ahh the love on this edit has me so blown away!! thank you all so much for always supporting our creative growth :) Can't wait to edit more videos for you!! xxx - Dana
Big Little Changes- a great title. Details like a lip on a shelf are so impactful. And Dana did an awesome job with editing the details of this video beautifully. ❤
Think about your boat being on a 45 degree angle and pitching forward and back and side to side. When you pack your pantry you will want some sort of padding for glass bottles and some way to keep everything from shifting when you take something out. Another thing that is handy is to designate a place in the gallery for rapid access - where you can put snacks or the ingredients for a quick meal while at sea. Lastly the fiddles on your dinette may have been more uncomfortable if the cushions had compressed over time or were not dense enough to begin with. Something to check out. The fiddles keep the cushions in place when you are sailing. (My experience from 25 years of ocean passages). Keep on with the winter build and thanks for sharing your adventures!
The style of gallery on Penelope has pros and cons for cooking at sea. I’m sure you can find tips from others with a similar galley. I personally do food prep while sitting in that type of galley-it takes some planning to figure out the best way to safely cook. You’ll figure it out I am sure and that’s a lot of the fun of cruising!
These are wonderful tips, Val, thank you so much for sharing!!! Reading your tips learned from experience makes so eager to be out at sea already 🤗❤️ Hope you are having a wonderful week!
lou is literally the guy in the friend group who is good at everything but you don't know until he does it and you're like ... where... when... did you ?? what ??
I couldn't even tell the difference between your editing style! I may not pay attention too much but this video was AMAZING! Love you guys!! Can't wait for summer 😎❤
Yay, this comment really made my day!! Ha, it is always special when someone notices details that you thought a bunch about... Thanks, Lee, and hope you are having a wonderful day 🤗❤️
It would be useful to keep a handsaw available on the job site for those times when batteries die. I highly recommend a Japanese saw that cuts on the pull instead of push! More control.
Was really happy to see you went with the second version of shelves! I've been watching your videos a while, but I noticed you sometimes omit a source of protein and just eat rice and veggies, but when I do that I get hungry and hour later, so would love to hear some tips. Great job on the edit, Dana!
Tip for cutting onions! Put a damp paper towel folded up on the cutting board and you won’t cry! The onion will travel to the closest water source, usually your eyes, but the paper towel will eliminate that :) Try it out!
Thank you, McKenna!! These comments are so fun, lot of fun tips for cutting onions that I had never heard before, including this one!! Thank you for sharing and I hope you are having a nice day 🤗❤️
Dear Dana and Lou, Inspired in part by your veganism I successfully navigated through first Meatless (albeit vegetarian) Monday! Which is a lot for me, because I have hypoglycemia. Thank you for your videos, your adventures, and sharing your lovely boat life with us.
That is so exciting to read, Jordan!! We are so incredibly humbled to be part of your inspiration to try out meatless Monday! We hope you ate some yummy meals 🤗
Dana- you did a fantastic job of editing. This will give you both more flexibility when needed. Penelope is coming back to life thanks to both of your efforts
I wouldn't have noticed that the editing was any different! You did a great job Dana!! (for real, not because Lou said to say so) The changes in the boat are going to be SO nice for comfort and function! It's really fun to see it all coming together and the process to get there!
Wow, amazing job editing the video! You are a natural storyteller. Love the way the kitchen is coming together, definitely will be a game-changer for living on board!
Amazing job Dana! I always feel like I'm face timing two old friends when I watch ya'll's videos. Very easy and real. Special treat for a college student like myself who misses home sometimes.
Only advise but you should have put those shelves on pullout extension runners - so you could access everything on the shelf. My wife has a huge pantry which is deep and just fixed shelves and we never got back to the stuff on the back of each shelf. So I changed everything to pullout shelves - godsend!
Great video! Love following your sailboat journey. Sailboat life seems like the next natural step after van life! Great editing job Dana! Like . Wow. You got this girl 👌
Great job editing and filming! It must take a long time to get all those shots and camera angles, but the way you've put them altogether makes for wonderful watching! Beautiful little chess set too.
Great job on the new cabinets! It is such an improvement from the icebox. I really enjoyed Dana’s editing, a nice balance of music timelaps and explaining. Stay safe and keep up the good work!
Awesome job with the edit Dana!! If Lou hadn’t have said I would not have noticed! Love you guys!! I rewatch all your vids until the new one comes out each week!
Fine video, as always. Great work, Dana! It’s always so fun to peak into your days, definitely wish we were hanging out in person. You two are such an inspiration
Loved it, as always 💕💕 Your episodes are the best 20 minutes of inspiration every week! Me and my boyfriend recently bought a Hallberg-Rassy 352 and are upgrading that for our own full time sailing adventure so this is just perfect! Actually, the first episode I saw with you guys was when you still did vanlife and I thought “ah, I really like them but I really wished they did boatlife as that is what I want to do”. A few months later you bought a HR! ⛵️💃😍
I've come to this comment section for the obligatory "great editing! wanna see more!" :D No, but seriously, I liked the editing. Feels like a slightly different style than Lou's. Oh, and thank you for saying that the edge has been raised about 5,7 *centimeters*. 100 sympathy points for using the metric system! :D
I was thinking the same thing. Or you could use long acrylic boxes you can pull forward. That is what I have done in a cupboard that is difficult to access. Don't know how it will work with the lips, though.
The opening for the door is not nearly as wide as the space behind. This.idea would waste a ton of room for the drawer itself, not to mention a few inches on both sides which would not be reachable. There is so little room in a boat this size that even one square inch of wasted storage space is a tragedy.
Though they do not have the space Sailing Uma came up with an amazing solution and fitted a lazy Susan. No I do not know Susan or why she is lazy. The best thing was they only had part of the top removable making it much easier to take off and they just turned it around to see all the contents.
Hey Dana, I really enjoyed the montage you did over your narrating of describing what the rest of the day looked like on the first day of this build video. It was really fresh and creative to watch! Hopefully, this bolsters you a little bit and you keep editing!
The ediit was amazing! Also, if you put a wet cloth down next to your cutting board the things in the onion that make you cry will be drawn to the wet cloth and not to your tear ducts 😏 Or don’t… It’s super cute that he’s willing to do that for you 🥰
Nice work the remake of the kichen. And be aware that the waves on the ocean could be rough, so everything could come out of the shelfs if you don’t have a stopper on the end of the shelfs.
Excellent job on the edit, Dana. Your approach is very similar but I think I can see some nuances in your style. It's mostly in the visual styling like a subtle lightness to the toning - things like that. Very nice. ~ Greg
I have been watching your channel for a long time I would have never guessed that you switch editors nice job. good story telling. You can notch the shelf above to gain space to avoid the fiddle below. A small sacrifice to gain more room if you keep the top open for top loading you can put a lot of tall stuff on the top shelf. just like the shelves the cushions will fall off the bench seats on a long heal. you might add Velcro to the seat and cushions. Finally rising the new frig so your feet can fit under it will make much more comfortable on passage you will want to sleep very close to the person on watch. after all it' s just you two against the sea. Haling from the gang way is much easier than running below to awake your partner in the forward cabin. nice work!
Yes, I was also thinking about elastic bands in the cupboard (maybe two each shelve), like in a van! 😉 Then you don't loose any hight. If you have a small ledge on the front, cans could be tipping over when the boat is tilting maybe? Dana, you did a good job on the editing! 👍🏻 The only thing I might say (just my personal feeling) is that in between some of the uptempo edited scenes there could be a few easy moments. It felt a bit hasty for me, but that is probably my own easy going nature, haha! Don't listen to me if it doesn't resonate 😘 You are such a good team guys! Lot of love! 💜💙💚💛🧡❤️
Maybe for keeping things on the shelves you could use a retractable clothes line and hook it in one end when y'all are on the water? The project looms amazing kudos y'all.
I recommend buying some special containers for holding things like rice , beans, flour, etc . It’ll help you keep things dry and all that has BUT it’ll also help you guarantee that you cal always fit those foods . You can also buy some reusable bottles that you can put vinegar in etc since those bottles can vary in size and shape or be prone to leaks when they tip over or roll
Yeah If you check out sailing uma, they used to or still have like elastic bands or small ropes across their cupboards so nothing slides out and you can just pull the band out the way and put stuff in
Hello lovely people!!! Soo I was thinking as I am a visual merch what if you add some plastic/wooden heavy sliders on the front of the shelving if you need to? That way you can insert them whenever you need and tame them off too. Sorry Dana, I deal with falling and sliding of garments on a daily basis. Lol... We had a horrible last week -28 C here in the south and I felt happy to see the snow but people and life here is not used to this! So I was really looking forward to your episode while taking lunch break! Happy to hear that you are working more on to editing on youtube!!! Say hi to Lou from me, Stan and our 3 cats :) As always sending sunshine and bright weather oh and thank you for sharing plentiful kiki with me!!! Nat
ahh the love on this edit has me so blown away!! thank you all so much for always supporting our creative growth :) Can't wait to edit more videos for you!! xxx - Dana
I guess Im quite randomly asking but do anyone know of a good website to watch newly released tv shows online ?
Had you guys not mentioned it, I would have never known the editing was any different than normal! 💖 Well done Dana!
Good Job Dana! Brilliant Job!!!
AGREED!
Agreed! Brilliant job, Dana!
Aw, thank you SO much!!! That is high praise 🤗❤️
I was thinking the same ❤️
Every time I tell my mom about your adventures on the boat she says, "Oh, the people who eat all the rice."
It’s the muffins and cookies that get us excited...and the hot chocolate! Wish we had some every week when we watch!
Haha, guilty as charged though, we do eat a LOT of rice!! 🤗
If you put non slip matting on your cupboard shelves it will help to stop things sliding about.. 😉
Great editing, Dana! Can't wait to see you both back on the water. In the meantime, stay warm!
Big Little Changes- a great title. Details like a lip on a shelf are so impactful. And Dana did an awesome job with editing the details of this video beautifully. ❤

lou is literally the guy in the friend group who is good at everything but you don't know until he does it and you're like ... where... when... did you ?? what ??
And you'd think he'd be annoying, but everyone loves him & he's so humble.
Lou explaining all the projects is so wholesome, the blue hat is so adorable!
The editing on this video is amazing!
Nothing against Lou's editing. He does a great job as well.
I couldn't even tell the difference between your editing style! I may not pay attention too much but this video was AMAZING! Love you guys!! Can't wait for summer 😎❤
So glad you liked it, thanks!! And yes, definitely with you on being excited for summertime!!! 🤗❤️
Yeah same I really didn’t notice the difference. Dana I think you even had some L cuts in there 👏👏👏
Nice editing job Dana, especially when you went from talking on the ladder to talking on the deck, your commentary editing was absolutely seamless 👍👍
Yay, this comment really made my day!! Ha, it is always special when someone notices details that you thought a bunch about... Thanks, Lee, and hope you are having a wonderful day 🤗❤️
I love how important snacks are!
Tip for onions! Store them in the fridge and they will make you much less teary when you cut them (if they are cold)! 🧅
It would be useful to keep a handsaw available on the job site for those times when batteries die. I highly recommend a Japanese saw that cuts on the pull instead of push! More control.

If Lou didn't say that Dana edited this video I'd still think it's him
Good job Dana! 😍👏🎞
I’m so here for other girls editing and filming, go Dana 🥰🥰✨✨✨
Good job, don’t give up, and the spring is coming
Great job Dana, I love the addition of comments and titles, its cute 👌
Awesome editing job - Girl! You have definitely joined the club!
WOW, you're in the USA and you drive a manual car, I'm impressed.
No kidding, they are even hard to find, I have two manuals but one is from 1968 lol
Thank you for sharing and I hope you are having a nice day 🤗❤️
The editing was REALLY great! ❤️ love the shelves!!
Lots of love and creativity in your boat. Love the positivity and nice energy that both of you radiate and the love that share for each other.
Visual storytelling is a skill you definitely both have mastered! ❤️
You did a great job Dana! I love seeing both your styles and perspectives. It is part of the whole! The boat is looking great.
Dear Dana and Lou,
Inspired in part by your veganism I successfully navigated through first Meatless (albeit vegetarian) Monday!
Dana!!!! Great job editing. You guys never cease to amaze me.

Tuesdays are my favorite!! Thank you guys!
Yep, add me in! Never would have noticed new editing--it always looks super!
Wow, amazing job editing the video! You are a natural storyteller. Love the way the kitchen is coming together, definitely will be a game-changer for living on board!
Love you guys! Let's get to work, but first a snack! You guys are so my people :D
Amazing job Dana! I always feel like I'm face timing two old friends when I watch ya'll's videos. Very easy and real. Special treat for a college student like myself who misses home sometimes.

Would be really difficult on the boat. As these shelves are wider than the cabinet door
Yay Dana! You can do it!!! But seriously, editing is so much work!!!
What a nice team you two make! Love watching the progress!
Dana, this was edited beautifully! I wouldn't have known the editing was different had you guys not mentioned it :)
Great video! Love following your sailboat journey. Sailboat life seems like the next natural step after van life! Great editing job Dana! Like . Wow. You got this girl 👌
I love you guys so much, you're so gentle and wonderful. Your videos always brighten my day :)
You are so kind 🤗❤️ thank you for following along!!
Beautiful video of a beautiful journey! Look forward to your stories every week.
Maybe you could use elastic in the cupboards? like on a bike.
That's a really clever idea!! Thanks, Jasper!! 🤗
I wouldn’t have known it was edited differently had you not mentioned! Well done and thanks for sharing your adventures with us!
Great job editing and filming! It must take a long time to get all those shots and camera angles, but the way you've put them altogether makes for wonderful watching! Beautiful little chess set too.
Your uploads are one of the best parts of my week!!
Great job on the new cabinets! It is such an improvement from the icebox. I really enjoyed Dana’s editing, a nice balance of music timelaps and explaining. Stay safe and keep up the good work!
The editing is great! I loved this week's video - thank you 😊👍
You guys are such a great couple, it truly is inspiring. Good job on the editting Dana! Keep up the great work both of you!
Awesome job with the edit Dana!! If Lou hadn’t have said I would not have noticed! Love you guys!! I rewatch all your vids until the new one comes out each week!
Watching your videos is always so relaxing and inspiring. Dana that editing was top notch and as always I can't wait to see what y'all put up next.
The editing was amazing like always. I did not notice a difference. Everything you do is always amazing
Great job Dana!! I love the new editing, you are a natural! Love these videos💖💖
Fine video, as always. Great work, Dana! It’s always so fun to peak into your days, definitely wish we were hanging out in person. You two are such an inspiration
Another beautiful video. Great job Dana, you nailed it 👍
What about bungee cords across your shelves then you just unhook them
Dana you did amazing work! I did not notice ANY change!
Loved it, as always 💕💕 Your episodes are the best 20 minutes of inspiration every week! Me and my boyfriend recently bought a Hallberg-Rassy 352 and are upgrading that for our own full time sailing adventure so this is just perfect!

You're doing a wonderful job editing, Dana!
You two look like you are working hard and getting a lot done just waiting to see you both in the water.
Yaay go Dana with the editing!!😊🤩🥳
Well done, Dana! What a lovely video :)
omg what a pleasant surprise that dana edited this one!!!! love it : )
Great job, Dana!!! Love you guys!!!
Loved the video as usual and so proud of you for trying something new, especially when it is so public :)
I've come to this comment section for the obligatory "great editing! wanna see more!" :D
No, but seriously, I liked the editing. Feels like a slightly different style than Lou's. Oh, and thank you for saying that the edge has been raised about 5,7 *centimeters*. 100 sympathy points for using the metric system! :D
Loved the video!! I agree I would not have noticed a difference in editing you both do wonderful 😊
Great job on the editing Dana! Such a wonderful video xxx
Same great editing quality! Go DANA!
Getting stuff at the back of those shelves will mean emptying everything in front. Redesign with drawers, much more convenient.
I was thinking the same thing. Or you could use long acrylic boxes you can pull forward. That is what I have done in a cupboard that is difficult to access. Don't know how it will work with the lips, though.

Brilliant edit.
You need a magnetic chess set!
You did awesome! Keep editing Dana!
Hey Dana,
I really enjoyed the montage you did over your narrating of describing what the rest of the day looked like on the first day of this build video. It was really fresh and creative to watch! Hopefully, this bolsters you a little bit and you keep editing!

You did so great Dana!!!
Nice work the remake of the kichen. And be aware that the waves on the ocean could be rough, so everything could come out of the shelfs if you don’t have a stopper on the end of the shelfs.
Bungie cordage, 2 strips per shelf, works great to keep things in place with the heal. Easy to reach through and secure. Way to go on the edit!
Excellent job on the edit, Dana. Your approach is very similar but I think I can see some nuances in your style. It's mostly in the visual styling like a subtle lightness to the toning - things like that. Very nice.
~ Greg
Awesome video, And the boat is really coming along.
Just a thought on the lip for your shelves..... could you use something removable like a piece of pool noodle or old garden hose? Cheers!
Cheers to all your hard work!
Thank you daina for editing this video 😍😍
WAY TO KILL IT DANA! This looks so good! ❤️

It's a good pace to the story in the video. Thanks.
wow so nice!! I had this feeling something was different :D I love it Dana!!! YEEY
Been watching your channel for a while now and enjoyed your adventures and your fasting videos too. Have a great day coming.
Yay Dana! Great creative editing!
Wow, the editing! Exquisite! 😜
Fantastic video. The editing was stellar. Perhaps the best video editing ever!
Great job editing! I love watching your adventures ❤️
You should totally invest in a contour gauge. It will make those complex curves super easy!
Maybe for keeping things on the shelves you could use a retractable clothes line and hook it in one end when y'all are on the water? The project looms amazing kudos y'all.
