Sticking your hand into a hole and being bit by something you can’t see is an ancestral human fear. Sorry Ed had to experience it.
Oh my god that just made me feel even worse for him that must have been t e r r i f y i n g
Generational trauma at its finest.
Hopefully as a reptile keeper he has adapted to expect a bite when sticking his hand into a hole, but I guess it still scared him!
When you haven’t started the video and see this when you look at the comments…
@@bellasworld4592 lmao that’s your fault tho
If she still feels or looks thick after a week you might want to take her to the vet. Our bullsnake when he got lose ended up in the attic and ate all sorts of crap he shouldn't! (Pieces of expando foam and insulation. It was expensive AF to get it all removed from his insides.)
Boosting this for the algorithm!!!

Snakes remind me of naughty toddlers 😂

Ed had just finished warning you not to get electrocuted, so when he shouted, I thought for sure he got zapped! I'm glad it turned out to be Priscilla (although this was probably the most painful way to find her, unfortunately for Ed!)
I don't think it hurt that badly, but the shock (get it) probably increased his heart beat for a while.
@@RisingRevengeance I mean, the bite did draw blood, so it probably did hurt. I guess is just that Ed is kinda used to such things and just spooked himself.
I thought he was just joking to freak out Emily, lol.
@@TheNeonwing I was bit once by my ball python (not a bull snake admittedly) and while it hurt, it really was more of the shock that prompted me to scream like Ed. Plus, he and Emily seem really used to their snakes’ bites.
Same, I thought the exact same thing!
When she has her clutch, her babies need to be named after famous escape artists!
YESSSSSSSS
or supervillians!
Yess
The eggs can be labeled with different magician tools. Pack of cards, a wand, a bunny, a hat etc
Houdini, Angel, Gallup and Blaine are just a couple that I could think of.
Ed: "Holy crap, she just bit my wrist!"
Emily: "I'm so glad I got that on camera." Hahaha XD
When I say I died laughing 😂
True married couple!
Couple goals 😂
I need this as a gif seeing ed getting bit to "oh hi Priscilla" 🐍 lol🤭
“AAAHHH!! Son of a-“
I love how even though Ed got bit, you can still hear the relief in his voice when it happens cause it means he found her.
Yeah it's lovely to see
Task Failed Successfully?
@@therealopaartistlol
“Not on display at this time” is a much more tactful notice to put on Priscilla’s enclosure than “I’m loose in the hoose! Please let the staff know if you see me.” 😆
I would enjoy the second one so much more!
lolol
Ed is looking so professional and seems so comfortable around people and in front of the camera now. He seems like a different person in the best sort of way. It is so fun to watch both Ed and Emily continue to grow and become even more amazing than before (who knew it was possible?!)!
I was noticing that too. My heart was beating fast for him when Priscilla got him.
He was also so loving and caring for Priscilla and so patient with her biting him!
I was totally thinking that a few videos ago!
We love camera-more-comfy Ed!
Good point :D
Emily: We sealed all the holes so now there is no more chances of escape.
Priscilla: Are you challenging me?
That was the first thing that came to my mind. "Oh no Emily you've jinxed it"
Yeah she's nicer now because after being on her own without regulated heat, etc., she realized y'all were giving her the good life!! That's her way of saying "Thanks Mom and Dad"!!!
nah, she's just fat from those escaped soft furs and thus to lazy to be mad. xD
@@neolithiumproduction yup i agree on this the most lol 😂
this could be true but i think she wasted her madness on Ed from spooking her shevv be then decided she's to lazy be mad after eating the furs lol
@@neolithiumproduction xD
She slipped through the hole, ate the rats, then was too chonky to fit back through, haha.
Ed just demonstrated why you never stick your hand in dark holes. You never know what's hiding.
Also, I wonder if she tried to get out because she heard the soft furs behind the enclosure 🧐
Heard and smelled!
That's what I was thinking...
Ed getting bit - screaming "HI PRISCILLA" is like a perfect take
Only Emily would say "we've had some bad luck not finding any rattlesnakes."
"They're not a climbing species."
Famous last words. ^_^
Tell that to my blue-tongue skink who managed to climb up the foam rock backdrop of her enclosure to get on top of the UVB light.
I thought it was odd when they said that, unless captive bull snakes are different to the wild ones in my area they climb just fine if they want to get to something. Especially over fences around chicken coops XD
@@feyrannahunter1062 They meant bullsnakes aren't an arboreal species and spend 99% of their life on the ground. Not that they CAN'T climb, just they aren't known for it.
As someone who spent 4 hours breaking a brick wall and concrete trying to find and catch a wild coral snake, I feel your pain
That's the poisonous one right. Yikes, thats scary.
Did you at least find the snake after all that?😭
I don't recommend trying to find it Ed's way, lol.
@@fightingfaerie They're very venomous, but thankfully rather reclusive.
I still wouldn't want to be feeling around in the dark for one, though! That takes some serious courage.
@@fightingfaerie Yep, it was pretty scary but I was being careful
One potential way for you to find the missing Softfurs would be to use an infrared camera. Let the room chill down, and then see where the hot spots are, like how a pit viper does.
Lovely idea, but where does one find an infrared camera for sale? Do they have them at Best Buy?
@@amaliawilde8978 i bet there's one somewhere on amazon, maybe one specifically used for finding warm blooded animals?
Probably not really necessary anymore. 😅
My first suggestion of she’d still been missing would have been to keep checking the rodent room. I had a young Honduran milk snake escape when I moved to my new house, he’d been missing for over two weeks, I had a litter of rats go missing from their cage. Finally found him curled up next to the rat cage after a new litter had been born.
@@danielled8665 Better safe than sorry.
@@danielled8665 They're going to lose another animal at some point. It's inevitable. Like they said, they'd already lost soft furs before Priscilla got loose.
I’m so happy you found her safe and sound! If she does produce a clutch next year I say the eggs should have drawings of different magic objects to pay homage to her escape artist past
Theres always the risk this would happen, but what's important is that she's found and healthy, and you'll have a fantastic opportunity to learn and try out measures and policies if it happens in the future!
Ed screaming scared my half to death! I was so focused thinking “oh where could this snake be…I hope she didn’t make it outside!” And then AHHH she bit me. I jumped sooo high off my couch! Glad she is back and safe and hopefully she didn’t eat anything she wasn’t supposed to. Please keep us posted.
With the weather as it is over there, I was quite sure she wouldn't be outside!
Preggers or not I think a quick vet trip would be wise. When our 13ft boa Elizabeth got out (thanks to my Dad when on vacation) and found a day or so later she quickly became quite swollen. We took her into the vet because she was looking off an it turned out she had eaten a *whole* *electric* *blanket* ! When she drank water when back in her cage it wicked into the blanket and being just far enough down she was struggling to vomit it up on her own. Long story short she required a month long vet stay to monitor for any infection or poisoning.
An electric blanket??? What the heck! Aw the poor thing :( hope she's feeling better 😊
Aww i hope she is feeling better
@@razzledazzle2857 She's fine thank goodness, she pulled through and is a very happy an healthy snake. She now has a bigger an better enclosure with a snake proof door handle for her feed room now. So no more grand escapes for her lol.
@@seigedrakonera5689 Happy to hear it
I’m so relieved Priscilla is okay and that Ed’s heart rate (hopefully) went back to normal…side note, I would really appreciate a snake discovery animal list so I know how old an animal is and if they’re still alive. Does anyone know if there’s such a list out there already?
Would be neat to see what episodes they're featured in too.
Maybe a dedicated fan would do it for some merch
mr wilson, brad, and peanut are all going to be at the top lol
@@crazayhounddog I'm still wondering what happened to Mrs. Wilson.
Could be kind of hard to put up such list though, unless Emily keeps record of all animals that have passed. Of course some fan favourites/special animals that have passed that most fans know would be Nick, Janet and Popeye. But there are a lot of animals that they acquired for breeding, some were let go to new homes while quite a few have passed due to old age. Sometimes particular animal death was announced on youtube community tab or patreon which might be missed unless you comb through those platform (I did once before when I was wondering where Mrs Wilson was since she was no longer bred to Mr Wilson. Turned out she passed not long after having issue with stucked egg while laying, as seen on a video wayyy back). Others were mentioned on videos (eg: Popeye, Twiggy). There are also some cases where the animals were given away to pet-only home due to certain reasons (like Missy the hypo bullsnake and the unnamed red bullsnake, both had the same problem with stucked egg). Now that Snake Discovery has much bigger collection, it has gotten kind of hard to keep up with what animals they currently have, especially with all the animals they have have acquired for the zoo.
These are the ones that have passed so far that I have been able to figure out from various sources: Walter, Fatness Everdeen, Twiggy, Traveller
There are a few that I am guessing might have passed like Creepy Cooter
I love Ed’s reaction to finding her 🤣 he was terrified lmao
4:27 🤣🤣🤣
I thought for sure he was joking!
I'm sure Priscilla was smirking, lol 😂
I seem to recall a wise woman who once began a video with the quote, "There are two kinds of snake breeder; those who have lost a snake, and liars." ;)
I'm still mourning for Candy Cane.
I've only appreciated snakes for the last year or two. We've had our snake since mid-June. Took me approximately 2 weeks to lose him for the first (and as of this writing only) time.
We were on a road trip and he got loose in the car. Tore everything out of the car. Couldn't find him. Massive panic attack 1,000 miles from home, alone with my 5yo daughter. Finally find him wedged under the seat of the folded down 3rd row.
He's fine. I was less fine.
@@johannageisel5390 me too 😭😭
On the bright side it was the best snake possible that escaped. She definitely let Ed know she was there when he found her rather than run away! 😅
That's so scary, I'm so happy you found her!
I could have sworn that Ed got electrocuted when he yelped 😅 mini heart attack
Good job Ed keeping it PG family friendly I would of swore like a sailor and fell off the ladder lmao 🤣
You need to get a sign that says “warning: danger noodle on the loose” for when snakes escape XD
I thought danger noodles were venomous snakes
@@brandi3981 Nope, just a blanket internet term for all snakes, as all of them are carnivores and shaped like spaghetti noodles
@@brandi3981 no, venomous snakes are called nope rope
@@brandi3981 I thought they were called spicey danger noodles
@@shaizinaquinn8779 I thought the spicy ones were the ones who dry bite (no venom at all).
Those employees went above and beyond in their search but very glad you found her and found out what happened!
Me: "Seems like you need an endoscope in case something like this happens again."
Ed: "I've bought an endoscope."
I purchased my first pair of hognoses from Emily and they had 10 babies !!!!! Thank you Emily!
That’s so cool
Where can I buy snakes from snake discovery?
aw congrats on the baby snakes!
@@RiverMatheny Depends on what kind you want. They have wait lists for the snakes they breed (bullsnakes, hognose, garters, and a few other in very small quantities) and you can contact them (info on website) to get on that list.
The other way is to visit their retail store in MN and buy something (or adopt) something on display and available immediately.
@@owlivdejong5086 Thanks!
“It’s cold here, only 32 degrees.”
Me an Australian: *Confused Screaming*
Lol 0°C
Fahrenheit. :)
I've been told think of Fahrenheit as percent of warm, so thirty degrees is only thirty percent warm. One hundred fahrenheit is thirty seven celsius.
It's obviously not completely accurate, but it's a decent guideline
@@painenpanic3786 That's an interesting way to think about it...I guess 100 degrees F is 100% warm...lol 😂
@@painenpanic3786 yep! Because Fahrenheit is based off how the temperature feels for a human
Priscilla went on an adventure. *Cue Indiana Jones Theme*
Edit: She must have smelled those soft furs. A full buffet!
I think she knew the soft furs were around, too. Those bull snakes are so food motivated!
Now im just imagining ed reaching into a cabinet for cereal at home one day and going “Youch! Hi candycane!”
Wow crazy escape artist. Looks like she found her personal chamber of secrets above her enclosure. So happy they found her. That was great Ed’s reaction to getting bitten and finding her. This is now my current favorite video with Ed’s reaction.
Omg! Each time you guys stuck your arms in holes I was like “no she’s going to bite you! Well I guess that’s one way to find her…” lol I was right 😂 I do have a slight phobia of sticking my hands or feet in places where I can’t see and uh that didn’t help 🤣
I love that's Ed's reaction to unexpectedly being bitten was, "Hi Priscilla!"
I love how natural Ed has become on camera. It's been so great getting to see him more and more!
Glad that Priscilla was found safe and it's nice to see that you put her welfare first and didn't hesitate to drill a hole in your wall and rip out some of the outer rock texture to find her. When Ed yelled that scared me! I thought maybe he got electrocuted. Reaching your hand into a dark space and getting bitten by something has to be everyone's worst nightmare 😂
Ed’s reaction was hilarious ;D I’m so glad you guys were able to find her though!!
I may have gone back several times just to that point to watch it again and again....because giggles.
I am so glad that I’ve never had to deal with this with my corn !! Glad you found her !! :)
Oh I had this happen with my corn once. I had him in a quarantine tank because he got mites rig before I went on a trip and the little guy escaped. He decided his hiding place was going to be right under my mom’s mattress. My mom who is terrified of snakes. I was just happy he was okay and the dog didn’t get him.
My corn had half an escape attempt xD.
I bought him the snake discovery enclosure (absolutely great for him) and I put him in, no problem.
There’s a tiny little space between the two glass doors. I figured ‘Emily and Ed keep garters in there, Loki’s bigger than that, he can’t escape.’
Cue me waking up at 3 am in the morning with him squeezing himself through. Somehow. He pushed the doors apart in their guiding things and was able to muscle his way through.
Just a boop of the nose and he went back inside. Bought some blocking strips first thing that day!
I work at a pet store and we lost our California Kingsnake a few months back. A few weeks ago i was restocking dry cat food and he popped out from under the shelf i was in front of, gave me a tongue flick, and tried to slither away again. After catching him and going through our records, he’d been loose for 3 months. Didnt lose weight, no stuck shed, and his attitude was a little nicer.
I'm glad you found her!
I'm so curious how you guys are able to keep track of everything, like what to feed who when, when certain closures need cleaned, when the rats need fed, when breeding is for each snake, etc. Do you have amazing excel files or what??
Me too! I'd enjoy seeing how you organize things!
Probably but I know that they have a staff at the facility to help them!
I would love to see what kind of routine they keep and if there's documentation that has to be done when they've been fed.
Not a climbing species?? I routinely find bull snakes up in cottonwood trees and on sandstone cliffs going into birds nests. Best climbing colubrids I've seen yet. Glad you found her - phew haha
As far as I can tell, every species is a climbing species, lol. I guess it comes from our ancient ancestors climbing from the water onto land the first time, haha.
Didn’t even need to buy the camera, just put Ed’s hands in places lol She’s being nice because she ate all the missing rats and is full 😂
A wise woman once said "there are two types of snake owners. Those who've had one escape and liers." glad she's safe? Big thicc breadstick.
Come on, just ONE escape?
Never a dull moment! Glad you found Priscilla (in the most epic way lol, poor Ed)! Speaking of ASFs, one of them I got from you chewed out of a bin here too - they are ridiculous! I managed to catch her and moved them into something totally escape-proof, but I feel your pain!
Are you sure it's escape proof? Lol.
@@Dragonemperess If they can chew through metal and glass, we're all doomed lol
@@AuroraExotics Maybe if they're part Naked Mole Rat. XD
@@Dragonemperess Does that mean we get to do the naked mole rap?
@@Lionloverky Yes. Yes it does.
I’m sorry for all of the things going wrong! I hope things start calming down and going well!

Once you found Pricilla, it seemed that she was actually happy to be found. Yes, she bit Ed, but I think he scared her. I’m so glad she was found.
Ed seems so happy and relaxed lately- seems like zoo life is agreeing with him! ^^
So glad you found her! Sorry she bit you Ed but I must admit I did laugh. Your reaction was priceless 🤣🤣
I LOVE how Emily actually stopped talking and even paused the recording whenever Ed screamed! She must've been so concerned, That's so caring and respectful aw! 4:28
I think the pause was to cut out a curse word, lol!
Yeah he definitely went to say “son of a b**ch” 🤣
@@zarabailey2960 yeah most likely XD
I was so worried! She ended up fixing a couple of other problems along the way as well, so I guess everything turned out for the best.
Can I just say, Ed looks really good these days. Idk what it is but he seems more confident and happy. He looks to be thriving. It makes me happy :)
Got so scared when I read the title. Happy the little escape artist is back and safe with Ed and Emily
I'm glad you found her safe, and I HOPE she's chunky from rats and not something more dangerous to her. Poor Ed, but that was pretty amusing. xD
Happy you found her. So happy you weren't looking for a venomous snake. That bite would have turned out completely different.
I'm glad you found your snake :-) I just lost a tiny baby corn snake about a week ago. I've searched and tried luring her back, but there's been no sign of her. At this point I don't expect to ever find her, but people have found their snakes unexpectedly months later in the strangest places. I know I'll be much more careful about securing the lids with my other snakes. Still kicking myself for the mistake.
My corn snake escaped twice. I have found him Inside my bed once (like when you open the bed) and under boards second
They have a video with tips to locate lost snakes! Fingers crossed for you
Truly Ed is the best snake bait there is XD
"If ______ was a snake it would have bit you."
In my area we have this expression used when looking for something that is obvious that I never understood. In all my attempts at herping the snakes decidedly do not jump out at you but Priscilla definitely did do this.
Ed seriously has the best smile!
So glad you guys were able to find her!
It's so terrifying when you lose an animal, had this issue with hamsters when I was little. So glad you found her!
Ed’s reaction made my day. To be fair think he held it together better than I would have 🤣
Ed is totally the hero here! Glad you're young, dude - that would do a number on my heart!!
Oh Nooooooooo the snake it escaped (in the tone of of "Oh no. Are table. It's broken.")
Ed's very lucky he didnt fall off the ladder when Priscilla bit him! It could have been bad. Luckily everyone, including the snake is safe.
This reminds me of searching for my pet rats after escapes - although finding them was less painful, they just gave me a friendly greeting sniff instead of a bite, lol!
It's possible the rats chewed through the foam, letting her out. Would explain how she got out, and how she got so chunky if the rats were in that area
Yes! Although chewing your way into a snake enclosure definitely deserves the rat darwin award, lol.
Poor Ed, he looked like he was going to have a heart attack! And right after a rattle snake handling class! Lol if that were me I would have instantly thought "ohhhh crap im gonna die!!" HAHAHA
I'm glad she's safe and sound! Silly snake.
Hi
It's nice you found her so quickly...
But wait, Bullsnakes don't climb?
My baby bull keeps wrapping around the heat bulb cage tho.
Priscilla just wanted to help point out the flaw with the security of the enclosures 💜😂
Plot twist: since she's fatter and more gentle, *that ain't Priscilla*
If you pause the video as Ed gets bitten by Priscilla, the face is priceless! I am sorry He had to be bitten BUT you did find the snake, ant that's all that matters. The funny ace is just an added bonus.
I was dying when she bit Ed, that would've scared the crap out of me!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Her biting eds wrists was hilarious omg
"Why are you intruding into my lair, you five-headed freak!?" - Priscilla to Ed's hand
I wonder if she somehow smelled the loose mice and tried to escape to get them? Super glad you found her!
I thought ED was joking at first like they do in scary movies when they stick their hands into the unknown and spook the other to ease tension, then I realized he wasn’t joking…
This is why you don’t stick hands into holes … though it worked out in this case, I’m glad they found her!
She is deffo on the bad behavior board
Well, at least she wasn't a rattlesnake, or black mamba, or a venomous snake in general x3
Maybe Priscilla broke out in the first place as she smelled the soft furs that got lose. *wild instincts activate*
Fun fact(aint):
That isn't the real prisilla. That was prisilla's secret girlfriend/boyfriend that usually came to visit her. Then they decided to runaway but only prisilla managed to escape. That is why this snake is more calmer and more heavier than prisilla.
(Jk! But like think about it tho-)
PLEASE WE NEED A DEFORMED SNAPPING TURTLE UPDATE!
Anyone else notice the frogs and crickets in the background noise? Is it wrong that I kinda want a 1 hour recording of "Snake Discovery ASMR/relaxtaion"?
And now u have the endoscope for any future hide/escape artists
Priscilla disappeared into the Chambet of Secrets. Hopefully, it will not have to be opened for another 50 years.
Well you guys got to go on holiday, she felt left out.
I would legit have to change my pants if I went through what Ed went through. 😂 No joke.
That was EPIC! I totally thought Ed was pulling another trick but this time the trick was on him LOL 😂 Ah Pricilla! What a good girl, you knew where those naughty soft furs were and knew it was your duty to get them! Great video guys 🤩
I have watched this a dozen times, I swear. I bet Priscilla double clutches this spring after her lovely feast.
I was wondering when the first zoo mishap was gonna happen. I am glad you found her.
We got an endoscope to find my crested gecko when it escaped, I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought “mmm yes, classic reptile finding tool!”
No wonder she's so sneaky. She's a solid snake.
So that explains why strawberry was there when I visited! Also I hope they told you guys about the baby garter that tried to escape through the overlap in the glass! I was the guest who spotted the little escape artist
I love that when Ed got bit they cut out him saying son of a b-. that scare was awesome!
so glad they found her though!!
What is that at 1:35 ? It kinda looks like part of the backwall is loose, but it is too fadt to see clearly.
Thank goodness, I was really worried this was going to be another Candy Cane situation.
Poor Ed, I can't image his heart rate!🤣 I also watched that bite 10 more times, that was funny af!! 😂😂
Someday I am going to HAVE to visit this place!
