Whoa definitely a cool JDM time capsule, since is pretty hard to find stock ones in such relatively good shape i would keep this one as it is just inside-out many of the parts and features it has are discontinued, so yeah fresh rubber, belts gaskets some new spark-plugs and fresh fluids (oil, brake oil, coolant) it is a very cool vehicle to any cars & coffee ..
The passive seatbelts were invented because at the time the use of seatbelts was much lower. The shouder belt stayed connected and moved once the door was shut as shown. They were "unsafe" because the lap belt could still be left off. I think some people got tangled up in them and choked too. Airbags were more popular because they weren't annoying, but also cost a lot more. Lots of airbag injuries over the years, and a number of deaths, but that is another story. Also a lot of totaled cars due to the high cost of airbag replacement in very minor accidents. On the plus side, they have saved the lives of a lot of people especially the ones that ride around without a seat belt.
I’m 38 years old and I’ve had my TikTok since it started. I’ve NEVER went to someone’s page and looked for a UA-cam link and watch a WHOLE video full through except for this one! This video is SOOOO AMAZING I had to subscribe! You convinced me to start watching others UA-cam!
Hi gang . I'm a 67 y.o. man who bought a 1996 Nissan d21 pick-up new ( 346,000 mi. ) now and I'm noticing a lot of off the shelf parts used in both vehicles . Love that KA24-E engine . Same 5 spd manual transmission , 1st clutch job done at about 327,000 mi. I'm crazy for that vintage Nissan ! Enjoying your videos ! ❤ ..
Nice to see a 240SX that hasn't suffered through a few generations of teenage ownership - definitely a unicorn. Love to find a clean, stock Eclipse from that 95-99 era.
I bought a new 1990 240SX, red, 5spd, coupe, base model for $13k. Beautiful car, engine and transmission was very smooth, loved that car. 140hp was not bad at all back in 1990.
I had a 92 240sx convertible(220k miles and looked like new) that was sadly lost when someone drove into me and totaled it. I miss that car alot...this brought back alot of memories. Thank you. Love watching your videos every saturday.
Great vid' as usual, keep it up guys. I like the fact that you cleaned the carpet that would need replacing, as if the owner can not get a replacment it can be used a template by a capet maker 👌👍👍
Wow I can't believe how nice the interior came up, especially the seats. Bravo guys. Have had my 98 240sx for 20 years and I couldn't imagine it sitting in a barn for almost 10 years longer.
So satisfying! How far Nissan has fallen. This will fetch a nice price too. You guys are the best detail channel on UA-cam. Stay humble and be good to each other. Much deserved success.
This brought back memories of my teenage years in the 90s. I started driving in 1996, my best friend had a 240 and I ultimately owned a used one too, briefly a few years later.
The word "cob" historically referred to a spider, derived from the Old English "cobba." Cobwebs are typically associated with the webs spun by spiders, particularly those that are abandoned or old. The term has evolved to describe any tangled, dusty web-like structure, not just those made by spiders. Cobwebs often appear in corners and undisturbed areas, contributing to their association with neglect.
OMG..Hubby got t-boned in his BRAND NEW '89 240 SX. Got the ins. $ and went for the '90 Z300. Had to sell it within a few years because we couldn't fit the carseat in the back for our first child! Man I loved that car 🥰
This is fantastic to see stock example. I have a Honda ep3 with 100k miles that is virtually stock, I’ve owned it for 18 years and never had money to modify it. I’m kinda glad now because it’s rare to find a clean, unmodified one.
I owned the same '89 model in the off white color, 5-spd manual. It had 79K kms when I bought it used in 1995 as my 1st car. The Canadian spec model had the manual front seatbelts. The KA24E SOHC engine only had 155 hp but torque was about the same so it had awesome pick up from a full stop sprint. What it lacked in hp, but the 50/50 weight distribution made up the fun-to-drive in corners and winding roads. I could never remember why I sold it in Dec 2000.
Awesome video! a 240sx is my dream car. I started my detailing business about 2 years ago was just having fun at first cleaning peoples cars but now im really into it! LOVE your videos!
At 11:56 Hahahahaha!!! Classic clip for a future "montage" video!!! Oh man..... us men.... the littlest things like that will be funny until the day we die!!! 🤣🤣👍🏼👍🏼
I have a real soft spot for this Gen of the 240SX This car was my 1st big purchase after graduation in 94. So many fond memories of me and my now wife wife going on dates and my friends always wanted me do drive when we went somewhere, lol. I would love to own an unmolested one like this again someday.
Actually, I seen similar seatbelts like that in police cars when they put the people on the back seat so basically they really didn’t discontinue it. It’s usable if you get locked up and end up in the backseat of a police car.
Why someone would just abandon this after a few years is beyond me. For its time and class this was a great vehicle. Stylish and sporty. Those seatbelts were pretty popular in that era my friends Ford Probe GT was the same. Nice find and superb clean up fellas.
My cousin had a 200 SX (basically same car but with a 1.8L 16V Turbo engine with 169 HP here in Europe) and it was a 1989, i think. It was so much fun and it was the same colour as this one. Brought back memories...
awesome videos love seeing old cars coming back to life. always loved the 240's they are great cars. this came out really clean. can't wait to try the cleaning stuff i bought.
can you believe i started in the morning and i finished now, damn. i love that paint, it looks so cool on that car and despite the environment it held quite good. with some minor repair, she could hit the roads in no time.
I had a maroon '89 240SX and it had the auto seatbelts. In Oregon in those days there was a huge push for seatbelt safety, so we left them in place and never strapped the lap belts... not the safest way to travel, but like you said- less concerned with safety back then and it kept us from getting pulled over.
I used to own a 1990 240SX And it's very rare to see one that is not rusted out and in this condition and stock. It's a fun little car for a daily driver not the most powerful engine but a nice car.
Another safety issue related to the automated seat belt was the position of the upper buckle when driving. My son was t-boned in an early 90's Mazda Protege that had this belt system and the buckle did significant damage to his left temple, shattered eye socket, and a gash from his eye to his hairline. I also think that people would skip their lap belt and only use the automated shoulder belt. As you can imagine in a heavy collision, your lower body could still slip under the dash while the upper belt was under your neck. Probably worse than not having any belt on in some cases. Nice job on the detailing! Well done.
Nice work! Those 240 SX Nissan were cool cars ! I had a buddy that had one and it was a a fast car for a stock car! Don’t care for any of those jdm cars, they have never impressed me but looks like the younger generation is crazy about them for some reason!
Back in the day those were what parents bought their daughters as a going to college car. The 240, 260,280 and 300 were cool cars the 240 were girl cars. You did a great job cleaning it up. Well done.
I need to stop eating when I watch your videos! But I really enjoy to see those great cars that bring me back beautiful memories! By the way one place that needs to have a good cleaning is the vent tubes for the fan heating or the a/c because it could be really unhealthy when it will be turned on.
I had to look it up when you asked 😂 The main difference between a cobweb and a spider web is that a cobweb is a spider web that has been abandoned and is now covered in dust, while a spider web is a web that is still in use and is clean
Hey guys The engine designation for your US spec car is a KA24, a 2.4ltr single cam non turbo Down here in New Zealand we had the 200SX. Same car but it was a general export model with the CA18DET engine. This was a 1.8ltr twin cam with a turbo
You didn't ever have to buckle the door seatbelt, you just left it attached so people never buckled the lap belts. That's why they were deemed unsafe becase people would fly out of their seats in an accident.
Most of the time I am not all that impressed by your work, but enjoy the before and after shots. Start using a sqweegi for your final wipe on the inside of your windshield. Also, show and do detailing on the wheelwels of the vehicles. I was entertainingly impressed with this car. Thank you and beautiful detailing expertise!
I had a 1992 Ford Probe with seatbelts just like this. I never used the lap belt, always just the automatic belt. It was a great car and I drove it for 11 years. The only reason I got rid of it was because, like every Ford, the transmission started slipping.
Man if that’s the only real rust to speak of on a 35 year old Nissan that sat in a barn for 28 of those years, they lucked out. You can’t really ask for much more than that!
I watch on my TV so I rarely view the comment section. That being said, now that you have a complete line of your own chemicals, could you possibly every do many videos list each cleaning supply on the bottom of the video as it's being used? I have no idea how much work that would be during production but I would rock to see it "real time" as we're watching the video. Love the channel!
You have a great following and offer great content. Now I know this time of year the weather is cold and wet, but how about a video of you cleaning under your wash bay mats. After all of the cars you’ve cleaned, I’m sure there’s something dirty underneath your wash bay. How about a quick video on that?
Great job on this one! Never thought I'd see a stock 240 in such great shape. Gotta be one of the few left for sure! P.s. I'll make sure to always clean my gas hole. 😂
Luckily those nasty seatbelts were never mandated in Canada. Nice find on the 240sx. They were popular here as well. Got a chance to drive a roached out JDM 180sx turbo. Now THAT was fun!

I’d love to find an unmolested bone stock 240sx!
Teenagers kill cars 😂
I fixed up cars as a teenager. 😁
Same, would love to find a Eclipse from that same time period as well and as clean as possible
Can guarantee that car is fully rotted underneath
It's funny to see Mike happily nerding out on the 240's tailend and taillights.
That gashole bit was HILARIOUS! I want more dirty gasholes! 😂🤣😆
I bought a new 1990 240SX, red, 5spd, coupe, base model for $13k. Beautiful car, engine and transmission was very smooth, loved that car. 140hp was not bad at all back in 1990.
Do you guys have any plans for a video to show how you cleanup the floors of the studio from all the mess that drops off the cars?
You guys do good work, but leave the inner fender wells dirty.
I had a 92 240sx convertible(220k miles and looked like new) that was sadly lost when someone drove into me and totaled it. I miss that car alot...this brought back alot of memories. Thank you. Love watching your videos every saturday.
Thx RJ for the call to clear up my order! It was great to see this level of customer service! Jason from Maryland.
Great vid' as usual, keep it up guys.
I like the fact that you cleaned the carpet that would need replacing, as if the owner can not get a replacment it can be used a template by a capet maker 👌👍👍
Congratulations on the new house, RJ ! 👍

They were top in the 90s..........then Renault came along.
Most satisfying pressure wash that you've ever done.
Congrats to RJ on getting his new house and for letting 1.19M subscribers into his bedroom 😀

The first thing you see as you walk into his new home is a brand new 75" 4K TV. Someone has their properties straight! 5:08 😂😂😂

90 300ZX is known as a Z32.
Just saw the mini clip on facebook and i had to IMMEDIATELY find myself over here..really awesome finding a stock 240. This would make a sweet build 🤤
This is fantastic to see stock example. I have a Honda ep3 with 100k miles that is virtually stock, I’ve owned it for 18 years and never had money to modify it. I’m kinda glad now because it’s rare to find a clean, unmodified one.
Wow, I was not expecting the color to be that grey… another amazing detail !!
Those were such popular cars in their time, but you never see them anymore, great job bringing this one back to life!
Cleanest transformation yet. The carpets looked mint.

I bought the precursor to this, a brand new 1988 200SX. Loved that car. Kept it MINT. You don’t see them around anymore. Wish I still had it
16:11 - Wow!!! Just, wow!🙌
Great video!! In my personal opinion; in addition to your awesome detailing, by thoroughly cleaning the wheel wells makes a fantastic result!!
This is bringing back so many memories of my first car. My '84 Nissan Pulsar, that was a sweet ride. 😍

My parents had a 91 Honda Accord that had that seatbelt feature. I always liked it as a kid and thought it was cool.
That untracked dash is almost priceless now! 27:41
Dude I would pay Santa to deliver RJ under my tree this Christmas. That dude is so 🔥🔥🔥🔥
My cousin had a 200 SX (basically same car but with a 1.8L 16V Turbo engine with 169 HP here in Europe) and it was a 1989, i think. It was so much fun and it was the same colour as this one. Brought back memories...

nice.. I had a 1990 240SX Coupe.. red.. sold it for a more snow friendly vehicle when I moved north in 1993. loved that car.
Congrats on all the achievements/accomplishments! The new house is gorgeous!

Awesome video as always. Brought back memories of my Red 1993 S-13. Congratulations on your new house too!
Always wanted the 240 …up until the 280. But what an amazing car; love the headlights!
Now thats a clean gass - hole 😂🤣.....ThanX for sharing.....🔥🔥🔥❤️👍🏽💯😁
The cleaning of the rear cargo mat was extremely satisfying
that cleaned up alot better than I ever expected!!!
Cleaning the seats was very satisfying.. good job !
Fully enjoyed the video,
Although not cleaning the wheel wells was killing me😂
Great to see a 240 SX. I really amazing car and you guys hit a home run with the detail
Back in the day those were what parents bought their daughters as a going to college car.

The main difference between a cobweb and a spider web is that a cobweb is a spider web that has been abandoned and is now covered in dust, while a spider web is a web that is still in use and is clean
That thing was cleaner than Skeeters Peter when you were done with it.
Haha skeeters Peter is a great line, going to have use that one !

Nope, I always used the motorized belts. Loved the feeling of the added security.
One of my favorites. Great car, and the way it turned out is awesome!
New sub! I only just found u & I love how you clean them spotless! ❤
That is a great looking 240! Very nice for the years!
So you'll know the difference, spiderwebs are where the spider lives, cobwebs are where the spider used to live.
A crack-less dash on a first gen s13 is incredibly rare! The shift boot and the black plastic trim it attaches to are almost always broken
you guys are so awesome love every car you do
My brother used to own a 1993 Acura integra and that car also had that same style of seatbelt design. I thought it was pretty cool! 😎
Great transformation and a beautiful looking 240!
My brother had one of these. It was a hatch like this, and it had the KA24E engine. My dad had the predecessor to this: A 1981 Datsun 200SX.
I enjoy watching your show. When you’re cleaning the wheels spray the wheel house and rinse .
Wow Omg!! I had one exactly like that one same color brought back so many memories!! I freaking love this cars!!!
I had a 1992 Ford Probe with seatbelts just like this. I never used the lap belt, always just the automatic belt. It was a great car and I drove it for 11 years. The only reason I got rid of it was because, like every Ford, the transmission started slipping.
Congrats on your new house. Great job on this car it was pretty dirty. Thanks guys!
Your work is amazing and all I seem to say is wow
I had a 91... 240sx it was blood red. I miss that car. Best one I ever had
I had a ford probe GT that had those seat belts. Very great video have always loved the 240SX.
Hey, there's the Forza again! I finally subscribed to this page.
Man it's 2am at night in India but still I can't stop watching 😅
Love to see this. Hope to see you guys out at our drift events in Painesville next season! Much love
Man if that’s the only real rust to speak of on a 35 year old Nissan that sat in a barn for 28 of those years, they lucked out. You can’t really ask for much more than that!
@13:38 THAT my friend, is KA24 ...... they also came with a 1.8L CA18. The KA motor can actually handle a pretty good bit of Boost.
What a wash that 240 had!!!! 💪
Nice choice MIKE..SCIROCCOS are AWESOME!!!!
This video has to hold the record for “longest time until we find out what color the car is”!
Car looks great we had a '91 in our family for many years, looks like you forgot to clean the wheel wells for the reveal?
Congrats on the new House RJ!!
Awesome transformation you guys!!!!
Bu profesyonel değil. Çamurluk içleri, teker içleri öyle duruyor tozuyla 😮
