- The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said on Sunday, April 28, that it is monitoring an “unauthorized” Chinese-flagged research vessel spotted northeast of Viga, Catanduanes.

The AFP should apprehend this unauthorized Chinese vessel doing unauthorized research in our territory and not just monitoring what it is doing.

This Chinese survey vessel should be check on board for illegal entry inside our territory for contraband, etc. then should be impounded after fine penalty. This will send strong message that all illegal foreign vessels w/ o authority to enter our territory ate subject for on board inspection .

China is so aggressive in repelling our vessels in the west and here we are in the east side letting them do as they please while we just look at them waiting for something terrible to happen. Always "react" never "pre-emptive"

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has reported the presence of an unauthorized Chinese-flagged research vessel, identified as “Shen Kuo,” in the vicinity northeast of Viga, Catanduanes. The vessel was first sighted on April 25, approximately 60.9 nautical miles east off Rapu-Rapu Island, Albay. Despite several attempts, the vessel has shown a lack of responsiveness or willingness to engage in communication through regular radio channels.
