Honestly, what I'd like to see is Imperius not fall, but slip a bit then come back from it. We already got this song and dance in Reaper of Souls and I feel like someone coming back from their darkest hour would be refreshing. Maybe give Imperius an arc where he finally grapples with his pride and attempts to look at the situation through the eyes of others. One of the hardest things for people to do is admit when they're wrong - they double down and down and down even when they actually see the merit of the other side. Admitting wrongdoing and opening yourself to the other side is possibly the most mature thing someone can do and would certainly take some doing for Imperius but I feel could be an excellent payoff if done well. Tyrael and Imperius used to be close friends and I think that relationship could also play into the Aspect of Valor's redemption.
I know this is a old comment. But I think this is exactly what will happen. At the end of diablo 3 we see Tyreal become the angel of wisdom so we know they can change roles. I think if Imperius overcomes his hate borderline wrath... The role for the angel of justice is available.......
I like how angels have this Darkness within them. Wisdom turned Death. Valor turned Wrath. And if you watch closely Tyrael is no exception to this. As the Archangel of Justice he also has a flaw. He is Arrongant. Though he became human before this nature of his could fully develop. See how he makes decisions based of off his own judgement without further consideration. As "Justice itself" as he defines himself he considers all of his decisions to be the right ones. Yes he did help save the world like that but that doesn´t take away the fact that he is an arrogant son of a... Anu? Meybe on another reality he became the aspect of Arrogance only to be later defeated by the Nephalem.
Angels can become as corrupt as the demons they face, likely as a result of them being descendants of the original primeval being. The Angels came from the part that wished perfection, Anu, and the demons came from the evil it expelled from itself, the Dragon Tathamet. Because of this link, dark and light can become interchangeable between them.
All things are corruptible Maltheal became Death to pacify all life. As all things can be redeemed if they so choose remember Lilith. Despite being a demon she loved her children, and would protect them at all costs. The Priests of Rathma aka Necromancers are the only ones who are truly right to maintain a balance between “good and evil” to stay true to their nature, and remain stalwart against corruption of “good or evil”.
Granted Lilith once again succumbed to her demonic nature she still ruthlessly tried to defend the Nephilim when Inaruis’s followers suggested that they be destroyed.
It's funny you mention them both because I was thinking about how tyrael being able to pick up imperius's staff when they fought was similar to captain america being able to pick up thor's hammer as captain america is for justice and worthy of a weapon that isn't his just like tyrael was worthy and how he is for justice.
What really gets me is that Imperius clearly wanted Tyriel to come back to his kin and work along side them, but he already was on the warpath and had to stand firm to what he said. remember, they were basically the best of friends always seen fighting alongside eachother.
I actually don't see a downfall, it's more a redemption through growing up. I believe that Imperious is learning to accept the nephalem toward the end. His pride won't let him admit it, but he realizes he needs the nephalem to kill Malthael.
He just hadnt the balls to do whats necessary thats why he had to leave it to the Nephalem.Lets face it:Imperius has reached his Limits he was supposed to be the greatest warrior of Creation but the Nephalem stand outside that ranking and deep down within he feels like he is of no use anymore after getting his ass kicked by Diablo and later not been able to stop Malthael.
I don't believe that was the case. He could have defeated Malthael but he didn't want to. He left it to the Nephalem because he didn't want to kill one he saw as a brother. However maybe seeing what Malthael became will change Imperius.
GMorgan84:He could NOT have defeated him.Malthael as the Aspect of Death was at the same Level at least like Diablo as the primal Evil. And btw.trying to stop him does not Always means killing him.
What i always found dumb in the diablo lore is that when the angels voted to see if they should intervene with Mankind or not, they made a pact to prevent any interference with mankind proposed by tyreal, but just after that tyrael went behind the council back and not only did he intervened he even created a whole cult to "protect" mankind, and after he destroyed the worldstone and was reborn in the high heavens he called imperius a coward for keeping his promise (one that he didn't want, because he wanted to destroy mankind to begin with) and people call imperius the asshat, when tyrael is the real hypocrite son of a b*tch.
He also technically handed the black soulstone right to Malthael by taking it out of heaven. Granted he wasn't trying to do that and he did try to fix it.
The treaty was à ruse so that thé démons could spread their influence among humans. Once tyrael saw that why, would he follow the treaty ? If the demons manage to bring the nephalems to their side heaven would be destroyer.

@Marnige I would argue they were worse since they caused the issues in those books to begin with because they were bad parents. On Imperious, well I think the issue is he sees in black and white. He only sees the demon influence in humanity. He doesn't see that they can be good as well. Though even Tyrael said in the end that he was worried about what the hero would do since he/she proved themselves but they are a human so he could screw them over just as easily.
I really don't like how so many of the Archangels end up going bad, while the prime evils are not only completely pure in their evil but keep coming back from supposed finnal death over and over. Is heaven supposed to be a match for hell or not? Make up your mind blizzard.
It's as Tyrael says, humanity is their best hope. _...And, at the End of Days, Wisdom shall be lost_ _as Justice falls upon the world of men._ _Valor shall turn to Wrath -_ _and all Hope will be swallowed by Despair._ _Death, at last, shall spread its wings over all -_ _as Fate lies shattered forever._
It’s typical of story telling. Evil can do whatever the hell it wants whilst good is always on the back foot and requires some trash mortals to aid it. It’s getting really tiresome.
yeah...im a little bit dissapointed when he had shown his face... this may sound racist but i expect him to be a white dude(im asian)... you cant really blame me but as a kid back then all you can see in the movies are angels being in white skin... so yeah lol...
@@ritzroldennalpajora4742 Well it makes sense, we associate whiteness with purity, goodness, and generally all things divine. Not for any racial reason, but for simple evolutionary reasons, this makes it logical that whites seem inherently more angelic to us. I don't however think that that's purely the reason for your disappointment, I think this is a case where reality can never live up to imagination. His face being hidden in darkness allows us to imagine anything we want, and just like when a movie doesn't show a monster, our imagination is always better than reality. On top of that comes the fact that they didn't pick a particularly angelic looking black dude, who looks like an average, scruffy, 40 year old dude. Had they given him a perfectly clean, perfect skinned black dude with flowing black hair I think you would have been less disappointed. There are simply aspects that we associate with perfection, had Tyreal been an overweight slob with a receding hairline, a weak jaw, with half his teeth missing, with boils on his oversized nose, we'd have been disappointed. Even so, I understand why they chose this look, it's to make his "mortality" more evident, he's truly "one of us". He's not some ubermensch, he's just some random dude, no prettier, or cleaner than any other. I think his mundane look was chosen to reflect that. Still disappointing though.
The Angles are arrogant. The demons are more true to their nature than the Angles could ever be. The Prime Evil has been unleashed once more due to the avtions of the "most holy" Angles.
What if in Diablo IV, Imperious becomes the Angel Of Wrath? I mean, in the game, the developers did state that the Diamond Gates of Heaven will be closed. But, why? My theory is that, since Imperious loathes humanity, he will order the gates to be closed. When he finds out that Lilith is summoned, that’ll push him over the edge, and the angel of valor will truly become the angel of wrath. His fall will be complete. But, that’s just my theory.
Lol Diablo will never be forgotten by them. The fanbase is too large. They are just taking their sweet time writing the new game’s story. I have faith in Blizzard that it will be beautifully done.
Possum Fury You know it will be. I fell in love with 3, and I've got high hopes for 4. I'm glad it was my first Blizzard title, I don't regret it one bit.

@ dreadpages: Not true. In the games for example it was mentioned, that the angels expected Izual to be reborn at the arch, but it never happened, probably due to his corruption. Death for angles usually is not permanent. Inarius, after he was captured by the deamons, also expected to be killed and to "respawn". Its the same as with the deamons really. Tyrael also reformed himself after the destruction of the worldstone.
also, Mal T is the Arch Angel of Wisdom. wonder if he knew the outcome of reaper of souls to forward ahead the 4th series of the saga and the blacksoulstone might be the yin or yang to the worldstone only on a darker side of warping reality. just maybe Mal might be the martyr to the story.
Wait so what did Imperius do that was so bad? I haven't really seen him do anything particularly bad aside from talk crap. He hasn't gone against the votes that were held and he did help the Nephalem when they went after Malthael.
I think it's pretty obvious that he is Lucifer the perfect archangel strong smart and beautifull also he put himself above justice and judgment as we saw in diablo 3...he will become the new fallen angel
Can we say that imperius like a big bad baby of angel like he do whatever to eliminate the demon while other member of the council are stoping him from doing that tyrany decision
Diablo 4’s final boss will be imperious taken over by the Prime Evil Diablo. Meaning Diablo takes the ultimate body for his own. He’ll look like an armored Prime Evil Diablo.
Ever since I met Imperius I wanted to beat him down. For an aspect of valor he is very pig-headed which is his major downfall. I watched a video of making of reaper of souls, and initially the devs were going to have Imperius be the big bad guy with Malthael be a side bad guy pulling strings from the background. The devs scrapped the idea because "it didn't feel right" to them, I would of liked it if they had switched roles for them and made Imperius the second to last boss or something, that would have been a more satisfying end to the game to me.
32roadsters 1 Shouldnt have fucked with the black soulstone arc period. Would have been much better to forget it til Diablo 4 and focus on killing Adria saving Leah for the xpac. Would have been much better.
What if Diablo is the good guy? and the soulstone holds Sanctuary together but only if its with diablo . The story is told from Horadrim perspective the playable characters are murderous villains , remember the talk of the dark riders (might be disguised horadrim provoking a fight) The Hero Archbishop Lazarus tries to broker a peace-deal only to be named a terrorist and attacked by the self righteous King Leoric and Albrecht (that kills diablo and sees the truth of the world in the soulstone thus shoving it up his head) I would be more excited to play against the evil Horadrim guys instead i mean look at blizzard team they are evil Online only Drm diablo 3 and a mobile microtransaction always online game . Play as an agent of Diablo Lord Of Terror a terror that is more like a balance virtue THE GUY IS NOT TRULY evil he teaches people about the dark exile The Horadrim are a dangerous sect who started an unnessesary war that led of the destruction of Tristram .
Know this and imagine starting a new game on level 16 with diablo being the equivalent of Kain the elder but telling you all sorts of truth along you there will be Gharbad , Maiden Of Anguish , Lazarus , The Undead King Leoric But your characters to choose from Dark Knight Succubus and Lich the goal would be to get up to tristram and Destroy the 3 Horadrim hired bounty hunters along the way there will be books with horadrim propaganda all kinds of heroes attacking and all new quests , this can be done with freeablo. Put the Arcanes Valor quest in it but the Hero Of Light will not attack you in diablo 1 the hero of light attacks thats how i knew i played as the bad guy

i think the lack of combat drove imperious mad angles and demons aren't like humans they are defined by their roles and trying to deny those roles is like torture to them so when imperious made that deal to end the angle demon war it was literally torture every day he wasn't dispensing holy wrath
It feels like angles always turn evil but demons never turn good.
Lilith would like a word with you, Soon™
@@IamMonikaDLC Lilith is good? She sure banged alot of people though, angels and humans alike
@@IamMonikaDLC post Diablo 4 trailer spoiler: Lilith is the big bad.
As much as I disliked imperious due to his attitude and arrogance, he dosent deserve this, and in the end I respect him enough to hope that we might be able to save him.
Save him and than what?We already safed his feathered ass once and what did we got in return?Nothing. He just stood there while Maltael almost destroyed all humanity. After saving the heavens from becoming Penthouse hell it would have been nice to see some revange but no.
Marnige:In comparison to the Neohalem he IS weak. And Deep down within he knows that. The fight against Diablo an Steroids has shown this clearley. He is just not able to see the truth like Tyrael did,Humanity is the only hope for the heavens to survive and it will not help that Imperius hasnt done a Thing to Prevent Malthael from killing countless of humans. But anyway I wouldnt demand him to bow befoere me just the recognision that the Nephalem saved him and heavens as well.
So THE NEPHALIM IS US! WOW... concludes a long debate.
I agree with you mortal
Its surprising no one had any sympathy for Imperius simply trying to protect his people. So to speak .
Well except Inarius
Gungnir, mjolnir AND the Reality Stone?! Wow!
Please Blizzard we need him in the Nexus
I really don't like how so many of the Archangels end up going bad, while the prime evils are not only completely pure in their evil but keep coming back from supposed finnal death over and over. Is heaven supposed to be a match for hell or not? Make up your mind blizzard.
It's as Tyrael says, humanity is their best hope.
_...And, at the End of Days, Wisdom shall be lost_
_as Justice falls upon the world of men._
_Valor shall turn to Wrath -_
_and all Hope will be swallowed by Despair._
_Death, at last, shall spread its wings over all -_
_as Fate lies shattered forever._
It’s typical of story telling. Evil can do whatever the hell it wants whilst good is always on the back foot and requires some trash mortals to aid it. It’s getting really tiresome.
@@Tommybotham The alternative is a boring Mary Sue.
@@AdnanAli-rb3lt Or just Heaven and Hell being equally strong, but the Prime Evil tipping the scales in Hell's favor
I expected Tyrael, but i got Tyrone
yeah...im a little bit dissapointed when he had shown his face...
this may sound racist but i expect him to be a white dude(im asian)...
you cant really blame me but as a kid back then all you can see in the movies are angels being in white skin...
so yeah lol...
You both are terrible...
Tyrone like from ownagepranks?
Ritz Roldenn Alpajora eat ur heart out Asian. The “game character” is black. Lol
That sounds like a solid theory in my opinion.
Curse You. Now I have to go find all those cutscenes!
Man watching this makes me really look forward to Diablo 4. (Not the immortal.)
More Diablo lore!
Love the art works ,,
*destroys all the demons surrounding me* “I will not thank you for helping us” *leaves*. DEEP down he low key cared about us 😂😂
The Tragic Downfall of a Forgotten Game by Blizzard
franchise'
THE ONE THAT GAVE BIRTH BLIZZARD.
The autism seeping from your comment is too much to bear.
How long did StarCraft take to get a 2nd game? Give it sometime dude.
thats honestly sad... i don't think imperius will ever find peace within himself at this point
Sounds exactly like the theory I spoke of after seeing that short animated flashback to the days before the soul stones, and the eternal conflict.
We can imagine more or less how the diablo 4 story is going to be set
Wow this is something
wait a min
it was imperious who killed Diablo in the first place, while aurial told him, making him imprisoned, we would change the tide of war into our own favor
it was imperious who doomed everyone in the heaven and let the diablo become the prime evil
Pretty sure he killed Diablo before even diablo 1, we kill diablo again in diablo 2, don't we?
@@markmoore4079 It would not have been nescessary when he would sit in a cell or whatever in the heavens.Maybe the hells even would have been defeated at that time.
There can be only blood for blood in their nature
still annoyed they made that god awful wow movie and can't do this insane masterpiece of a story on the big screen.
Traetuus Plays I love Diablo but wow lore is 10 times better and deeper
Half the cast wear demon makeup, the other half have no faces. :D
If only the people behind the cinematic trailers would be in charge of a Warcraft movie.. I don't care if they would work on it for 10 years, but when it would come out, it would freeze the whole movie industry in place. *looks at the Wrath of the Lich King trailer, graphics from the Warlords of Draenor trailer, or Legion, and feels from Old Soldier*
Just take a moment and imagine...
Awesome video thanks for making it.
angels just dont parish, they get reborn at the high arches in the heavens. their made from the humming sound waves out of the arch itself.
ThisIsG
Not in the fashion that demons do. A new angel gets born to replace. Not reborn.
DreadPages But at the same time they dont die as easily.
It would be nice if Imperius would use the stone and release the evil again by accident. Ending up with some sort of demon archangel.
Man, the lore of Diablo is so awesome, its just not my type of game to play
The thing is....wrath isn't necessarily a bad thing... .
also, Mal T is the Arch Angel of Wisdom. wonder if he knew the outcome of reaper of souls to forward ahead the 4th series of the saga and the blacksoulstone might be the yin or yang to the worldstone only on a darker side of warping reality. just maybe Mal might be the martyr to the story.
4:57 is that Zangetsu?
Blade of the Tribes
Twe, You'll be surprised to see Kong behind Valorous' mask.
I love Imperius for being a badass but seriously he needs a Anger Management Therapy 😑
SILENCE
Wait so what did Imperius do that was so bad? I haven't really seen him do anything particularly bad aside from talk crap. He hasn't gone against the votes that were held and he did help the Nephalem when they went after Malthael.
He is basically "I will do what needs to be done, but I will be super unpleasant about it"
@@hangmingzhang5067 imperius is cute tbh😆
I think it's pretty obvious that he is Lucifer the perfect archangel strong smart and beautifull also he put himself above justice and judgment as we saw in diablo 3...he will become the new fallen angel
Valor bordering on arrogance.
So if CURSE ENTERTAINMENT covers his lore does this mean we will get to see him in the Heroes of the Storm game?
Curse isn't Blizzard.
Point taken. It's just ones wishful thinking (?).
Curse is owned by Twitch though
I honestly did not know that. News to me. Thank you.
...and Twitch is owned by Amazon, in case you didn't hear that yet. :)
As The Prime Evils cannot die and just respawn within Ehll couldn't the same rule apply to Malthael and the Arch Angels?
Please make Diablo 4.
Joaquin Gutierrez that's blizzard's job
Its happening I think
They did
You are priceless mate, accolades!
Wow 🤩
I remember it differently!
Nice video
Imperius, the first and the leader of the Angry Angels. Before TC McQueen was born.
You definitely set Imperius up as a potential villain.
I hope so I would enjoy it to kick his ass down into oblivion once and for all and take revenge for all he has done.
All I got out of that was that Imperius has anger management issues.
Imperius is basically the Vegeta of Diablo
should make imperius the next arc boss. kinda pissed off with him
Amen to that. But I am actually pissed off with the other Angels as well.
Same except for Malthael
1:11 top left. I thought Malthael was the leader of the Angiris Council?
He was until he left and became the archangel of Death.
how can imperius be the aspect of wrath if it's one of the 7 deadly sins?
Thats where the plot twist begins.. new expansion .. etc..
I do not understand, why the prime eviles can be defeated, but never truly slain, whilst archangels can be killed forever.
That's the difference between heaven and hell. Evils regenerate while angels are replaced by new angels.
They need to add him to hots
Well i have Good news for you He's coming to PTR 2nd Jan 2019
Imperious looks cool, but he was always a yutz compared to everyone else.
Dude felt like a Yamcha.
My favourite and most relatable to me. Wrathful and all. Put him in HotS, Blizzard
Your description of the Sin war is inaccurate
Thx for great videos! I really enjoy it.
I saw there cuts from something like anime? Is there a diablo anime? Can you please answear?
There is no diablo anime. Those are just cinematic from game announcment

Can we say that imperius like a big bad baby of angel like he do whatever to eliminate the demon while other member of the council are stoping him from doing that tyrany decision
You can say that mortal but Solaris will end your blasphemy
Is it me or didn’t you see the corpse of Imperious in the cut-scene just after the defeat of Diablo??
I am not easily killed
That does not sound like Imperius becoming the Aspect of Wrat. He is just an angry angel, nothing more.
Great but at what point does he become Aspect of Wrath? Is there a new expansion coming soon? Should I be getting hyped for a trailer?
I like Imperius
Good
Pretty sure if Blizzard was to make a Diablo 3 second expansion (unlikely) or Diablo 4 (highly unlikely), Imperius would likely be the final boss.
Diabolo 4 lol
Diablo 4’s final boss will be imperious taken over by the Prime Evil Diablo. Meaning Diablo takes the ultimate body for his own. He’ll look like an armored Prime Evil Diablo.
Imperius never catches a brake
Yes
Imperius, Aspect of Valor, is daddy
Hm
Wasnt him the aspect of valor?
Yes I am
You really should have done this in a decard cain voice lol
He will be the main villian in D4
'd4
What's the difference between 'aspects of' and the 'archangel of?'
It's weird that Angels can become evil.
Or as evil as a demon
Imperius did nothing wrong
could Imperius be the next act 5 boss?
Tyreal the mastermind behinds all
Try:)
Perfect.
Is inperaus taller than malthal
We is considered to be on of the 7 deadly sins
My brethren and i Will purge All worlds from evil.
You are not Tyrael
@@ClassicClown No i'm Turiel. An Angel of Light. I get it a lot though the mortals confuse our names quite often.
I love the lore they created for the Diablo Universe. But I always wondered how can be Imperius not only an archangel, but also the leader of the high heavens. Because the archangels are born from the spine of Anu and are pure light and all that is good. But Imperius is full with hatred and pride, everything which is the best example of an evil being.
Robert Schäffer exactly.
....wait, is there a Diablo cartoon show? o.o
