- Kathy Garver began her stellar acting career when she was a toddler starring alongside film legends including Charlton Heston, Eve Arden and Susan Haywood. She had a recurring role on The Patty Duke Show and then came the show that would make her a star - Family Affair. She played Cissy alongside Brian Keith, Sebastian Cabot, Annisa Jones and Johnny Whitaker. Kathy takes us behind the scenes and shares stories of the happy set and the tragedies that struck the cast after the camera stopped rolling. Kathy is still in demand in Hollywood and busier than ever. She opens up about her two current film roles and her next project - plus where is Mrs Beasley - Kathy shares that story.

Wow she is so beautiful!! I remember watching Family Affair as a kid, and I loved the show. I wish we still had wholesome shows like that one.

You could tell, from the very first episode, how much Brian Keith LOVED children. He had tears lots of times throughout the scenes. He absolutely adored these three children!
I can say that when I met Charlton Heston in person when I was 11 years old. He was the nicest, most polite person I had ever met. I was with my parents on top of a hotel in Las Vegas and we were people watching. There was a mini-golf up on the roof and Mr. Heston was there playing with his family. Like a thoughtless kid. I ran up to him and interrupted him with his family to talk to him. He stopped, talked with me. This was in the early 1970s and I had watched planet of the apes and the omega man and told him how much I liked them. What a great guy and a wonderful memory.
Brian Keith was just perfect for that role, hands down! Am happy Glenn Ford turned it down!😀

I just saw her on a commercial!! And immediately made the connection. Loved the show, I wished I could get adopted by a kind uncle and have a better life.
I looked up to her like MY older sister, as my real one and i dont have a very good relationship. I recall 'OH CISSY, PLEASE KISS ME!' being sung to her. Always beautiful.
Its amazing how she still looks exactly the same as she did on Family Affair! Of "purs older but her features haven't changed. WOW, shes still just as beautiful as ever.
Kathy you are so Right Cissy was AWESOME!!!!!! She was such a Staple of the show because she was the link between Uncle Bill and Mr. French........... and Then the kids like a bridge so she was a Big HELPER always!!!!!!! Also fun to see her character grow as well!!!!
There's defitnetly times in the series when it really pulls on your heart strings.Its also so sad the way Bill Davis, Giels French and Buffy s lives played out in real life

I grew up in the age of Family Affair and I always loved Kathy in her role as Cissy. It pleases me so much to see a well grounded and wonderful lady. Seems she has lived a truly blessed life!

When Family Affair came on television I had a crush on Kathy Garver, I was a 13 year old teenager back in the fall of 1966. Her acting on Family Affair was great. The entire cast on Family Affair was great.
Family Affair was part of my childhood. And we had the pleasure of meeting Kathy at a convention. She’s a sweet, beautiful & interesting lady.

I always had a crush on Cissy (Kathy) back in the 60s, but I was around the twins age so she was too old for me! Nice to hear that she is a very nice person!
I saw her in a tv commercial for a phone for seniors recently. I couldn’t remember where I knew her from at the time but now I remember! I watched that old show a lot in the 70’s when I was little.
In the past few months I started watching Family Affair. I remember loving it as a young girl. I still love it. Brian Keith is so admirable. And Kathy, you truly are as beautiful now as you were then. Sensational really!
Forever a part of my 60s childhood TV viewing, she looks good and so glad she is still with us, "Family Affair" a part of the Golden Age of TV, I'd gladly watch reruns of this instead of the "garbage " that passes for TV today...

This interview made me so happy! I think I just assumed Kathy had passed or gone down the addiction road like so many others. But she is alive, well, and clearly has her head on straight, thanks mostly to good parents apparently. I remember how pretty she was on Family Affair. I'm so glad she was able to find success and happiness after the show.
My sister and I loved watching Family Affair every week! Back in the 1970's my family and I went to Disneyland and my dad said "hey, isn't that the guy who plays the father on Family Affair?" Yes, it sure was! Brian Keith and his kids were walking around Frontier Land having a great time. I wish we had gotten Mr. Keith's autograph.

This is such a treat. I loved Kathy Garver when I was 9 years old when "Family Affair" began. I should say in love. How could a little boy not have a crush on this beautiful girl?

Loved this interview.I loved Family Affair when I was a little girl. I was such a fan my dad bought me the outfits from Buffy's clothing line. Oh and I had a Mrs Beasley doll. Kathy Garver is still beautiful.
I saw the 'Family Affair' clothing at LEVYS department store in EL CON MALL in Tucson,az. We didn't but any though. Kmart and Sears, and resale, was more our speed.
I grew up on Family Affair and related to Jody buffy and sissy aka Kathy and Mrs.Beasley was my favorite Doll ❤

I loved this interview! Although I thought her short comment about Johnny Whitaker was very insensitive....I dont have a cat in the fight as they say....but I was shocked at her age she couldn't muster up a kinder answer to the guy whose struggled and has survived it!!!

Great to see this interview with Kathy Garver. She’s looking great! Never knew she was a Meglin Kiddie. I was for a long time, too, but about six years before Kathy, up until the time Ethel Meglin retired. Also a busy child actress, it’s too bad our path’s didn’t cross.
Btw, interesting that we both worked with Shelley Winters. My experience was very different with her. I was seven, and played her daughter in an episodic tv show. Ms.Winters continually complained about her lines, the camera angles, and even the red color of one of the cameraman’s shirts, which distracted her!

Nice interview. Ms. Garver is financially smart and, it seems, one of those actors with the golden touch. The Rapper M.C. Lyte is also career and financially smart like Ms. Garver.
Younger performers need to view this You Tube and read her book to learn how to survive show business while enjoying long fruitful careers.
