    Wow, this garden looks delicious!!! I didn't know banana tree could be grown in AZ. Jake, have you ever tried to make banana biomass from the bananas while they're still green? They say that you cook the green bananas in their skins in the pressure cooker then you peel them and smash the fruit. The researches says if we add the banana biomass in out food like beans, soup, smoothie, etc, helps to control the glucose in our blood. And there's no taste. It also helps the body to absorb the carbs slowly. I wish I could grow these trees in the Northeast!!! :(

    @algigirl 7 років тому

    jake cut in quarters lengthwise.
    bfore that remove 2 or 3 layer outside feed the tortoise. boil a water add one tabsp salt. simmer ..then add the banana flower hearts. simmer for 8 - 9mins . drain and rinse on cold water.
    cut it into smallish size. then
    placed in a bowl.
    then take 4 garlic 4/more red chillies blend with 3 lemon grass stalk, 2 large onions thinly slice, 3large lemon juice , 4 large tomatoes slice .
    add finely chop kaffir line leaves..
    or coriander leaves.
    mix all and salt sugar to taste.. then eat with rice.
    or cook in coconut milk with lemon grass garlic ginger onion puree and chili paste or finely slice, some tamarind juice, add the quartered and cut few inch size banana heart. add into the coconut milk cook in small medium fire. then eat with rice..
    can add turmeric too.
    or boil n mixed with above ingredients add as salad.very nice..
    the banana tree once harvested you can remove it. cut to the lower above ankle, so it will brèed new shoot.
    cut the banana stalk, until right to the heart of it. normally in paleish whiteish colour. cut into small inches..cook in curry or korma or coconut milk add with herbs garlic ginger tomatoes chillies coriander or lemon grass paste..and tofu.. it taste very nice..

    had my first dragon fruit, and my body told me it wasn't ripened. like honeydew it seems to be a very special fruit with when to pick and eat. if you don't eat it at the right ripeness is either lost to much sugar and it's become mushy, or to soon it will have to much crunch and it will have a bitter taste. the latter was how the dragon fruit was for me even though the skin said rope, the inside was slightly bitter, had a crunch to it, and almost no sweat into it.
