When I use food coloring in the Resin Create i add the food coloring to the water weight then add it to the powder it keeps the coloring from raising to the top.

Steve, just a tip... if you decide to seal the resincrete with uv resin after it is completely dry, it darkens up even more .❤❤

Love your channel. This is a bit um out there, but I keep pet rats and made a coaster from their poops in epoxy. Turned out great! I had a broken zipper on my boot so I resined a new one to the broken part in uv. Take me nowhere!

Just be careful they don't chew on it. It's toxic to them

You should test the new “Purely Pigments” line from Colour Arte. I’ve been using them and they are amazing. You can use them in resincrete, Jesmonite, resin, acrylic pours, etc.

I've known about the cardboard (or paper) underneath, but I never remember to have it there, until I'm supposed to tap the mold, and I can't lift it anymore 😂. I like the pastel-y colours of these.

Love the experiments, maybe a colouring paste rather than the liquid. They are very pigmented.

A potential issue is that most food coloring is highly fugitive; meaning that it will fade rather quickly. Some food coloring may be somewhat permanent, depending upon what it’s made from. I know that onion skins and birch bark yield good colors. The stuff you get from the grocery store tends to not work well at all. I used some a few years ago as an experiment to do a painting. After 2 months it had faded 30% and after a couple of years, you could barely see it at all.

I have been thinking of using resincrete as apposed to normal resin as we have a little kitty cat that likes to “help” me in my craft room and I don’t want to make her sick from the resin fumes

I just got to thinking. What about pouring a very little color, then change color pour a different color over it etc. I think I’m going to try that just for fun. I was thinking a 3d effect as end result.

Acrylic inks work so well in water bated casting powders don't they. Nice one Steve. If you want vivid colours, Have you tried the Create & Bloom colours? I've got bright red, jet black... and also pastels. Really cool and they do work in ResinCrete as well as Eco Pour :) Shame you can't use a powered mixer with ResinCrete, I know some people like those though I'm with you on not liking them so much. Good to see you had similar finding to me last year about colouring these casting powders. Update - food colouring does seem colourfast - me,bers messaged to ask me if it faded - a year on still not faded so that's good info you gave here too

That wouldn't work, unfortunately 😕. Food coloring is water-based, and water and resin do not work together.
