    I remember driving thru the Petrified Forest with my cousin 45 years ago. We were driving a VW Bus and had long hair.
    I remember a Park Ranger asking us if we had any rocks or stones from the park as we were leaving. I answered, Yes sir, I got a lot of stones and it's all on film! I proudly showed him my Nikon Camera. We had a good laugh as he waved us on to be on our way. Nowadays, if I said that to a park ranger, I'd be tased and chased down by a Black Hawk Chopper. LOL
    Seriously, it was an amazing park to see. It's well worth the stop!
    BTW, the Park Ranger was very polite and had a good sense of humor.

    I remember being told how the trees soaked up water from the ground and it caused the trees to turn to stones. Then after thinking for a while and doing some research I found that there aren't any ground deposits of that material anywhere near there when I asked what happened to all that mineral laden water, they told me it evaporated. I love scientific explanations to complex problems. Why didn't it leave behind deposits that weren't just in trees only?

The gift shop is amazing having buffalo jerky, natural soaps that smell wonderful, different types of minerals that range in various colors and a cafe with a jukebox . I wanted to stay all day at this park and I am sure the money supports the Navajo people that work there. They were very helpful.

    We stopped by there during a road trip in the SW USA back in 1999. We abided of the rule of not taking anything, but then my wife locked the keys of the hire car in the boot. I walked to find a ranger and he managed to get it open. Then the whole boot was turned out to find the keys. Other people stared in disgust, obviously thinking that we had been caught stealing. Hilarious.

      The trees were buried, petrified, and finally, due to stresses on the delicate crystalline structure, fractured into pieces.

    • @michaelmathis1961
      @michaelmathis1961 6 років тому +5

      DottoRox, I believe the trees were one petrified log and the earth was uplifted or eroded and the ground supporting these heavy stones became uneven breaking the logs apart. Since they were stone and no longer wood, they broke like they were sawed.

    • @gabrielsteiger5465
      @gabrielsteiger5465 6 років тому +13

      Over time, the logs turned into a crystalline structure through the petrification process. So, with minerals, or anything that has a crystalline structure, we have what is called "cleavage". Basically, cleavage describes how a mineral breaks apart from itself. Depending on the crystalline structure, minerals will break along one plane naturally, or even multiple planes. The structure is weakest along those points...a good example is mica, you can pull that apart like sheets of paper. Same thing is going on here, except tectonic activity, people and time are doing the breaking. Would love to have seen this before people discovered it lol

      @@rawtrout007 i mean absolutely no disrespect but the mathematical odds that shifting sands would result in these petrified logs "spliting" across/against the grain (in obvious cross cuts), into closely similar lengths many times over is at best ignorant of common sense and more accurate , laughable. I will be the first to admit i don't have the answer regarding how they ended up in these short unnatural sections but I'm willing to bet my last Dollar that mother nature isn't the to blame here. Humans would be at the top of my list and shifting sands below the bottom.

    So I got to go free of all of the what's called "OPPOSITE ATTACKS" here yesterday, where they make it so that we can't be friends here, and have it, at the same time, so if 1 have it, the other 1 needs to stay without, and then if 1 misses it, then the other 1, gets to what would usually be it's birth right, as the first 1 here, so if you get it for you, then it's impossible, for the next person to get it here too, if it's between 1 Evil person, and then also 1 LIGHT person here, ok???!!! So they put a ton of those spells here, on me around, when I first came, as me here, as Jenny around, a FORGIVE dude, the 1st one, of the 8, and then the "main character" in this, of how I LOOSE it here, the whole time here too, of what's naturally MINE, and then when I can't get to it, then the other ones gets to it, EASY, and can live happily here, on my ground around, ok, if they're Evil around here, ok???!!! So yesterday, I regretted NOTHING here, of my life around, as that I'd had it good, for a being here, like these ones around, a human, and we're meant to live in a "rush of blood to the head", as what they sing about, in COLDPLAY around, when they're here, as the 3 of them there, who's LIGHT, and then 1 is DARK, and he also sings, and plays the guitar, but using someone else's voices, and also guitar playing skills, ok, and then they sing about that here, as the 3 ones, who's NOT doing that here, ok???!!! So I'm having a HARD time writing here today, so if you're part of this here, then you get a FINE around, and then get to sit it off, as that you have NO RIGHT to do this here, and then get stranded, as you around, doing NOTHING to here too, ok, as that you're not here, you're somewhere else around, doing something else here too, ok, as you around here, and not there, and not there, and nowhere to be found, as you here too, ok, so STOP DOING THIS HERE NOW, the resisting of me writing here too, ok, as you here too, ok, so STOP IT NOW, or else you're going to JAIL, ok, SO STOP IT NOW???!!! Thank you!!! So I'll continue when this is over, ok, to write more here too, ok, but his is VERY ILLEGAL, and is gonna cost you EVERYTHING, and if there's a quest here, for me to win it by, then I'm gonna go there, and pick it up here, ANYWAYS, as this is cheating, and you all know it here too, as you around here too, ok, and then I get to take your working skills, and go to hell with them here too, as you around, ok not there, not here, not anywhere, as you here too, ok???!!! So LAY IT OFF NOW, ok!!! Thank you!!! // J ... To be continued... Thank you!!! So anyways, the spells came off, and i got to go free of it, to be chased here too, in only just a few days around, as that there's nothing to hold me by here, it was all done by these OPPOSITE attacks here, but now they're off, and on Ryan Gosling here too, and a few more, ok???!!! Thank you!!! // J

    • @Jenny-et2ow
      @Jenny-et2ow 10 місяців тому

      Dinosaurs here, are they not just the insides, of the DARK ones here, and their illnesses around, that's what I think, I can't imagine, such a clumsy animal finding it's way here, to be here too, and then being extinct by an enormous "flood gate to hell, explosion" here, so that they couldn't make it, and then just died out, almost over night here too, it terrifies us, so that we do much more, of what we're TOLD around here, as us here too, as the HUMANS around???!!! I DON'T THINK THEY ARE REAL, DO YOU???!!! The pretty not man, in all of the movies here, the Goldblum dude, or so, makes these stories UP, as that he goes along here, and then pretends it's true, to the kids around here, who DOESN'T LIKE him here at all, which is a bit strange, as that he's SO UNLOVED, we almost need to go to heaven, from this kind of HATRED here, but he doesn't care, as that he's very strange around here, but then I get to take it, as Jenny here, but not any more, in only just a few days here, then it's OVER, and on to someone else's head here, who's been chosen in Evil, as a woman in the body here right now, but maybe not later, as that we don't know of the original core of it, if it's a man core, or a woman core around, ok???!!! But it's Evil here, so that we DON'T GET TO CARE, as the LIGHT ones here, at all, just be happy it's not on us, any longer, here at all, ok???!!! So let them have it, and let them be it, and let them do it here, it's ok according to the law around here, as that it's a person of the SAME kind, as the ones who's chasing it here now, ok???!!! So the Jenny chasing has gone on to someone else here now, the thing that I warned you all about, would shift and change, and has done so NOW, and is on someone else, a person from Evil here, ok, we don't know of who, but it's ok, as long as that it's from Evil around, as that they go here, like this around, and we can't stop them, here at all, ok???!!! So please help me to secure it here, for us around, in the LIGHT here too, ok, as everyone around, with safety and security on, ok???!!! Do this NOW please!!! Thank you!!! // J ... And please don't get into it, it's very DANGEROUS there, and could char down your whole lifetime here, as you here too, so don't stick your nose in it, it's gonna BURN you here then, ok, so keep it to yourself, and DON'T GO THERE, ok!!! As with everything that doesn't belong to you, don't be nosy, you're not gonna have a very good time here then, so drag it back, as the nose party here now, so do it NOW here too, and don't stick your nose into other people's business here, AT ALL, ok, it's DANGEROUS there, and you don't know what you're doing, ok, so DRAG IT BACK HERE NOW, AS THE NOSE AROUND, IT'S NOT YOURS, SO IT DOESN'T BELONG TO YOU HERE, OF WHAT'S GOING ON, AND HAPPENING HERE TOO, OK, SO DO THIS NOW HERE TOO, AS EVERYONE AROUND!!!! Thank you!!! Don't say it, just keep it to yourself, if you're not educated there, and asked to speak, ok???!!! SO SHUT UP PLEASE!!! Thank you!!! And also look if you got to go free of things here now, to be chased and to be a victim here too, as you around here too, if you've been one, to your open eyes here, ok!!! I bet ya, you got to go free!!! Thank you!!! // J

    They are branches from silicon trees, look at how they are crystallized. Carbon trees don't crystallize like that. What we know as trees pale in comparison to silicon trees. Earth has been stripped of a lot of its resources, and still is being stripped today. If there is land out beyond the poles untouched by man imagine what you'll find. Which is why it is a no fly zone because if we're able to go there we will know the truth. Love, peace, and good vibrations✌🏾️

There are several Petrified Forest here in the United States and there are some abroad. Washington state has a Petrified Forest where some trees are still standing. There was a volcanic eruption and many years later ice and water flows that took away some of the organic Ash and waste. That left some beautiful examples of petrified wood and some petrified trees are still standing

    LOL everyone upset because the trees look to be cut with a circular saw but they're supposedly millions of years old... meanwhile I'm upset they call it a forest, when its actually a desert with a few petrified tree stumps/logs. I was hoping to see an actual forest of standing trees that were petrified in place. Now THAT would be interesting and eerie sight to see!

      You brought up a good point and made me look it up online. This is what I found. Idk if it’s true but this is the reason they give for it on websites about the park
      But why do so many of the logs appear "cut"? It has to do with how they got to their present location, Parker says: "About 60 million years ago, forces of geology started the uplift of the Colorado Plateau. This area went from deeply buried to being uncovered and raised more than 1 mile above sea level. As a high point, it is continuously eroding away, exposing old rocks and their fossils, such as the petrified logs from the Triassic."
      How Did Those Petrified Logs Get 'Cut'?
      Photo: Patrick Fuchs | Petrified Forest National Park
      So the movement and erosion of the land is what caused the logs to break. And the inner surfaces where they've broken are flat because quartz doesn't break neatly across its crystal faces, so instead it snaps across the log's shortest area across - sort of like when you snap a piece of chalk, Parker says.
      "These logs are pure quartz, and to cut them would require a diamond saw," he adds. "Rock shops use these saws to cut log portions and polish them for sale," but here at Petrified Forest, this has happened naturally over very long periods of time."

    • @Morrissshadowmt
      @Morrissshadowmt 9 днів тому

      @mambamentality2417 Interesting, many look like they were cut before being petrified. The ones that have broken look broken and are not all the same size. I would say many were cut or broken before being petrified. The forces required to snap them in half once petrified would need to be great. Much more than some erosion .

      Nick Sothep they arent cut, they are broken, the natura disposition of wood cells is like microscopic bricks, once cristalized they lose their elastic properties so they just break without splintering

    • @schumannresonanceswithverte
      @schumannresonanceswithverte 7 років тому +1

      That's not a correct statement. Do you have any experimental, or other data to show this is so?
      The "splintering" is the effect of the cellulose in the tree fibres. These cellulose acts as a type of balloon, or maybe a hose is a better analogy, where once filled with water and nutrients is a very strong shape.
      As the cellulose breaks, it breaks unevenly across the cross section of the sample.
      Cellulose doesn't act as a "brick".

    • @unitybonez
      @unitybonez 7 років тому +5

      Excuse him, he is only repeating the excuse modern geologist gave to get rid of the actual enigma, which is one: who the hell sliced them? And two: how did they really turn into precious and semi precious stones? cause the official "fossil making" explanation makes absolutely zero sense, specially in this case.

      Looks like Velikovsky was right. Massive electrical discharges from other planets or comets. The entire area was petrified with the dunes deposited around it very quickly by electrical currents and ionic super sonic winds called "rivers of fire." They don't understand how it was done so they made up the story about how the trees were petrified under water and then were deposited back onto the land. How did the logs get cut up like firewood? Looks like someone was cutting it to use as firewood right before they got electrically petrified.

    • @CoryTheRaven
      @CoryTheRaven 5 років тому +5

      1) They aren't perfectly cut in slices. They are broken perpendicular to the tree trunk, but they aren't clean, perfect slices. They are still chunky and uneven.
      2) The wood in these trees was replaced by minerals. They are literally made of rock now. Rocks break in planes like this all the time.

    • @schumannresonanceswithverte
      @schumannresonanceswithverte 7 років тому

      That's not a correct statement.
      Tree fibres, called cellulose, are jagged when they break. That's the "natural disposition" of wood: the cellulose which makes up the arboreal biomass breaks jagged, uneven.
      Relative to cutting the "logs" to analyze them in a laboratory, it they were intentionally cut, there would be cut marks.
      Certainly, if cut after they petrified, then, there would be "stone dust" left from the cutting process, yet there's not any of that either.
      These broke cleanly, and level, many thousands of years ago...before the laboratory was invented.

    • @alejandrorobles6865
      @alejandrorobles6865 7 років тому

      Vert Green the tree fibers are replaced with solid sediments changing the chemical structure of the wood, it happens with all the fossils, thats why they dont have any dna, they are no longer organic, celulose is an organic compound wich is replaced with silicone and calcium, the structure is the only thing left behind, the chemical compounds are gone, fosils are not made of calcium like natural bones, they are usually made of calcite and silicium, and sometimes even quarts, thats why fossils are brittle and break apart

      @alejandrorobles6865 7 років тому

      troy wilkes no, dont worry i know why you are confused, do you know what peat moss is? its vegetation that decomposed with anaerobic processes so it pretty much doesnt decompose by bacteria but by anaerobic, inorganic proceses along the years and the celulose structures are preserved, its pretty much a very similar process, sedimet fills the cavities and the celulose is preserved, yeah i have gone camping, i've been to places where people cuts trees, believe me, this is not one of those cases, human mind tends to relate weird things to situations that had happened before in order to adapt to them, some of these logs where cut later by scientists to see their internal structure and take material to analyze in the lab
