I recently read in Islamic history that traditional education for memorizing the Qur’an and other sciences existed during the time of the Rashidun Caliphate before the Umayyads and Abbasids. This is consistent with what was discovered from the Sana’a manuscripts.

I have read Shabbir Akhtar's "Islam as Political Religion: The Future of an Imperial Faith", while I did benefit from it I also felt I lacked the full academic background and understanding to appreciate all his insights. I'd love for you to do one of your sit downs with an academic to dissect the book and add further context and explanations similar to what you have done with Imam Tom for books such as Formations of the Secular and the Impossible State.

If we ever want to achieve a khalifate, it need to start at home. We need to feel confident and comfortable in discussing the idea of khalifate to our children, our family and our community. To me this is the first step. We need to deal with the dogma within.
There's a prophetic methodology to re establishing the khilafah brother from makka up until when the prophet (saw) established a state in madina we can't have a random method of re establishing islam!
