- I've tried all the keel guards that you buy online, and they do not hold up near as long as a piece of 1" sch 40 pvc. It takes a little time, patience, and work to make, but this is THE BEST solution I've found to protecting your kayak keel. I hope you enjoy the video as much as I did making it. If so, please consider subscribing, sharing, and comment with any questions!!! Tight lines everyone!!

I like the thought of using PVC to protect the edges. Nice thick stuff.
3M 5200 would hold and seal that puppy!
awesome
That's a darn good idea thanks for the info.😁👍
It lasts me quite a few months, then I have to make another one. I drag my kayak from the back, so the front keel takes a beaten. Its probably almost time to make another one. The keel guards you buy, lasted me two weeks lol.
Good idea! A bit of work but as you said it's probably better than anything you can purchase.
It does last, and is very cheap to make after you buy the heating element
Hey great idea keep up the info , I’m new to this kayak thing , thks
