BRIG sounds great and it’s nice to have the mod and filter options. But more and more I’m drawn to simple pedals that just nail what they were designed to do, so DM-2W for me (if I had to pick one). I think the DM-2W sounds amazing, I mostly use mine as a very present slap back and it excels at this, but 300ms also seems to sound right on just about anything.
As I say in the video I consider the Brig as the greatest hits of the best features of the most famous analog delays, so it's a great product that make sense, but the BD2w it's a classic and you can't go wrong with it. The brig is full stereo with modulation, so in a pedalboard context it makes more sense to me, for a full stereo Rig.
This video couldn’t be anymore on time. I’m thinking to sell RE-202 and buy the DM-2W. But, I have the regular DM-2 already. Whats your take on this?TIA.
I own both the RE202 and the DM2w. I love what boss have done with the 202 but in the end I play a lot more thr dm2w. Easy, straightforward and reliable. I prefer the waza to a vintage one for the background noise, twice the time and you can use a regular power supply
@@TheSpaceGuitar this is the attestation I wanted to hear from a guy who owns both. Thank you sir for your opinion. Putting up the RE-202 for sale and buying the DM-2W. Whatever that’s left, gonna buying the VB-2W I think. 🤔
Both sound incredible. I use a Boss DD-500 (I can tweak until infinity) = love it. You should check out the Analogman ARDX-20 - very dark and sits behind in the mix. Nice demo brother. oNe LovE from NYC
I was so torn between Brig and Halo. Or Dig. But then there's the DM-2w, since I just want to leave it in one setting and forget it. Or the Carbon Copy. or Memory Man. Why.. Why.. Why is this so hard? Dang it!
I have owned both, I actually prefer the Brig as its smoother/cleaner! but if you want more gritty! DM-2w! and for.a twist! I own a Boss DM-3 which I prefer over the DM-2 :)
Considering that the original analog delays were developed to mimic tape delays, the question is not so apple and oranges. I always wanted both the side of the Apple, but we should consider a third contender: the good old digital delay. Brig and Dig is a great couple

I'm biased because Boss are my favorite pedals, but I have to say that Strymon Brig sounds great! Nice comparison!👍
Thanks mate, considering that Boss is a fraction of the price of the Strymon it is really a bargain. But that Brig is solo good...
This is excellent. Thanks for doing this comparison!
Thanks mate, I'm glad you appreciate the video

Oddly enough just sold my DM-2w after picking up a Brigadier. Tap function is nice as is stereo
@@charleshale8504 you are satisfied by the brigadier?
Excellent sound and great chord choices
Thanks mate ❤️

Thanks Micheal! Actually I'm intrigued by Walrus Meraki...but the price is so high...

Mate, it’s simple, buy the DM2w
I love the Brig, and I love the Boss, but if I had to choose, it would be the Brig. Strymon have nailed every pedal they've made. 😊😊😊
Strymon is great but for double the money is not 2 times greater
I'm so used to external tap tempo I can't go back to not having it
Fun fact is that I’m so not used to tap tempo that I’m constantly using the knob and never tap

In which way you think that the dm3 is better than the dm2?
Why you prefer the DM3, mate?
@@TheSpaceGuitar I like both DM-2 and DM-3. reason I like the DM-3 is because I prefer its cleaner/smoother sound, DM-2 better for gritty
Boss is warmer
@@kingdozerr yes the brig is much more hi-fi
BRIG VS EL CAP?
Apples vs. oranges. Brig models BBDs, El Cap models tape delays.
@@ue4058 YES I know ive owned an El Cap, Im asking which one would he prefer
I never liked El Capistan, so Brig for me

I prefer the Brig. If I had to choose for a digital.emulation of a tape delay I'd go for the Boss RE 202. I sold a Volante btw
Why buy the Strymon when you can buy the real Boss analog delay for nearly $100 less?
It's not about which is better but is about what's your use of it
