    Thank you for doing this. It's an excellent way to use an old kayak that is near the end of its days to help the broader kayaking community.

    Great video!! I wish there were more videos like this showing if a product actually works, not just how to install it.

    Nice demo. The ease of application alone is worth a lot.

    I have seen other videos on YT about keel guards made from kydex, pvc or other products. Then you need a heat gun, special tapes and marine sealer to keep water from getting to the tape. Yeah, it may be cheaper and a little more time but the Gator Guard is a lot easier to apply and it seems to hold up well. Great information. Thanks

    Great video and info, I've been wondering if these were worth buying? I think they are, and not wait until the Kayak hill has gotten too thin. More so for prevention! Thanks again.

    I live near Willapa Bay and drag my boat over oyster beds and gravel and barnacle covered logs every time I'm out. It's just the conditions here. Salt water too. Will these hold up? My poor old boat looks pretty bad but I love getting out. Any advice or helpful comments would be appreciated. Thanks, Brian

    Wow, this stuff is mad expensive. What did you put on, like $300 worth of guards? 😲

      Exactly it's ridiculous. 3" x 18" is $60

      It's used for either protecting the bottom or an emergency repair. This will SAVE you. I had to patch a friends kayak 2 miles off shore and it saved not only the day, but her and her kayak. I keep a small patch in my safety kit.

      Is it holding up?

      @@FishingWithHeath yeah. I’ve taken my kayak out about 4 times since and purposely drag the back end just to see if it gets any wear. I’ll take a photo of it after work. It’s still on their solid too. Edit: I bought a 4 pack of 12x12 Kydex from Amazon for less than 25 dollars. And one sheet was good enough to do the front and back and the part were the transducer is.

    That guard needed time to harden in the sun.

    • @FishingWithHeath
      @FishingWithHeath  Рік тому +1

      Not too much. They harden very fast. I've had these on multiple boats for about 5 years. Even a 5 minute emergency fix will last.
