes and signed a head shot for us. Her smile was just stunning and she was SO sweet! It was a good day

@@FactsVerse Ooo that’s a difficult question! I loved the one (Pilot mabey)? Where the kids meet Mr French. Jody asks who is he & Buffy says “he’s the Maid”!!! The look he gives em is Hilarious!! He’s sweet but a bit Uppity & refers to his job as a “Gentleman’s Gentleman” Great show I use to never miss it!!✌️

Johnny Whitaker went to the same middle school I went to, Olive Vista Middle School, in Sylmar, CA. I only saw him once there though, and the kids there were just all over him. I felt sorry for him but he handled it very well.

Great show, one of my favorite as a child! So much pressure for children, so sad!! Happy to hear he's back on his track & helping others with his story, I am sure he has been able to help many. For Anisa such a tragic story! working with children as I have, never ceases to amaze me that kids have no adults around them to be a mentor, guidance, etc to lean on, after so much fame so early, and always being told yes, then it becomes no...so tragic. Truly a tragic story, that could of been prevented. Hollywood isn't for kids. Ty for sharing.

Wow it’s a blessing that John Whitaker survived his substance abuse. I also deal with an addiction with substances but I found Jesus. I also believe that it was a curse and a tragedy that young girl who played his sister on “FAMILY AFFAIR” died so young of a drug overdose. At the age of 18 how tragic!

Big fan of the show, grew up watching it, glad that Johnny Windtaker got clean and is helping others with there drug problems, my self I a drug awareness officer and practitioner and promote for drug and crime prevention seminars and functions..
He's about 6 years older than me so I grew up watching him. I remember Family Affair when I was very young. Tom Sawyer is still my favorite movie from childhood & still like watching it. I was going into 2nd grade when it came out & starting to like girls & Jodi Foster at the time was my 1st Hollywood crush. Also, in the mid 70's every Saturday my sibs & me would never miss Sigmund & the Sea Monsters.
I remember meeting him in the late 1960’s in Spokane Washington. He and his family attended the church my family went to.

I was just confirming my understanding of Anissa Jones auditioning for the role of Regan in The Exorcist and along with Pamelyn Ferdin they were both considered "too recognizeble" due to other roles they played. Also Denise Nickerson - Violet from Willy Wonka was going to try out but her parents were disturbed by the storyline!
I knew about the little actress who played Buffy. But I didn’t know about Johnny Whitaker and his problems with drugs. Seems like too many actors get involved with drugs and drinking. And at a young age! I’m so happy he’s still around and that he’s helping others.
Family affair was my favorite shows. I still have my Mrs. Beasley doll.

I thought that Johnny Whitaker was great in Sigmund and the Seamonsters. I remember hearing him say that he insisted on being called Johnny on the show, because he got tired of being called Jody from family affair. He was a great actor. I think that child startum to a toll on him. Great video.
He maybe 63 BUT you still can tell who he was. He has that same face, even though he has grown up
I didn't know of Johnny's Drug additions and BTW Scott C. Kolden as he's credited in Mystery in Dracula's Castle also played Johnny's Younger Brother before he did in Sigmund and The Sea Monsters.

My family and I always enjoyed A Family Affair when I was a kid and was shocked that Anisa Jones had died from a drug overdose. I remember Johnny's other shows he was in as well and am happy that he got clean of the drugs that affected his life. Acting in Hollywood for a young person seems to take a toll on many especially if they don't have a balanced parental guidance in their lives to keep them safe from the influences that Hollywood has. Dana Plato is another young actress who could have used Johnny's help with her drug problems but unfortunately she died from an overdose while living in her parents RV. I wish Johnny luck in his future and thanks for the entertainment but especially what he's trying to do for addicts today.

There’s no way he could be 63 years old. If I had a guess his age it would be in his middle 70s alcohol and drugs really miss him up especially his face.

Whitaker washed his clothes once when I was there at the laundromat, a long time ago. He was still easily recognizable but I wouldn't know him by his pictures now.

Family Affair was a wonderful show, my favorite actor was Mr French in that show & of course Judy and Buffy 2 of the cutest child stars in that show.loved it.

No, that’s not right. She was found dead in a friend’s house. She had overdosed on several drugs.
Why do these narrators constantly use the word "iconic" when they mean " famous," and "challenging" when they mean "Difficult?"

And the rest of the druggies have no excuse and get locked away with real criminals. Yeah, something wrong with the system, but how else would they get their money?
