I won't breed any animal without being willing to keep the babies. I want one green looking hognose, and that is it for snakes. I bred a hamster once, kept most of the babies, but I won't buy another female, all males (except my cats) from here on.
@@kyleecats2255 I would only breed my Birds if I could keep them and I actually could because my birds fly around the room all day and I could juts buy another cage with food and water "bowls" but my parents don't want more screaming bananas and potatoes :(

Poor Mama snake! That must have been extremely painful. She's so lucky to have you guys. And it sounds like you have excellent medical support. The fact that they wanted to be proactive and prevent infection from setting in, shows how awesome they are! Believe me, I know from very sad, tragic experience that some vets can be very cavalier and careless about their snake patients. I'm so glad Red is going to be OK.
It's good that you include the "bad" with the good... My Hubby is VERY anti-snake so I'll never have a chance to get one but I consider your channel to be an excellent learning tool--so even tho I can't get a snake (would love to have a garter or bull snake) I can live vicariously through your channel!!! Sooooo glad that Red will (did) make a full recovery!! 💖💖💖
klcpca your husband can’t even handle a garter snake! He must have some kind of irrational fear or something....that’s too bad. Get him to watch some snake discovery videos and maybe he’ll come around.
My wife is the same. I love snakes & all types of herps , but she said I could only have a snake if I could guarantee the snake would never get loose in the house. If you’ve ever owned one, u know there’s no way to guarantee that. She let me have 2 frogs tho, in our room. She used to be frightened of them, but now she likes them.
@@juliek5094 Lol if someone doesn't like snakes don't force them to like snakes, that's just going to make them hate them more (I tried your same approach with a video game for my BF and now he hates it even more.)
@Mr Penguin I've seen people who were scared of hamsters hold them before. It ended up with the poor thing thrown to the floor because the person had a nervous breakdown. So no, I dont think it's a good idea. Especially with live animals.
Not sure if you are aware, but they are since given her away to be exclusively a pet. I guess that means that she is at an increased risk of being egg-bound again.
I'm always anxious about posting comments on channels, but I love watching your videos, and getting to see what having a family of reptiles is like. I'm so glad Red is ok ❤️
The poor girl... That egg must've hurt so much and the drained egg must've caused her to feel so uncomfortable. I'm so glad she was able to be helped and the slugs were removed. Best of wishes to Red and her recovery!
We want to be with you, both in happy things and in sad and stressful incidents, too! I remember when Jennifer from Solid Gold Aquatics lost almost all her fish to an illness, and being able to share and get support from viewers can really help.
I'm so happy you include the beginning and end of this kind of journey/experience instead of doing the classic youtuber thing and making 10 vids. Also great that she didn't need surgery!!!!
I really appreciate that you're showing not only the good times, but also the not so good times. It means, for any of your viewers who may one day decide to breed snakes themselves, they'll have a reference for what to do if something goes wrong. Glad Red's okay, and stoked about her having a name.
I've been on the edge of my seat throughout most of this video. I'm so relieved and happy for you and Red. Congratulations for a such a happy ending and I'm already looking forward to what's next to come.
Very glad Red's ok. We needed an emergency c-section on one of our cats a few years ago (mother and kits all survived) and that was a harrowing couple of hours. Thank you so much, for showing what can go wrong, as well as right xx
YES NEW VID. I’m thinking of getting a bullsnake and this video will probably really help me get to know what reptile vet visits are like. Love your videos Emily, keep up the amazing content 👍.
oh, poor red! i'm glad everything worked out relatively okay!! and I just wanted to say, this kind of video is really interesting and useful in my opinion! not even just learning about the type of problems that can happen, but walking through the steps of how to deal with it and what happens when you take your snake to the vet is really helpful! I personally get really anxious thinking about what to do if/when my pets get sick and being able to actually see how these things work is comforting. So thank you!
Glad Red didn't need surgery! Could you do more personal videos where we get updates on your different snakes like Red to see how they're doing and to get an idea of their personalities
