@sauce1232 Yes, it is true. There are many articles written about it. Even many soldiers dying in battle, often times their last words are to tell their mothers that they love them.
To me, it seems logical. One thing that "most" people have in common is, that they have a close relationship with their mother. She is the person that brought you into this world, gave you love, comfort, and safety. So, therefore, you worry she is going to be the most pained by your death. You don't want her to be hurt, even by your loss.

The murderer received exactly what he deserved. The friend in the trunk of the car, everyone of the friends texting him egging him on should not have gotten a free pass. Everyone of them deserved prison time if only for 12 months. These guys would grow up in a hurry. Now, no accountability for their crime, who says they won't do it again??
    Rest in Peace Natalie 🕊

I put myself in her shoes and I would be utterly devastated if I was not able to help my child when she needed me. There are no words to describe that sort of pain. Sounds like there was some substance to the claims she had falsified news of a pregnancy. It was said this had happened with a former partner too. If this hadn't been true you'd have thought this would have been stated explicitly in the video. Whichever way you look at it that is evidence of manipulation and coercive control so a defence team would be completely remiss to not mention it.
The premeditation of the killing meant there was little if any prospect of a defence-Whelehan sounds truly despicable-but if you were tasked with mounting a defence you're hardly not going to mention the things the victim did that were clearly abusive too.

The defense said, “Put yourself is his shoes.” Ok…having sex may result in pregnancy so if it happens, act like an adult and talk through options. If you get mad about something, don’t really end up liking them, or they do get pregnant..you STILL have no right to brutally kill them! And the friends could have stopped this!! Horrible people!!!

And why is the average murder verdict 20-something years in the UK? The little turd won't even be 50 when released. This one makes me so angry! (You did a fantastic episode, Mya & Alice. He was 23, an adult man yet they tried to paint him as a 'boy' who still lived with Mummy and Daddy and just wanted to have sex, not any grown-up problems. Please. He was a cold-blooded calculating murderer. Even more disgusting is that his friends were just like him and did not value Natalie's life. Poor girl. Condolences to her family from the US.
