Simon can't take any more comedians? I can't take any more singing acts with sob stories... This is turning into American idol. Bring on more variety acts and comedians!
The thing is music comes from dark places and good places. That's what makes a good singer and the song writing. Eminem is one of the greatest rappers and alot of his music are what you call sob stories. Just the way music is. You have to connect to it.
For real. Like it’s really unfortunate what these people go through, but what does a death in the family have anything to do with you singing a popular pop song.
I've seen Don McMillan's comedy (not in person, but on youtube) and that man managed to shorten down a 24 minute comedy show into 3 minutes. That is amazing.
Yup. Don McMillan has an impressive resume as an electronics engineer for over 20 years. The stuff he has done has impacted BILLIONS of computer users and continue to be relevant. His film and TV credits is a short, but significant list. Contrast that with Simon Cowell who has a long list of television credits, but nothing really noteworthy or memorable. At least not anything that I have ever cared about. And, he seems to have the personality of an earthworm. Simon had made up his mind about Don McMillan as soon as he stated that he is a stand-up comedian for a living and introduced his screen.
@@zz449944I’m no Cowell fan - he’s ok- but I think it’s fair to say he’s had a 30 year career in music which had probably added hundreds of millions to the economy?
@@mrhaltonok I just don't have any respect for self-pompous arrogance he and Gordon Ramsey seem to relish in. Are they hugely successful? Sure but being decent people would garner more respect from me.
Howie is also the type of person who understands and appreciates acts that are different from his own preferences and tastes. Even if Howie hadn't liked the act, I think he would have understood why people do like it, and probably would've said "yes" anyway.
It seems like he started to. A big problem for comics is too much talk or dead space between laughs. But Don is tight, and I think Simon at least understood that much.
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Don McMillan. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head.
Do you remember another time Cowell didn't laugh? When Al Unser and Mario Andretti were razing him about his driving. Now that was funny! Simon, did you have the breaks on? It looked like you were going backwards!

This is so typical of Hollywood. The celebrity judges have no grasp of reality because they live in their own little worlds and they can't relate to the comedy of life that this guy gave. Everyone in the audience, that is to say every normal person, was in stitches. Anyone with ears could hear them laughing hysterically because they finally saw someone on stage who was normal and understood life, but more importantly, found another way for us to laugh about it.
