It hurts knowing how much pain he suffered for our sins. Our Savior endured the most excruciating pain because of his love for us. Individually. You are not a nameless stranger to him. Thank you for this incredible video. Lately I have been fascinated by the shroud. I am a Christian, but knew nothing about the findings on the Shroud of Turin. I shied away from anything to do with it up until more recently, in truth I didn't believe it was genuine. But I was wrong. I finally gave in and decided to watch various videos on UA-cam which delved deep into scientific findings, I was blown away! I have to be honest it makes me shudder to think of everything Jesus suffered on the cross, the brutal scourging and crucifixion horrify me, to the point it makes me feel unwell, also has made me cry. Knowing Him personally having a relationship with Him as a born again believer, makes it so hard to take in the sheer brutality how they beat Him and nailed Him to the cross. Because I love Him so so much, it's unbearable to watch, but I think it's also a good thing to remember all Christ has done to save us from our sins. It's a good deterrent to keep us from sinning. I love what you said at the end of your video about pain, Jesus told us in His Word, the Bible in (John 16:33) In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." A full-sized 3-D computer-printed model of the victim covered by the Shroud was produced in about 2020. Even if the victim is not Jesus, just looking at what that man endured just stunned me. To know that Jesus endured that same process puts me at a loss for words.

He did not die then, it was purely a method of torture. If you look at portraits of De Molay from early 1300s, it is a striking resemblance to the face on the Shroud.

The one thing that most people forget, which is easy to do considering the image of Christ that we always see, is that he also suffered the ultimate humiliation of being stripped totally naked. Jesus had no loin cloth on as he hung on the cross.
It might be private revelation and no catholic is obliged to believe it. But Venerable Mary of Agreda, Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich and Saint Bridget of sweden all say that Christ had a loincloth as he hung upon the cross. And that the executioners tried to remove his loincloth but they couldn't, because of the Blessed Mother's intercession and that they instead raised it very high during the scourging. Maybe that's why Jesus in the Shroud has scourge marks on his buttocks. And that the Blessed Virgin covered Jesus with her Veil on the Cross. Maybe the Veil was removed when the body was prepared for burial.

Many people who suffered Crucifixion had it much worse than Jesus, Vespasian had 500 Jews crucified outside Jerusalem everyday & that carried on for months. Thousands upon thousands of people were Crucified across the Roman Empire, from Jerusalem to England. Jesus was barely on the Cross before he was taken down, many were left to rot up for God knows how long up there.

The Bible clearly says that he had a separate head covering which he left folded in a separate place inside the tomb. How is it that the face image is on the shroud if that be the case ? Just a question.

I have read - perhaps it was Fulton Sheen - that the birth of Christ as man was enough to redeem mankind. That would have satisfied God's justice, but it did not satisfy God's love. Suffering and love are uniquely combined, and correctly so. It is a great lesson. If you do not suffer for something, you do not love it. If a man or a woman refuses to suffer for their spouse, the love dies. If you love Jesus, suffering for Him is the proof of it. The Protestants, in their grave errors, have removed the corpus from the cross, and have divorced suffering from love.

As a guy who is no stranger to slaughtering large mammals, I've always doubted how the nails in the palm could really hold a person's entire body weight hanging while writhing in pain. After all, with the total loss of the legs, which would happen very soon, the weight is all on the nails through the hands. The fact that the nails went through the palms and out through the back of the wrist finally makes everything clear. He couldn't escape as His own weight would suck his hand back against the Cross, while the angle would increase tissue mass in that area to hold mod weight. You just cannot make this up!

His dislocated shoulder i believe is from when they were nailing him to the cross that they dislocated his shoulder so the could reach hos hand into the spot where they were putting the nail in his hand. The horrible disgusting things that our lord and savior had to go through was beyond cruel beyond Mortifying and even still he went through all of this for us. Sir, the items of which you speak were observed by John when he was outside of the tomb. John never says that these items were the only items present. The "napkin" is presently in Oviedo, Spain, and is known as the "Sudarium." If that napkin had been on Jesus' face when his tomb was closed, it would not have been found "rolled up" and it would not have been "laying separate." The Gospels record that Joseph of Arimathea provided a "sindone" for Jesus' burial, and that word means "linen sheet" or "shroud."

Jesus carried a full cross not a beam only and He carried it on His right shoulder. He raised their people from dead, healed and cured them and ended up killing Him in such a manner, what an evil population.
the image on the cloth doesnt look accurate. i dont know exactly how they wrapped the body but the image should be distorted. it should be a projection. spray paint a statue with slow drying paint and wrap a shroud around it and then take it off and look at the image...it will be a projection for the wrapping wraps around the body. (like how countries are distorted on a map as you take a 3D image and project it on to 2D. why does no one talk about this, please explain somewhere sometime. an after thought, i dont think God is a fan of relics, they just detract from where your focus should be, on God, not some supposed splinter from a cross or what ever
No one knows how the images were created or what the aspect of the cloth in relation to the corpse was at the time of that creation. In fact, dead human bodies are not capable of imprinting their likenesses on cloth. but this one did that, and anyone can see them.

The BIBLE is CLEAR that there was NO single shroud that Jesus was wrapped in, but linen cloths, with a single cloth or "towel" that was wrapped around his head SEPARATE from multiple linen cloths that was wrapped around his body, as John 20:3-7 states: "Then Peter and the other disciple (John) set out for the tomb. The two of them began running together, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter and reached the tomb first. Stooping forward, he saw the linen cloths (PLURAL, "linen cloths", Greek othonion, meaning "a linen bandage, strips of linen") lying there, but he did not go in." "Then Simon Peter also came, following him, and he went into the tomb. And he saw the linen cloths (PLURAL, "linen cloths", Greek othonion, meaning "a linen bandage, strips of linen") lying there. The Shroud of Turin (that is 14 ft long) has been shown as a fake, dated around the 13th/14th century C.E. by three prestigious laboratories, at the University of Arizona, at Oxford, and at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, with each not revealing their results, but were each sent independently to the British Museum for certification in 1988 C.E., whereby the Shroud of Turin was dated as from 1260-1390 C.E. But Catholics (and others) will reject the sound evidence and still cling to the false belief that it is "the image of Jesus". 1. The "other disciple" saw some linen strips "lying on the ground." Haley omits that detail because he knows that Jesus' body was not laid on the floor of the tomb, but on a ledge in the back. Those "strips" had been used to secure the Shroud to the corpse. They untied themselves so that the Shroud could flatten out for the recording of the images. Those that doubt that this is possible do not undertand God's power. 2. If that second cloth had been on Jesus' body when the tomb was closed, it would not have been found "rolled up" and it would not have been "in a place by itself." That head-cloth is now known as the "Sudarioum" and is in Oviedo, Spain. 3. Nowhere in the Gospels does it say that Jesus' body was wrapped in the same was a was that of Lazarus. Mr. Haley makes unwarranted assumptions to suit his JW bias. 4. Jesus did not walk out of his tomb as did Lazarus. When Jesus' tomb was opened, Jesus' corpse was not in it. 5. It is not proven that Jesus' corpse was wrapped "going around and around until covered." That is Haley's hypothesis, but it is a false one. No one had time with the Sabbath appoaching at sundown to accomplish such a winding. Jews to this day use a linen sheet to cover their deceased for burial. The Gospels say several times that Joseph of Arimathea provided a "sindone" for Jesus' burial, and that word means "linen sheet" or "shroud." 6. In 1988 Dr. Thomas Phillips of Harvard University wrote a letter to the scientists at the British Museum in which he suggested that they consider the possibility that the Shroud's carbon fourteen content had been enhanced by a neutron flux. His letter was published in NATURE. Those atheist scientists refused to consider that idea. Mr. Haley purports to believe in the Bible. Therefore, he ought to be ashamed of himself for taking the side of atheists. The Phillips/Rucker neutron absorption hypothesis has not been falsified, whereas the Museum's hypothesis of a 14th century date has many issues. See: "The Carbon Dating of the Shroud is Explained by Neutron Absorption," Rucker, 2020. 7. The "sound evidence" of which Haley speaks actually indicates that the Shroud is authentic. The JW cult has developed a spurious depiction of Jesus that does not match that which is seen on the Shroud. That is the real reason that Mr. Haley does not like the Shroud. 8. Jesus warned us not to call others "heretics" or "renegades." Mr. Haley ought to be ashamed of himself for attacking other Christians as "unbelievers."

John then gives further details of Jesus burial, saying: "Then Peter and the other disciple (John) set out for the tomb. @@timhaley3459 Those of us that are both intelligent and know the Bible as well as the Shroud know that the facecloth of Jesus was wrapped around his head after he died but was still on the cross. After Joeseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus brought the body of Jesus into the tomb it was removed, folded, and set aside. It was never put back on him again. Had he been wearing it his image would be on there and not the Shroud. Is there any way possible that you can understand that? And those linen strips were for binding the body during rigor and for securing the shroud to his body. He was not wrapped up like King Tut!
@@timhaley3459 Both Peter and John were able to see strips of cloth from the outside of the tomb by stooping down. Therefore, those strips must have been on the floor of the tomb. Neither Peter nor John were able to see the Sudarium when they were outside of the tomb, and that was because the Sudarium was on a ledge of the tomb. Stooping down, they could not see anything on the tomb's ledges. Burial tombs had a ledge for the deceased, and Jesus' body was laid to rest on that ledge, and not on the floor of the tomb. The Shroud remained on that ledge when Jesus' corpsed dematerialized. John did not mention the Shroud because the images of Jesus' corpse on that cloth made it an object that the Jewish authorities wanted to seize and destroy. Only when John and Peter had entered the tomb were they able to see the Shroud's images, and that is when they "saw and believed" as is recorded in scripture. The "strips of linen" that John mentioned were cloths that were used to secure the Shroud to the corpse. It is a mystery as to why those strips were found lying on the floor of the tomb, because Jesus' body was not laid on that floor. The only viable hypothesis is that those strips untied themselves from the corpse and then slid to the floor so that the Shroud could flatten itself for the recording of the images of the corpse. Those who deny this possibility simply do not understand God's power over our material world.

Here he would say people, do the math! 3 days and 3 nights = 72 hours. In Matthew Jesus is telling us that Jonah was in the whale 72 hours and likewise, I will be in the earth 72 hours. Jesus dies at the 9th hour of the day or 3pm. Again, because of the special sabbath, he was buried before 6pm. If this was Friday, as most all Christians believe, than 24 hours later it was Saturday at 6pm and because the Bible tells us that the women arrived at the tomb before sunrise we can conclude Jesus was risen from the grave by 6pm. At 6pm it would have been 72 hours. In the original video - the narrator tells that photographic imagine of the resurrection needed 72 hours. As to the technical explanation - go find the original about an 1.5 hours long. Jesus was crucified on a Wednesday and just as he predicted with his analogy of Jonah, he was in the earth for 3 days and 3 nights for a total of 72 hours.

Thank you for this incredible video. Lately I have been fascinated by the shroud. I am a Christian, but knew nothing about the findings on the Shroud of Turin. I shied away from anything to do with it up until more recently, in truth I didn't believe it was genuine. But I was wrong. I have to be honest it makes me shudder to think of everything Jesus suffered on the cross, the brutal scourging and crucifixion horrify me, to the point it makes me feel unwell, also has made me cry. Knowing Him personally having a relationship with Him as a born again believer, makes it so hard to take in the sheer brutality how they beat Him and nailed Him to the cross. Because I love Him so so much, it's unbearable to watch, but I think it's also a good thing to remember all Christ has done to save us from our sins. It's a good deterrent to keep us from sinning. I love what you said at the end of your video about pain, Jesus told us in His Word, the Bible in (John 16:33) In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." A full-sized 3-D computer-printed model of the victim covered by the Shroud was produced in about 2020. Even if the victim is not Jesus, just looking at what that man endured just stunned me. To know that Jesus endured that same process puts me at a loss for words.

He did not die then, it was purely a method of torture. If you look at portraits of De Molay from early 1300s, it is a striking resemblance to the face on the Shroud.

The one thing that most people forget, which is easy to do considering the image of Christ that we always see, is that he also suffered the ultimate humiliation of being stripped totally naked. Jesus had no loin cloth on as he hung on the cross.
It might be private revelation and no catholic is obliged to believe it. But Venerable Mary of Agreda, Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich and Saint Bridget of sweden all say that Christ had a loincloth as he hung upon the cross. And that the executioners tried to remove his loincloth but they couldn't, because of the Blessed Mother's intercession and that they instead raised it very high during the scourging. Maybe that's why Jesus in the Shroud has scourge marks on his buttocks. And that the Blessed Virgin covered Jesus with her Veil on the Cross. Maybe the Veil was removed when the body was prepared for burial.

Many people who suffered Crucifixion had it much worse than Jesus, Vespasian had 500 Jews crucified outside Jerusalem everyday & that carried on for months. As a guy who is no stranger to slaughtering large mammals, I've always doubted how the nails in the palm could really hold a person's entire body weight hanging while writhing in pain. After all, with the total loss of the legs, which would happen very soon, the weight is all on the nails through the hands. The fact that the nails went through the palms and out through the back of the wrist finally makes everything clear. He couldn't escape as His own weight would suck his hand back against the Cross, while the angle would increase tissue mass in that area to hold mod weight. You just cannot make this up!

The "napkin" is presently in Oviedo, Spain, and is known as the "Sudarium." the image on the cloth doesnt look accurate. i dont know exactly how they wrapped the body but the image should be distorted. it should be a projection. spray paint a statue with slow drying paint and wrap a shroud around it and then take it off and look at the image...it will be a projection for the wrapping wraps around the body. (like how countries are distorted on a map as you take a 3D image and project it on to 2D. why does no one talk about this, please explain somewhere sometime. an after thought, i dont think God is a fan of relics, they just detract from where your focus should be, on God, not some supposed splinter from a cross or what ever
No one knows how the images were created or what the aspect of the cloth in relation to the corpse was at the time of that creation.

The BIBLE is CLEAR that there was NO single shroud that Jesus was wrapped in, but linen cloths, with a single cloth or "towel" that was wrapped around his head SEPARATE from multiple linen cloths that was wrapped around his body, as John 20:3-7 states:

"The man who had been dead came out with his feet and hands bound with wrappings (plural, Greek keiria, meaning "a swath, i.e. winding sheet"), and his face was wrapped with a (single) cloth ("cloth", Greek soudarion, meaning "a sweat cloth, i.e. towel"). Jesus said to them: “Free him and let him go.”
So, what Jesus (and Lazarus) was wrapped in was NOT even remotely a "shroud", but a series of cloths, one for the head (a towel or sweat cloth), and the rest of the body with wrappings or linen cloths, like taking a roll of medical gauze and wrapping a wound, going round and round until covered.
The Shroud of Turin (that is 14 ft long) has been shown as a fake, dated around the 13th/14th century C.E. by three prestigious laboratories, at the University of Arizona, at Oxford, and at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, with each not revealing their results, but were each sent independently to the British Museum for certification in 1988 C.E., whereby the Shroud of Turin was dated as from 1260-1390 C.E.
But Catholics (and others) will reject the sound evidence and still cling to the false belief that it is "the image of Jesus". It will be their loss, for these ones are like what the apostle Paul wrote about at 2 Corinthians 4:3, 4:
"If, in fact, the good news we declare is veiled, it is veiled among those who are perishing, among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, so that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God (and NOT God), might not shine through."
1. The "other disciple" saw some linen strips "lying on the ground." Haley omits that detail because he knows that Jesus' body was not laid on the floor of the tomb, but on a ledge in the back. Those "strips" had been used to secure the Shroud to the corpse. They untied themselves so that the Shroud could flatten out for the recording of the images. Those that doubt that this is possible do not undertand God's power.
2. If that second cloth had been on Jesus' body when the tomb was closed, it would not have been found "rolled up" and it would not have been "in a place by itself."
That head-cloth is now known as the "Sudarioum" and is in Oviedo, Spain.
3. Nowhere in the Gospels does it say that Jesus' body was wrapped in the same was a was that of Lazarus. Mr. Haley makes unwarranted assumptions to suit his JW bias.
4. Jesus did not walk out of his tomb as did Lazarus. When Jesus' tomb was opened, Jesus' corpse was not in it.
5. It is not proven that Jesus' corpse was wrapped "going around and around until covered." That is Haley's hypothesis, but it is a false one. No one had time with the Sabbath appoaching at sundown to accomplish such a winding. Jews to this day use a linen sheet to cover their deceased for burial. The Gospels say several times that Joseph of Arimathea provided a "sindone" for Jesus' burial, and that word means "linen sheet" or "shroud."
6. In 1988 Dr. Thomas Phillips of Harvard University wrote a letter to the scientists at the British Museum in which he suggested that they consider the possibility that the Shroud's carbon fourteen content had been enhanced by a neutron flux. His letter was published in NATURE.
Those atheist scientists refused to consider that idea. Mr. Haley purports to believe in the Bible. Therefore, he ought to be ashamed of himself for taking the side of atheists. The Phillips/Rucker neutron absorption hypothesis has not been falsified, whereas the Museum's hypothesis of a 14th century date has many issues.

7. The "sound evidence" of which Haley speaks actually indicates that the Shroud is authentic. The JW cult has developed a spurious depiction of Jesus that does not match that which is seen on the Shroud. That is the real reason that Mr. Haley does not like the Shroud.
8. Jesus warned us not to call others "heretics" or "renegades." Mr. Haley ought to be ashamed of himself for attacking other Christians as "unbelievers."

You can argue all you want, for John 19:38-42 says: "Now after these things, Joseph of Ar·i·ma·theʹa, who was a disciple of Jesus but a secret one because of his fear of the Jews, asked Pilate if he could take away the body of Jesus, and Pilate gave him permission. So he came and took the body away."
"Nic·o·deʹmus, the man who had come to him in the night the first time, also came, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes weighing about a hundred pounds. So they took the body of Jesus and wrapped it in linen cloths (plural) with the spices, according to the burial CUSTOM of the Jews (whereby Lazarus was also buried "according to the burial CUSTOM of the Jews")."
"Incidentally, there was a garden at the place where he was executed, and in the garden was a new tomb in which no one had ever yet been laid. Because it was the day of Preparation of the Jews and the tomb was nearby, they laid Jesus there."
John then gives further details of Jesus burial, saying: "Then Peter and the other disciple (John) set out for the tomb. The two of them began running together, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter and reached the tomb first."
"Stooping forward, he saw the linen cloths (plural) lying there, but he did not go in. Then Simon Peter also came, following him, and he went into the tomb. And he saw the linen cloths (plural) lying there. The (single) cloth that had been on his (or Jesus) head was NOT lying with the other cloth bands (plural) but was rolled up in a place by itself."(John 20:3-7)
@@timhaley3459 Those of us that are both intelligent and know the Bible as well as the Shroud know that the facecloth of Jesus was wrapped around his head after he died but was still on the cross. After Joeseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus brought the body of Jesus into the tomb it was removed, folded, and set aside. It was never put back on him again. Had he been wearing it his image would be on there and not the Shroud. Is there any way possible that you can understand that? And those linen strips were for binding the body during rigor and for securing the shroud to his body. He was not wrapped up like King Tut!
@@timhaley3459 Both Peter and John were able to see strips of cloth from the outside of the tomb by stooping down. Therefore, those strips must have been on the floor of the tomb.
Neither Peter nor John were able to see the Sudarium when they were outside of the tomb, and that was because the Sudarium was on a ledge of the tomb. Stooping down, they could not see anything on the tomb's ledges.
Burial tombs had a ledge for the deceased, and Jesus' body was laid to rest on that ledge, and not on the floor of the tomb. The Shroud remained on that ledge when Jesus' corpsed dematerialized.
John did not mention the Shroud because the images of Jesus' corpse on that cloth made it an object that the Jewish authorities wanted to seize and destroy.
Only when John and Peter had entered the tomb were they able to see the Shroud's images, and that is when they "saw and believed" as is recorded in scripture.
The "strips of linen" that John mentioned were cloths that were used to secure the Shroud to the corpse. It is a mystery as to why those strips were found lying on the floor of the tomb, because Jesus' body was not laid on that floor. The only viable hypothesis is that those strips untied themselves from the corpse and then slid to the floor so that the Shroud could flatten itself for the recording of the images of the corpse.
Those who deny this possibility simply do not understand God's power over our material world.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, that any one who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. God is Love. Eternal life is knowing God forever. Jesus said, "No greater love has one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends." Those are Jesus words and the only way for him to not be a liar, is to have been crucified on a Wednesday. What is more, the video also mentions with the name was also the date, 16th. Now, the precise date can be determined. I believe you will find in the week of the crucifixion, there was a special sabbath on Thursday. This is why the urgency to bury Christ before 6pm.

3 days and 3 nights = 72 hours. In Matthew Jesus is telling us that Jonah was in the whale 72 hours and likewise, I will be in the earth 72 hours.
Jesus dies at the 9th hour of the day or 3pm. Again, because of the special sabbath, he was buried before 6pm. If this was Friday, as most all Christians believe, than 24 hours later it was
Saturday at 6pm and because the Bible tells us that the women arrived at the tomb before sunrise we can conclude Jesus was risen from the grave by 6pm. At 6pm it would have been 72 hours.
In the original video - the narrator tells that photographic imagine of the resurrection needed 72 hours. As to the technical explanation - go find the original about an 1.5 hours long.
