Trevor started out as a loner cynical drunk who didn't give two fucks about humanity, he ended up as a badass warrior willing to give his life for it, a man worthy of the name Belmont, and now he gets to enjoy with his family, you earned it, Trevor Belmont.
His character journey is absolutely inspiring.
Trevor absolutely lived up to his name as a Belmont.
His Spirit was broken, but then eventually he found the will to fight once more. you see it wasn't losing the ancestral family home that broke him it was losing faith in humanity but now he has finally regained what he had lost, and now can finally live up to the name his household once held pride In as a Belmont.
“It’s time to give this place back to people who build things. You and I are just killers of history. It’s time for us to go”
This is one of my favorite quotes in the entire season. He managed to understand his limitations and see that the others would be more suited to help others in the trials ahead. His character development is amazing
@@turma8eac and I'm somewhat convinced that it isn't his last appearance and journey. After all, Castlevania is a large universe and this Trevor is a really charismatic persona.

I like how Death fights exactly like you'd expect from a retro final boss. He doesn't move around, he doesn't dodge Trevor's blows, he just towers in the background and launches big, flashy, mostly telegraphed moves with his hands and his scythe. You could easily see this scene in a video game.

Some people are like "oh if Death is dead then does that make everyone immortal?" But the thing is that this creature, this *thing*, doesn't actually cause people to die. He is something that feeds on the death of other things. That's why he wanted to respect Dracula and his wife into the body. He wanted more food.
To add to the argument. He never truly dies on the series. More like he explodes just for him to regenerate later on. Kinda like majin boo but without the gumball e
@@erikfigueroa6390 well, it's implied that he does get killed because the knife is capable of killing *God* and death is less powerful than that
@@MathasiaJ they always implied but that thing already came back even after fighting leon, Soma, AND PROBABLY Julius. So never consider death gone for good. 😩
In the games he isn't "this thing". Death already explained why he would never die in Lament of innocence. He stated that as long as the dark lord existed and the source of the power was intact he will never be dying and will keep coming back. Death's concept will exist for all, he only favours Dracula because Dracula is the king of darkness and hence he is Death's master
God will die too, Dean.
Maybe i'm reading too much into it, but when Trevor tells Death "You don't create anything, you don't live. All you do is eat and hide," that's remarkably similar to Trevor's existence at the start of the series. All he did was eat, drink, and hide from the world, doing his best to avoid his family's legacy. That speech is his condemnation of the life he previously lived as much as it is a condemnation of Death.
Also, note that, back in Season 1, he said dying had never scared him. Back then, he didn't fear death because he felt his life was of no value. Now, he does not fear death because there are things in his life so precious that he will gladly lay down his life to protect them, and that his life had overwhelming value.
Long story short, Trevor Belmont's character arc has been a masterclass in writing over these 4 seasons.
I'd say you were reading just enough into it.
Spot on
Reminds me of the concept of Victor Belmont (not the one from Lords of Shadow), who was a character from a cancelled Castlevania game who was planned to have rejected his lineage as a vampire hunter.
The whole series is just awesome......
yeah its a form of projecting to show how much hes changed, how far hes come

@@ByllionBucks it feels like it was written by a 12 year old going through an edgy phase.
@@ByllionBucks No, some people just can't be pleased.
Mediados It's not that he can't be pleased, it's that he's familiar with the source material.
The way the characters in the Castlevania cartoon talk fits just about as well as it does as it would in LOTR. It makes sense considering that the writer said he didn't look at any of the games but it comes across as immature to anyone familiar with them.
I think they got Death perfect, an entity that’s been around since the dawn of time, was about to have Dracula give him trillions of souls… much like a 25 year veteran detective who was about to collect his pension but then found out he has to work another five years. It’s exactly how I’d imagine death talking and sounding like… pissed off, zero fucks to give, and slightly irritated by his enemies.
The only thing they messed up is that Dracula and Death aren't Homies.
@@wilfredynunez5263 And that Death is a pitiful elemental who swears like it something clever or threating.
Especially when they're actually fighting back when having almost NO chance and yet finding the way to prevail.
This fight speaks volumes metaphorically
@@bossviper2833 at first I thought “this isn’t how death should sound” but then I thought it’s been around since the dawn of human existence, and like vampires, the longer they live the more they adapt to the environment around them. One living in the Roman Empire would act much differently thousands of years later in todays environment. I think it’s the same with Death, and it was obviously very disappointed that Dracula wasn’t coming back to wage war on the humans. It’s not what expected, but he kinda grew on me lol.
@@blaydeesy2005 Well good for you but it doesn't for me.
The elegant disrispect, the swager lever 100k, the heroism, the love this dude had for his girl. In my book Trevor Belmont stands on top of the hill of what a hero should be.
Imagine LITERALLY being death, and being unable to kill one person.
But he's not literally death. He was just given the moniker. They establish that his isn't the literal concept of death just a parasite who feeds on souls. Kinda like that the elder God from Legacy of Kain. It tried to disguised itself as a godly being but it ended up just being a parasite leeching off the wheel of fate.

Death has lived long enough to not care anymore.
@@Starlight-by3cf I love it cause it's realistic. If you have existed for so long with the sole purpose of watching people die over and over and over again, everyone would lose their emotions at some point.
@@Mediados Not lose emotions, more like not give a shit about anything anymore than immediate wants. Emotions don't just disappear with time, just change for the worst.

I like how trevor doesn't just magically bullshit his way into defeating death through "the power of friendship", his attacks landed but did no damage even when he let out a furry of attacks which only blinded death (I believe death screaming is akin to a person getting ant bites: it stings but ultimately doesn't do much). It's only through the God Killer Dagger that he was able to kill him.
If this was yugioh, the power of friendship would have won every time.
plus the infinite corridor escape
He actually did damage him though,it just took a while. Just like a classic videogame boss fight, he was unfazed by the first two attacks but the 6th and 7th he felt damage which is why he was screaming and getting frustrated, then hit him with a desperation attack to get the battle back in his favor and slow Trevor's momentum. @@thecockneyterritory4869 Yeah, the more intense fights seemed to become more like blurry watercolors or something as the show went on, I prefer still to this day Trevor's fight with Alucard in season 1. It was the best and cleanest before the fights got more like that.

Personally I prefer the fight between the trio and Dracula.
Trevor is inspiring AF. I instantly connected with this man from the get go. I watched it in Spanish. He had this tough guy yet dry tired worn out macho voice. Made everything better. When the tough gets going Trevor gets tougher and seeing him towards the end just worn down beat down and him barely hanging on his pain and having to face death was just tough as nails. Proper man right there. They went they hell and back what a happy ending

Lets just take a moment to appreciate the Voice acting as well.
What a good job.
Malcolm McDowell as Varney spitting disdain to all that live in every word,
Richard Armitage bringing a complete badass to life!
Also barely in this clip but Alejandra Reynoso as Sypha!
Without them and many others as well, the characters wouldnt feel as good as they do
And fucking Bill Nighy as Saint Germain!
I half love half hate the performance of Alucard. Like it fits him so well, but he whispers everything. He never shouts even during combat, which makes it extremely hard to hear his soft tones when music is blaring and explosions going off every 5th frame.
I always thought that the show's dialogue is borderline cheesy but they deliver it so fucking well that it just works.

Who else was caught off guard by Death calling living things 'fuckers'? Man, this guy must be a frustrated being.
From his perspective it's probably the most technically accurate insult possible.

Well his f bomb was funny and awesome in its wording
I know this isn’t the point of the video, but i LOVE the animation of Sypha’s face after Trevor says he loves her. It’s so subtle and slight, but you see that dawning fear as she realizes what he’s about to do so clearly. And then instead of trying to stop him, she smiles and reassures him. I literally already know how the show ends but it STILL hurts my heart. Beautifully done.
I noticed the subtle change in her eyes, like a happy sad, so fitting. Animators and voice actors worked great together and I'm very thankful for their work.
I feel like they missed the opportunity to go with his line from season 1 - "I'm Trevor Belmont of House Belmont and death has never frightened me".
wasn't it ''dying has never frightened me''
that's called "Foreshadowing". if he just straight-up reprised the line, it'd kind of ruin that.
Here's what I think should have happened: death lifts up his scythe preparing for the final attack and says" I'm going to eat your soul, shit it out and use it to smother your f****** girlfriend too death". cuts to a few pans of sypha.
And death says " besides you're just a human being and I AM DEATH" while trevor is falling down. It Cuts back to Trevor's line from the first season and says "and death has never frightened me" Trevor then dodges the scythe and the rest of the fight plays out
@@Lavamario1 you’re right. But damn it would have been an amazing call back and some damn good character development at the same time.
They kinda did callback tho, in the end when Trevor said to sypha what he feared most was that she'd name the baby "Trefor," rather than actually dying or facing death in the first place
The fact that a mortal man literally beat the living embodiment of *Death* is so iconic.
He isn't actually the embodiment of death though; he's more of a death elemental, as he's an elemental spirit that feeds on life.
thats not death. thats just a spirit that calls itself death. its not the grim reaper himself
It fits the theme of the show so well.
with a dagger designed to kill god no less.
In the show, Death is just a being that feeds on Life Energy. In the games, Death is literally Death.
well this is a true belmont when you play castlevania you will solo the final boss, with pure skill
All its missing is the Jump-Canceled attacks lol
@@lucylu3342 He kinda did one tho! When he was free-falling and did the cool spin-flip aerial maneuver to kick the chain at Death! That's my favorite part of the entire battle; even free-falling Trevor is still a skilled enough whip-fighter to recover ,adjust, and score a direct hit while plummeting towards certain death. Literally.
I LOVE just picturing this fight like it's in an actual game scenario. XD This series did the franchise so much justice.
I have to get “Oi, Death” tattooed on me at some point in my life. So badass. Such a great show I’ve rewatched it so many times
Oi death on the front I want a word with you on the back
As a castlevania fan for all my life ive always wondered why Death would agree to be Dracula's underling. The reason they give in the show makes a ton of sense, using him to cause death on a mass scale so that he can feed forever.
"From this day forward, the Belmont clan shall hunt the night."
-Leon Belmont, the first (chronologically) to slay a vampire, then death immediately after.
And the builder of Belmont Hold within the animated series
How insane was this fight? The animation, the voice acting, the lines, everything. It's easily one of my absolute favourite moments in anything, ever.
Please go watch attack on Titan if you want to see high quality in Animation, plot and voice acting. Everything is beyond perfect!
I beg to differ though since AOT has one of the best plus I think this is lacking on audio bass which kind of lacks depth on how far or near it is and thats what also troubled me is the its less iconic since its more likely to be based more from real sounds instead of making something better to be creative and Iconic as I said but I have no problems on the story anyways its a win/win I guess.
May i recommend Made In Abyss? for fight scenes id say they surpass aot in terms of music and in some scenes animation
the death cursing too

It does look like an anime, but yeah it isn’t. But im fine with people calling it an anime due to how close it is
@@thecockneyterritory4869 just call it an American animation lol, Anime means Japanese animation so it would be weird
@@illsmith4076 American Animation has a much more mature vibe than cartoons lol i love it
@@illsmith4076 in Japan, they don’t call ‘anime’, anime because it’s specifically “Japanese” animation. They only call it anime as an abbreviation to the word “animation”. In japan, they would call any other foreign animation, anime. Regardless of the fact that Japanese anime are made in Japan, you cannot deny the fact that they are still cartoons, because you would be watching an *animation*. So it makes no difference to call Western cartoons, anime because it’s just an abbreviation and you’d be watching an animation regardless of the country it’s made in. :)
Edit: and this is off topic and just something random that popped into my head ( and in no means am I targeting anyone on this comment section lmao, just talking in general) but I think that why most Japanese anime watchers get so triggered when you call Japanese animation, ‘cartoons’ is because it sounds immature but they act as if their intent is to correct your terminology when in most cases, it’s just to hide the shame/humiliation they feel of watching cartoons as an adult. Which I can understand them fully because there should be no shame in watching cartoons which most even do better than series with real actors imo. But annoying thing is that usually, these people are the same ones to get all triggered when calling western animation ‘anime’ because to them, western animation is specifically titled only as ‘cartoon’. Suddenly, it doesn’t become their shame anymore because they watch Japanese animation which somehow magically isn’t the same as ‘cartoons’ to them and is for the big boys only lmao. My point is, either admit that all anime’s are cartoons or all cartoons are anime. And end of everything, hell I wouldn’t even be writing this.

I love how trevor always has some striking similarities to the biggest bads he fights
He and dracula had a similar "humanity is fucked" outlook on life in S1 and he and death just have relatively similar attitudes here
He even recognizes the similarities in both instances, and also relates himself to death by saying "we're just killers of history"
Although i think that relation is more trevor's self-hatred speaking than anything, which I certainly relate to
I love that Death, personality-wise, isn't an ancient, epic god. He's probably like anyone would become in his place: A pissed, unemotional, condescending pessimist.

Duuuuuude, yes. :D I could picture a Castlevania type scenario where Trevor has one heart left, is dodging Death's attacks left and right and pull off a win in just the nick of time. Lol
Not sure if this was intended, but I don’t see this simply as Trevor fighting against Death. This is Trevor fighting against his old self, who he used to be, and his old depression. He’s ready to overcome it and rid himself of it, knowing only he can make the choice to overcome it at the end of the day, but knows he may not win as it is a very hard battle to fight. Still, he gives it one last go, and manages to come out on top and live in a peaceful world with the people he saved and who saved him in return, finally becoming a person who can create and build things.
