Thank you for doing this. It's an excellent way to use an old kayak that is near the end of its days to help the broader kayaking community.
Great video!! I wish there were more videos like this showing if a product actually works, not just how to install it.
Nice demo. The ease of application alone is worth a lot.
Right! Especially in an emergency situation.
Good video. This is something I am thinking about.
Enjoyed the video and great to see these patches do work !!! -thx
Thanks for watching bro!
That’s awesome man! 🤙🏻
THANKS!
I have seen other videos on YT about keel guards made from kydex, pvc or other products. Then you need a heat gun, special tapes and marine sealer to keep water from getting to the tape. Yeah, it may be cheaper and a little more time but the Gator Guard is a lot easier to apply and it seems to hold up well. Great information. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
Great watch while waiting for my plane!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the knowledge.
Yessir!
Great vid. Almost made me cry lol. That's the same kayak I was but couldn't afford. Good stuff tho keep em coming
Ohhh no!!! Thanks for watching. Do cry. :(
Great video and info, I've been wondering if these were worth buying? I think they are, and not wait until the Kayak hill has gotten too thin. More so for prevention! Thanks again.
Definitely agree 💯💯 use a keel guard!!
Absolutely!! Thanks for watching!!
You know you’re crazzzzzy 😂😂😂
😂😆
I live near Willapa Bay and drag my boat over oyster beds and gravel and barnacle covered logs every time I'm out. It's just the conditions here. Salt water too. Will these hold up? My poor old boat looks pretty bad but I love getting out. Any advice or helpful comments would be appreciated. Thanks, Brian
THEY WILL HOLD UP SO WELL!!!!
Hey man, that's a nice shaped hull, looks like a very stable one, and you cut it up? Lol!!!...btw, going to get me some Gator Guard. GG marking the road. Americans...lol!😅 Love from OZland.
Hey thanks for watching! Man, this kayak had other issues!
LMAO
Thanks I am gonna use it on my bass raider
GOOD DEAL!
Where can I buy this stuff? Thanks!!!
Online! Hit their website.
Wow, this stuff is mad expensive. What did you put on, like $300 worth of guards? 😲
Exactly it's ridiculous. 3" x 18" is $60
It's used for either protecting the bottom or an emergency repair. This will SAVE you. I had to patch a friends kayak 2 miles off shore and it saved not only the day, but her and her kayak. I keep a small patch in my safety kit.
Are they removable
Only if you sand it down
I just put some 0.080 Kydex on my kayak.
Is it holding up?
@@FishingWithHeath yeah. I’ve taken my kayak out about 4 times since and purposely drag the back end just to see if it gets any wear. I’ll take a photo of it after work. It’s still on their solid too. Edit: I bought a 4 pack of 12x12 Kydex from Amazon for less than 25 dollars. And one sheet was good enough to do the front and back and the part were the transducer is.
That guard needed time to harden in the sun.
Not too much. They harden very fast. I've had these on multiple boats for about 5 years. Even a 5 minute emergency fix will last.
Twenty bucks says you put on Craigslist for sale
Bet
Well if the gators big enough no guard could help lol.
Lined up my a$$
BLOODY HELL ,,,,,HAS ANYONE EVER TOLD YOU THAT YOUR ,,,,,PLUM LOCO ,,,DUDE ,,,THAT'S NOT GOOD I NEELY GOT TEAR'IE SEEING THIS NOW I NEED TO GO BLOW MY NOSE
