It's so wonderful to see a groomer that is so caring during the COVID19 situation. Our regular groomer was closed for manymany months. Finally in desperation, we went to aa groomer that was open. Not a good experience. When our regular groomer reopened we immediately made an appt. We did tell her that our dog had been cut one time by someone closer to our house. We didn't realize that she was outraged and offended by this. She waited until a couple of hours before the appointment and cancelled it, then went on Facebook and complained about us and the nerve we had expecting she would go back to cutting our dog, and telling everyone how she cancelled with us at the last minute. She thought it was hilarious. Groomers need to realize that when people are desperate and their dogs really need to get cut, they will go to someone else who is willing to do it. Now I don't go to any groomers. I bought all of the tools, clippers, etc. and through trial and error have learned to do it myself. Thank you for these helpful videos. Note: I'm not panning all groomers. If there was one near me I could trust, I would take him there.
Not only should your groomer realize you were desperate, but you do not need an excuse to try out somewhere else. You are the customer. We are mobile dog groomers, and while we do have rules, not 1 of the rules is you must use our services everytime, for all we know our clients may go back to a shop groomer then back to us when they feel like it.
You had the right to take your dog wherever you want. I'd never take my dog back to that groomer NOR would I recommend that groomer! Nerve and bad business to go on Facebook and complain about a client.
Best nail trimming instruction ever. I never saw the vet or anyone position the foot like that. My two setters don't like pedicure time, but they tolerate it. Using your advice, they were calm and cooperative, no pulling their feet away. Thank you! I just found you and am really enjoying all the videos.
I appreciate you Amy Leigh! My dog, which just came into my life after my father passed, is like Harvey, a Brussels Griffon. I am learning sooo much from you, thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU!
Loofa! What a brilliant tip. My bearded collie is a pistol to groom, and now I am without a groomer, so it is DIY all the way. He just got his first bath yesterday with the loofa, and he was so good, and the soap went a long ways. Even his face and beard were easy to clean with the loofa. I don't know if he "liked" it, but it made it so easy to wash and rinse him. Thank you!
Thanks so much for the information. I used your method on my rescue dog. After just 2 washes (1-week apart) using your method and recommended products I no longer have to vacuum 2x/day and dog is no longer making the entire house smelly. I had previously washed her at home 3x and taken her to get professionally groomed but floors were full of fur a few minutes after getting back home and smelly after a couple of days. I found a dog wash station as you recommended and my back is very thankful plus I didn't have to spend 2 hours cleaning up afterwards! Thank you 🙏🏼 You are appreciated ❤
Oh my gosh!!! I have a very white doodle and the luffa truck was the best thing ever!!! I swear she washed easier and whitened up better then washing her by hand twice! I forgot to brush first but it was still the best wash ever. Oh and the dilution trick! Your amazing! Thank you!!!
The week before my golden retriever whelped, I needed to clip her tummy to clean up the milk bar area. I was terrified that I was going to clip off one or more of her milk taps 😳 My groomer friend assured me that was not going to happen. She was right! No teets were buzzed off and mommy dog really enjoyed the extra attention. I was afraid for no reason 😊 All went well and the 7 newborns can easily nurse at a tidy milk bar
Thank you for your straight forward, fun help with grooming during this shutdown!!! My Havanese is so docile and sweet! It’s difficult not having the table and all the proper equipment. But your videos are very helpful! Thank you
Thank you for the crash course video on home dog care and things to remember! Years ago when I first started to use a groomer for my new rescue dogs, she said that she could tell that I brushed my dogs out and that really encouraged me to continue to care for them in between visits with her. Sadly, she no longer grooms. Thanks for encouraging us who want to care for our own dogs at home during this COVID-19 crisis!
I’ve just found this video...💕 THANK YOU, 🤗 THANK YOU 💕...this is absolutely the best information I have found any where to help me with how to groom my dog. I’ve learned some amazing new tips here, you made this down to earth, so easy to understand and I am ready to groom my little dog now. You are amazing, big hugs to you for sharing this. Be safe out there everyone and all our lovely pets too 🤗
I just found this video and wow it done wonders on my bathing my poodles. Their hair is so curly water , shampoo just runs off. I tried it with the loofah and what a change it made. It was a lot easier and my babies just loved it. I am now a new subscriber. I want to thank you for sharing this and taking the time to make the videos. Our pets thank you 💞
Why thank you for this helpful information. We have a new pooch. Chihuahua and Dashund mix. 4 years old. We love her and want to do all of the required grooming for her. The previous owner took immaculate care of her.
Wow!!! You are a breath of fresh air!!! Your techniques are wonderful!!! You do it all so well it seems almost effortless!!! The dogs totally trust you. 🤗 That, for me, is the biggest hurdle!! My little dog will not be still for face trimming or nail trimming!!! He manages to get his paws away from me no matter how I secure him. With his face, I am so afraid I am going to poke him in the eyes! Thank you so, so much!!!!! You have a new subscriber!!! You are the best "Grooming Specialist" I have ever seen!!! Thank you again!!!!! 🤍💚🤍
Thank you so much for doing this!! I so appreciate your knowledge, advice and know how. Your videos are giving me confidence and some great recommendations on products and techniques. My dog Otis (5 lb Yorkie) and I love the videos and think you are so funny - we will keep watching. Thanks again from a fellow PA gal.❤️🙏
I learned how to groom my Maltipoo at home. I’m thankful for all the videos on UA-cam! I was able to give my furry baby a teddy cut and it looks good after many failed attempts:)
Amy, thank you so much for all your videos, especially this one. Keeping our dogs up and trimmed is huge, since there is no professional visit in between there at home maintenance ❤
New Subscriber: Well I will be binge watching your videos.. As a former teacher I recognize that you have an excellent manner as to explaining things that need to be done and why. Thank you so very much. The best I've ever seen. You are very pretty and the dogs love you.
I am new to this channel. We adopted a Miniature Schnauzer in March, now 10 months old. I'm afraid to brush his hair with the wire brush, he hates it. Every 3 weeks we bathe it. Now for the first time he will receive a bath and professional treatment. Thanks for your time.
Just subscribed & ordered tear stain removal and “Fresh” shampoo you recommended for my maltese puppy. 🐶Thank you so much for your help and will spend hours watching your videos.🐶
OMG...I found the best groomer of all time. You provide detail to the max. Thank you for that and wow the loofah holly molly. I just learn something new right this instinct. Love your videos...thanks you
@@GoGroomer Incredible value! I've decided to groom my beloved dog Jerry who is 13 at home. So much to lear from you! Thank you again. And for responding. I love that you explain the tools and link them. I will be needing equipment. I can't wait to watch all of your content! ❤
We didn't have clear guidance in VA. Petco was allowed to stay open where I am but Petsmart was told they had to close. I work from home with only my son as my assistant. I had to call the health department finally... they said we could be open but no one was allowed in the house and I had to thoroughly clean between each pet with no client overlap. That means we can't do more than 5 appointments a day, less than half what we normally do... so I'm only doing "emergency appointments" for their health and safety. I'm asking those that can wait to do so... I'm going to be sending them this video! Thank you so much.
I am too scared to cut trim or clip anything on my boo boo I leave it up to you professionals. However I have been bathing Romeo wrong so thank you for this video.
Btw...your hair looks gorgeous..like a wedding updo. Very classy. Great video. We have a Maltese and I have been working very slowly, little by little, with some clippers and a comb. He had some mats by his ear. I had to cut them out. Thanks for helping! ♥️
Thank you! This gave me the courage to finally wash and trim one of my labradoodles! I can’t believe how much hair came off of him with all of the different tools I have now. When I get the clipper with me luck!

Been watching your videos for quite some time now,,,YOU ROCK!!!! Thank You for making your videos so clear (Both verbally and clarity of your videos) as it truly has made this process much easier to learn! I do have a question I feel is Crucial for those at home who might have pets with........”SKIN TAGS”, Is there any time you could post something or put something together for these issues, It made me think about it when you shared the importance of using shampoo FOR THE FACE and how using that flea comb would help with that process👍 You showed with such ease making sure the pet families knew the “importance” of using the comb and being VERY CARFUL with it as it cleaned up those nasty eye boogies, you’re so wonderful in explaining how to be ever so careful with your pet and the importance of keeping them healthy, Clean and happy ❤️ PLEEEEZE give some thought to a video on the importance of carful grooming a pet with SKIN TAGS, WARTS, etc... Thank you again so much for sharing your tips & your love of a happy healthy pet with others🙏🐾❤️
We travel full time now with our dogs. I can never find a groomer since we are not in one place for very long at one time. We do take them to pet wash stations when we find them. But one of the dogs needs a haircut. I'm watching your videos to see if I can do it myself. Im so leary and not sure of myself. Thank you for all the tips. Hopefully I will get comfortable and give it a go.
Oh my gosh, came here due to the nasty COVID-19, grocery stores are open as it is essential. I believe pet groomers should also be open because our pets are our children, so it’s essential they have everything they need to be taken care of. I purchased some nail clippers and a nail grinder (once they were finally in stock!), searched for a video and saw yours right away! Thank you for explaining everything you do, as well as product knowledge and techniques! Hands down best video ever, just made a new subscriber out of me! Shared this with everyone I knew. I didn’t know pet washing stations even existed! Omg I’m so exited with all this new knowledge! Lol I was my pugs at home, as well take care of their teeth and ears. However I take them in to have their nails grinned. Took them to the vet last week and it cost me $40 to have both of their nails clipped, not even grinned just clipped! Hence why I’m trying to do it at home. Thank you again!
Thank you so much for sharing all these amazing tips and tricks! Can't wait to use the loofah when bathing Rocky, GENIUS! One question though, and I'm desperate for an answer/advice. My little guy got neutered a couple of weeks ago and the cone and post surgical onsie left horrible Matting all over. I purchased the cowboy magic, and a special dematting comb off Amazon. It works, but it seems to be a very slow process and after a while Rocky (despite lots of treats) gets frustrated, and is evidently agitated and in discomfort so we stop and then start again the next day. He's a BichonPoodle who looks forward to getting brushed twice a day. He loves his bath time/blow dry. We've never ever had a single Matt but that darn cone and onsie have created disastrous matting. Any advice /tips on how to de-matt, or even a pain free way would be so appreciated 🙏
Tropiclean and bark to basics are actually the only two shampoos I have for my pup! I use the hypoallergenic because she can get herself pretty yucky and I sometimes have to bathe her more often than I prefer to because it usually dries out her skin if I don't use hypo.
All Pet Valu pet wash stations are closed. So bath your dog in the bath tub. Can't wait for mu groomer to be available. Thank you for your info. Very helpful
Wow just came across your video I am so happy i did I groom my dog at home I am not a professional but I sure leave my snoopy looking like a new dog every time my only problem is not finding something good for his tear stains, I will be ordering that tropical face wash thank you so much for your videos
Thank you Amy for this video. I know you how much you have helped me and Austin to get his coat and skin healthier. Grooming By Rudy recommended people to check your channel out.
Debbie Jack I’m so glad to be a small part you you and Austin’s life💕 Rudy’s Amazing isn’t he??? I watched his video when it was released and then saw him talking about my channel 😳 He is golden! His video was a great message about grooming techniques too✨
Thank you 🙏. So much valuable information. I just got my dog groomer shaver set from amazon and I’m going to try it now, thanks to all your tips. The nails ugh, still nervous about cutting those 😬
I have clients calling and begging for us to take their babies in, they say we are essential;) enjoying your video, think I will send it too them! Clipper vacuum is a must have for groomers!
It's so sad knowing our clients are suffering and matting like crazy and there is nothing the owner can do to stop it because they just are not pet groomers. I don't know how much more guilt I can take knowing these babies so desperately need us:( Where is your grooming salon located? Hugs my groomer friend!
Depending on your state you may be considered essential. I'm in New Jersey and we're aloud to remain open as long as customers don't enter. They text when they arrive and we go out to retrieve them.
Wonderful and informative video! I have the scared of everything little pup and she will always grow and try to bite ( never happened but she is noisy) the groomer. And she is a long hair so grooming is not a fun thing around here. I will for sure use these techniques and hope for the best!
I’m so glad I have come across your channel!!!!!! I have a little poodle mix dog. I groom her at home. I’m not really good at this but I do what I can. So I have a few questions! I need some good blades/clippers because I don’t want to keep shaving her almost bald. Next I need to know about thinning sheets!!! And please tell me what I can do to keep her still when I have to do her front feet??? She hates that. She also has very very dry skin, she is constantly itching scratching and nawing at herself!!!!!!
I stopped using 'flea treatments'...my dog is 16, and would get sick for a few days after it. So I use natural flea remedies. One method is to spray an apple cider vinegar/ water solution on him before we go over the woods, apparently the fleas are repelled by it....But what Ive noticed is, he doesnt smell of 'dog' so much since Ive used it. Because It's antibacterial. The vinegar smell goes when he's dry. I use it on my own hair. It's amazing stuff! I also find that keeping his back end shaved keeps fleas at bay, it's their favourite place!
I have been looking for a “teacher” so I could groom at home.
Finally!!!!!!
Thank you!!!!
🙌

Dog Groomers are allowed open in Australia, I took mine yesterday and had them groomed, glad I live in Australia
Thank goodness:)
My groomer is located in Missouri, USA. They are open as are most of them in the county I live in.

@@sandralorenz630 just do the best you can at home for her❤️
Thank you so much for sharing all these amazing tips and tricks!
Brilliant grooming techs I'm so going to be using this for the clipping so thank you!!!
All Pet Valu pet wash stations are closed. So bath your dog in the bath tub. Can't wait for mu groomer to be available. Thank you for your info. Very helpful

We don't know each other BUT! YOU are my new BFF... Thank you so much for your videos, just found you, my second video
Fantastic!!! I love my growing family 💕
You're the BEST , luv yah and all your videos
You're the best! I appreciate that my friend❤️
Such great tips! I’m curious what kind of brushes do you recommend and from where. I have a 6months mini white schnauzer.
Thanks:) I love the Kenchii Slicker brush and you can purchase one at Kenchii.com
Wonderful and informative video! I have the scared of everything little pup and she will always grow and try to bite ( never happened but she is noisy) the groomer. And she is a long hair so grooming is not a fun thing around here. I will for sure use these techniques and hope for the best!
Brilliant! Where have you been all my life!
Thank you 💕
Great information. Thank you for what you do.
Judy Brauner my pleasure 💕

I loved this video! Great tips on how to take care of my schnauzer!! Thank you so much Amy!
Thx. For sharing essential info & instructions. Never heard of pet wash stations & will look in our area for one. Thx again Eddie L
Glad to help:)
Whether you're essential or not depends on the state. In N.J., where I am I'm allowed to be open.
Yeah, it is crazy to me that groomers are not essential. It is for the health of our pets!
You are awesome. Thank you for this video desperately needed this.
Glad it was helpful! Hugs:)
Welcome! I have videos on my channel that address every one of your concerns. Just scroll through them
To find the titles that will help you.
Veil Break that’s great advice:)
Great video do you know what kinds of brushes to use for a border collie
Thank you! Kenchii large slicker brush would be my choice:)
