Hey, just wanted to say thanks for enjoying (and playing along with) this track of my Tetris project. You’re a fine drummer, rock solid following the midi drums I played on an Octopad. Wish you’d been around when I did it originally!
Always a pleasure hearing the 8bitdrum cover and sounds amazing. Maybe one day you might do a youtube vid. Thanking all of us for listening to the soundtrack you did in the past.
Your soundtrack for this was so nice. Sadly the console didn't have the best reputation, but you still put so much effort into producing for it, & I'm glad we can still get to appreciate your work nowadays. :3
"Thank you for calling Tetris Inc. We are experiencing greater than usual held calls. We appreciate your patience while we get all of the blocks to fall into place to clear a representative for your line."
Allegedly, this is one of the better games on the CD-I. While it has a few bad issues, such as being able to only turn the pieces in a single direction and the fact that there aren't any sound effects, it has this kind of music and lovely live-action nature backgrounds.
The only other CD-I games I can think of that may be worth checking out is Atlantis, a first person shooter that plays a lot like Wolfenstein 3D. And Zenith, a game that has you bouncing a ball along 3D polygonal platforms. Still, the fact that the CDI could render ANYTHING 3D is nothing short of a miracle. It's interesting to think that if it wasn't so damn impossible to develop for, it may have had something to bring to the table when it came to 5th gen polygon graphics. Just to put in perspective, the CDI was harder to program for than the Atari Jaguar. Which was more difficult than the Sega Saturn. It's probably the hardest console to develop for in videogame history.
Remember by modern official Tetris Guidelines this soundtrack is NOT compliant because it doesn't have Korobeiniki being the default music. Just some Tetris Trivia
It says it straight up in the Tetris Guidelines Document "The following Russian melody must be included in some arrangement and must be set as the default BGM. -Korobeiniki " After all that's always been A-Type music and pretty much THE iconic music for Tetris.
I never knew that there were official guidelines as to what a Tetris game was supposed to have. Why should the music matter if the core gameplay remains the same?
This sounds like music from an 80s documentary you'd watch in middle school or high school. Why is it so good? Why is the rest of the soundtrack so good too?!? Can I get this game today???
When you think you're being Siiva'ed but you're pleasantly surprised when it's a jam. On that line of thinking, I hope one day we can hear Jerod play some Tetris Effect.
This sounds super nice but honestly I think the drums make it sound even better. Sometimes when he’s covering songs on stream, it doesn’t add as much as other times. This just really sounds great.
This is... THIS IS REAL!? Of all the CD-i things to encounter, I did not expect to FIRST hear about this one by way of Jerod, but I sure am not complaining.
I'd imagine that L0 Tetris is just regular Tetris but zero-gravity. Like it still has block collision and the turning hitbox and all that but without the falling.
With the drums, sounds more like an early 90s Toto song. Only things missing is the lyrics (unless it's the Dune soundtrack) and Steve Lukather on guitar.
If you guys are shocked that the Philips CD-I had good music, listen to the main themes for the first 2 Zelda cdi games. Surprisingly, they've got a good beat to it.

Yo, it's composer Jim Andron -- chill stuff. Just heard of your work here.
Your soundtrack for this was so nice. Sadly the console didn't have the best reputation, but you still put so much effort into producing for it, & I'm glad we can still get to appreciate your work nowadays. :3
Alternate title: man freaks out about playing normal music for the first time in years after only subjecting himself to internet weirdness.
Feels like something from a National Geographic documentary about animals that was made in the 1980s lol
And Here we See the Dolphins in their Natural Habitat. (Shows us them swimming around)
@@yaboipktendo more like 'and here we see the T blocks spinning their way into their natural habitat'
Feels like more of a travel documentary vibe
"Thank you for calling Tetris Inc. We are experiencing greater than usual held calls. We appreciate your patience while we get all of the blocks to fall into place to clear a representative for your line."
this is just perfect
i've seen this somewhere
Hahahah
Probably one of the best jokes I've seen.
For a sec i thought this was a Silvagunner or a LiterallyNoOne
Someone in Chat Said it sounded Like Dire Dire Docks and i can now understand why
Someone should send him that Tetris We are Number one mashup
This sounds like it came from one of DM DOKURO videos. I think he used in a Coffee Break
@@yaboipktendo tbh it has more of the starting notes on bowser levels
@Sairion Amrepyh I like that pfp
This song sounds like the emotional final puzzle on an investigative visual novel.
Maybe Trace Memory?
Oh I know this one! Is it 9 hours 9 persons 9 doors?
@@elevatorz89 haha Yes, 999 was the first thing that came to my mind!
@@hartbits_ Nice to find another ZE fan out in the wild!
Hahahaha! Yes!
Everyone is surprised that the CDi-theme is chill and relaxing...guys, did you already forget the Soundtrack in Tetris Effect?
Tetris exist and thats all we remember
if you mean the main menu soundtrack then yer i agree but some of the level soundtracks stess me da hell out lmao
Effect is different.
Still waiting on a steam port lol
@@elevatorz89 maybe when Xbox receives it?
Ah yes, the whole Tetris CD-I OST is _A e s t h e t i c_ af. 👌
It’s got that synth wave piano sound
Not aesthetic, just 1992.
Tetris but it’s the incredible story of true love between t-spinners and garbage senders
Of a declaration between a wyatt and the target of his (romantic) interest.
I’m the trash man
I receive enormous amounts of garbage
Tetris meteos
1:40 Delcake: "this song sounds like the music that would play while Windows XP is installing."
I mean, he's not wrong...
"Baka Mitai"
*_takes notes_*
Silva is watching.....
👀
Well, that’s a different dynamic compared to other Tetris theme songs.
This is realllll chill
This is the theme of someone who ascended from your average Tetris player, they'll be glowing or levitating while playing a perfect game.
Allegedly, this is one of the better games on the CD-I.
While it has a few bad issues, such as being able to only turn the pieces in a single direction and the fact that there aren't any sound effects, it has this kind of music and lovely live-action nature backgrounds.

On the one hand this is chill af, on the other another example of CD-i taking something in a direction which causes a metaphorical double take.
The vibe for this song: MacGyver building a drum set out toilet paper rolls, plastic straws and a bunch of buckets.
Yeah, this definitely sounds like a track from an 80s movie.
Definitely slaps.
It seems like you're allowed to vibe in this version of Tetris.
With the drums it straight up sounds like an 80’s power ballad
I really wanted the drums to get up and play him so it could really fit the Soviet Russia theme.
Did you even watch the vid, the point is it doesn’t sound Russian
Why are you everywhere?
Tetris, except this is what happens when I dont misdrop
The Tetris CD-i soundtrack makes me feel nostalgia that doesn't exist.
This sounds like the soundtrack to a documentary I had to watch for my Anthropology class from the 90s
Remember by modern official Tetris Guidelines this soundtrack is NOT compliant because it doesn't have Korobeiniki being the default music. Just some Tetris Trivia
I don't think Korobeiniki has to be the default music, just that it has to be included in the game. Still really fascinating to know!
It says it straight up in the Tetris Guidelines Document
"The following Russian melody must be included in some arrangement and must be set as the default BGM.
-Korobeiniki "
After all that's always been A-Type music and pretty much THE iconic music for Tetris.
@@Zelinkokitsune Ah yeah you're right, myb. I looked on the wiki and it stated otherwise, but the official document does indeed say that.
Hey man no problems. The fact that such a document exists is kinda crazy in itself!
I never knew that there were official guidelines as to what a Tetris game was supposed to have. Why should the music matter if the core gameplay remains the same?
that sounds like those songs from that 70's-80's american ninja trash movies, the training part of the movie
This sounds like if Cindy Lauper wrote a song for Minecraft
Wait, there was a CD-I Tetris game?
Always has been.
One of the only decent games on the thing
My boy, his perfect Tetrisimo is what all players TRULY strive for!
Surprisingly, the CD-I had a few good songs on it.
Isn’t there an internet rule that says that if it’s playable, there’s a version of Tetris on it? 🤔🤔😅
I can see this making sweet BGM for UA-camrs and streamers.
This sounds like music from an 80s documentary you'd watch in middle school or high school. Why is it so good? Why is the rest of the soundtrack so good too?!? Can I get this game today???
This actually might be my favorite 8BitDrummer jam, it just sounds and lines up perfect.
The Weather Network: "We now bring you your local forecast. Meanwhile, catch this vibe, dude!"
The Weather Channel:
And now, your local weather on the 8s.
The song itself sounds good, but the drums are adding so much to it. It's great!
more tetris games need chill soundtracks, this and tetris effect have some of my all-time favorite VG music hands down
The cdi was supposed to have capability for higher quality sound, and most cdi games just used it for bad voice acting instead good music
Hotel Mario and Zelda cdi has good music too
Philips really messed up on the visual capabilities of the CDI and the controller capabilities, but they nailed the audio being 8x ADPCM.
This video is precious. I mean... Just look at how happy he is?
The credit song of the elusive Tetris anime
I was like "bruh, why are all the comments 20 minutes ago?"
Then I realised this was uploaded 30 minutes ago
CD-i Tetris is straight bangers.
the tetris cdi OST is a hidden gem god its so good
I have discovered something today.
I absolutely need these in my playlist, god. Thank you, whoever suggested this.
Tetris level 0 be sounding like its raining outside and it be gaming hours
this is reaally good and makes me happy and fills me with emotions about my past
When you think you're being Siiva'ed but you're pleasantly surprised when it's a jam.
On that line of thinking, I hope one day we can hear Jerod play some Tetris Effect.
This sound like the soundtrack of a weather report on tv xD
Ah yes, The 8Bit Drummer. The man who's always playing drums, but every other time you see him he has a hand brace or something
Both song and drums make it sound like some love song (from whatever year sounds funny enough)
This soundtrack is more Gran Turismo than Tetris, and I'm all for it.
It sounds like a end credits song
I was Today years old when I found out Tetris was on the CD-I, and not just Mario toasting toast or The Dinner King.
This sounds super nice but honestly I think the drums make it sound even better. Sometimes when he’s covering songs on stream, it doesn’t add as much as other times. This just really sounds great.
Y'all ever come across comments you made a long time ago and have no memory of ever leaving it?
Sounds like a song in Trauma Center
Makes me wish they’re bring this back as a Theme for Tetris 99
I kept expecting a sax solo to appear lol
WE need a version of this with the drums but no commentary, I would go to sleep to this. Love Jerod's talking but the drums really fill out the track.
I feel more complete as a person knowing this music exists
Feelin like goin to the theater in the 80's
i love this so much, it’s so low fi and it’s amazing
I played a lot at Tetris
I've never heard this cool music
Honestly, I watch 8bitdrummer 75% for the drumming, and 75% for the hype he exudes. Yes, I know that's 150%.
to me it sounds like visiting one of your old homes after 10-20 years of not being there
I feel like this would play in the Rockford Files or something.
This song sounds like a serie from the 80's like MacGyver.
you add the drums, and you add vocals, we got an actual song going on here
This is the only song I know of that can be: Elevator music, "Please hold while I transfer you", 1990's home repair, and a head banger all in one.
He should play through that soundtrack. That would be great!
Level 1 sounds like it could be in a Squaresoft RPG, maybe Xenogears or something. :P
Perfect soundtrack doesn't exi-
hell yeah , got here early , love your content
damn you’re such a badass drummer
This is... THIS IS REAL!? Of all the CD-i things to encounter, I did not expect to FIRST hear about this one by way of Jerod, but I sure am not complaining.
sounds like music for a serious buddy cop film set in new york city in the late 80s to early 90s.
Gotta say, I admire the chill vibes. Reminds me of something you'd hear in Pocket Tanks.
well....one good thing that came out of the CD-i
I'd imagine that L0 Tetris is just regular Tetris but zero-gravity. Like it still has block collision and the turning hitbox and all that but without the falling.
This feels soo satisfying
So I tried to listen to this at 2x speed and it sounded like a sonic level to me at least.
I thought the title said
"This is a Tetris theme??? On Drugs?"
Holy shit, that was actually really good
It reminds me of some of the calmer Etrian Odyssey musics.
The one good thing to come from the CD-i
Was waiting for a sick ballad and an electric guitar
At first I thought this was some Dream Theater intro and was waiting for the RPM to change and the guitar to kick in at any moment.
Wellp
Now to binge the Tetris CD-I ost
Fun fact:
The first four themes of my tetris remake is Tetris CD-I'S first 4 themes
Definitely 80s movie walk into sunset freeze-frame into credits music.
With the drums, sounds more like an early 90s Toto song. Only things missing is the lyrics (unless it's the Dune soundtrack) and Steve Lukather on guitar.
Reminds me of the TV listings channel that used to be on back in the day. Man, I feel old. Good tunes, though, strangely.
Ayyy... Congratulation for reaching *666k* *Subscribers* lol
i want everyone to please listen to the tetris cd-i ost, i promise you will not regret it
Whooo! My like made the vid hit the 1k mark!💗
Reminds me of something they would use for my Listening Comprehension examinations
Why does this theme sound like it would be pleasant to listen to with rain and thunder sounds?
Please oh please do a version of this cover without commentary
If you guys are shocked that the Philips CD-I had good music, listen to the main themes for the first 2 Zelda cdi games. Surprisingly, they've got a good beat to it.
And now for the weather report...
The CD-i Tetris soundtrack is all really good...
*And then Track 5 Approaches*
the m e a t b a l l
This feels like Dire Dire Docks threw a party
This reminds me of the Weatherscan music. Anybody remember that?
wow, tetris CD-i music be dope
This is gonna be popular
I legitimately need this as an mp3.
