In the year 1475 of our lord, the wrath of Dracula is unleashed into the world. Only Trevor Belmont, the last survivor of the Vampire Hunters, can face him.... but even his power alone won't be enough.

I like how some of the people in the comments section totally missed the fact that the slow dialogue boxes and bad translations were on purpose as a nod to Simon's Quest.
More like a nod to Castlevania 3, Yknow the game that the show is based on.

That's the definitely one of the things AVGN hated about the game.
I wasn't aware of this. I was getting pretty confused about why the translation seemed to be so bad.

That was beautiful. I especially loved how the dialogue had many errors, a little nod to Castlevania II.

Like everyone else says, the butchered *engrish* is a nice detail to the NES classics (not just Castlevania though. Even Ghost n' Goblins has it.)
One thing I kinda wish you did, is how you made the text scroll down like in the original.

The idea is genius already, but the Engrish really makes it even better. I laughed several times, but "we live in Gressy" really killed me.

Sounds about right. 90% talking, 10% cheap animation of action. I love the games, anything from the nes games to lords of shadow. The netflix series is bad. You can tell theres a lack of budget from how little goes on.

If this were a game, I could see it becoming a Metroidvania style NES game...

TBONE2004 It would be like a Simon's Quest, but with his own aspect and unique feeling with the Metroidvania formula in it too. So yeah, why not a nes game with this formula ?

Actually, a lot of priests (especially higher ones) are pretty smart people. They know gods and demons don't exist, but they behave the way they do as part of the criminal syndicate called "the church", which serves to manipulate and control the population. They are just playing a role, they don't believe the shit they preach. Clever foxes... I get your point though 👍👌

Jesus Christ, they went a bit overkill with the poorly translated dialogue, don’t you think? Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice detail, but I think they should make it a little easier to understand; I don’t think that CVII was this bad when it came to dialogue. Also, it’s very slow, I know CVII was as well but this is much more dialogue heavy, I had to watch this at a higher speed to tolerate it. But overall, this is an interesting video and it looks like it had a lot of work put into it.
It was pretty flawless, until the text in the city... then it was all engrish nonsense.
A Grammar Nazi would have his eyes bleeding, seeing the texts.

But one might imply the possibility of a subtle refinement with, "Engrish is the bastardization of English by a native Asian language speaker, yet the author of this video is a native of South America." It needs some editing, but should preserve the odd flavor of language in anime and old, poorly-localized NES games.

Loved this so much except the side reel animations going on for over 2 minutes which was very distracting.
It’s crazy that Konami hasn’t even tried to make a game following the success of the show, hell a second series is getting made before any word of a new game.
They need to make a game with this storyline so I can play it.

This is accurate, right down to how early translators did a TERRIBLE job with the dialog in most video games. See also: "I AM ERROR," "You spoony bard!" etc.

The church did some bad stuff.. but it was subtle in Symphony of the Night with the whole witch trials things. Here its just edgy.. and not in good way. Not Shadow the Hedgehog kind of cool. its just flat out bad. I mean maybe some priests didnt learn humility but it just seems so stupid the way it is here. Real priests i imagine would just get heated in arguments and just let soldiers do their bidding usually. The story in Netflix series is so dumb. And i hate what they did to Trevor's character. Its like he speaks like he is from post modern time of 1970s. Just dont believe its from 1400s to say the least. For its time. Castlevania 3 on NES had good graphics. Netflix series is friggin awful though
Also personally. I think abrahamic religions were made out of spite, not truth. If one looks at the history and values of it. And what if promoting some of those values does the opposite? I made a new religious cult. God of Obvious Good and Evil. The real truth

There is the possibility that your game can even surpass the original Dracula`s Curse, but I agreed with some people under my comment, you should make Trevor`s walk something more faster and put some blocks in the priest boss battle to make it more fair, because in that state there is no way no avoid his dagger, he automatically changes of direction if you try to jump over him.
(Sorry If I have mistakes, but english is not my native language)
