    Hi I’m a nail tech and I use this product to make 3D charms for nail art. I use no wipe gel top coat in my mold first then a colored gel polish to create roses or bows. I think you’re actually working the gel too much. Try the gel top coat then the pigment powder then the mold-able gel. Let me know if it works for you

    WOW! I am a cake and cookie decorator, just recently becoming interested in resin. Have already begun sacrificing many of my silicone fondant/sugar molds to use with resin. Figure I can buy duplicates if I wanna use for edibles again. lol. Anyway, now you've got me thinkin' about other decorating supplies I really haven't used for awhile, and you are right. There are tons of molds like the one you used. My brain is on overload right now, and I can't get to my supplies fast enough. Thanks alot Daniel! (No really, thank you so much for sharing.) Hey a suggestion?? Try using nail/cuticle scissors when doing small trimmings on itty bitty pieces like this, that way u get to keep those precise lines u made, plus they're easier to use than the big bulky ones

    A great way to use that is get yourself some slip solution or alcohol (I prefer slip solution) and a silicone tool or a short flat brush! That’s what I use when doing nails with builder gel.

  • @2degucitas
    @2degucitas 9 місяців тому +2

    Daniel, I've used UV gel to make finger nails. It requires a liquid to help shape it with the nail brush (which I recommend). Plain rubbing alcohol will work. It helps to smooth the gel and reduces stickiness.

    Perhaps you could try using the scissors to trim the edges before opening the mold as well as cutting the petals apart.
    Rather than drilling holes, use flat backed glue on bales for earrings or necklace pendant. Or glue two bales on opposite sides of the flower to make a bracelet.

    I kept thinking roll it in a ball before you squish it! And dusting it with mica would help lol these came out so cool! Maybe even rolling it into individual balls and putting it in each petal before you squeeze it in the mold would help get the individual petals you were wanting. Just throwing things out there! Great job! I love your experiments!

      Also, it was more about the ability to create clear resin in 3D without the use if normal molds, the dusting was just an idea in the moment to assist 😁.

    Hearing you berate yourself reminded me of someone and I was mentally telling you to stop being so hard on yourself and enjoy the experiment. Suddenly dawned on me that you reminded me of me! Not sure what Mrs Cooper will say when she watches the video, but it's a cool experiment 💜
