    This is my favorite soup! This year I am growing krain krain in my garden, because you can't get the same taste from the frozen ones we buy in the stores.

    looks good, but this is krain krain soup. Krain krain and obiata (the palm oil soup with the meat, skaki cow foot etc )is cooked in separate pots and the obiata is served ON TOP of the krain krain.
    Your krainkrain soup does look good I must say

    Does it taste different if you just add the Kraen krain directly to the palm oil? Why cook the krain krain in a different pot? I see you did not add "lubi to the krain krain?

    • @antoinettegeorge7267
      @antoinettegeorge7267  4 роки тому +1

      Yes it does tastes differently when cooked separately.
      And I didn't add lubi on that day because the leaves were fresh and young so no need. I only add lubi if the leaves are strong.
      Thanks for watching

    I love your videos so much. I have a question; did you add any bicarbonate of soda or lubie to the Krain-krain, to make it slimy or did you just steam it?

    • @antoinettegeorge7267
      @antoinettegeorge7267  4 роки тому

      Thank you so much darling. I didn't add any of the above because the leaves were very young and fresh. If they were too strong then I would have added a little bit of lubie.

    • @antoinettegeorge7267
      @antoinettegeorge7267  4 роки тому

      That is not a stew base darling. There's water and ogiri in that pot so automatically that is not stew. Obiata is not cooked like stew bcoz it is meant to be eaten with foo foo. It is not cooked with stew base. Don't try me ooo this is something am used to, my mom cooked thousands of foo foo soups and awjo jollof before my eyes 😆😆😆

    I am Krio with roots from Allen Town snd York. It is quite evident that you my little friend do not know how to cook this sauce (Krain Krain).

    • @antoinettegeorge7267
      @antoinettegeorge7267  3 роки тому +2

      Thank God you're a Krio.
      So you'll need to watch the full title of the video and come back my biggest friend😉
      I know the alakpa is served separately with the steamed leaves on the side but I can't eat like that. That is why I blended the two later on(after preparing separately). And that is why I added "with a twist" on the title because it's my preference and as a matter of fact, most people do it like that for big events.
      Also you need to know that cooking is an art (people do how they like), it's not a commandment, do what works for you. If you add sugar and i don't like it am free to add honey instead😉
      By the way, this is not krain krain sauce and krain krain sauce is not a Krio "stronghold" lol so let's allow a "kontry" person to tell us more.
