  • Today we continue to track Tropical Storm Beryl on final approach to Texas. Beryl is still expected to be a hurricane upon landfall around Sunrise tomorrow (Monday), somewhere between Matagorda Bay and the southern part of Galveston Island.
Beryl has not intensified much in the last 24 hours, but we have definite signals the system is organizing further and is moving into a more favorable environment. The NHC still forecasts Beryl to be a dangerous category one or two hurricane upon landfall.
4-6 foot of storm surge, 8-12 inches of rain, tornadoes, and strong winds are all forecast for parts of Texas tomorrow, and heavy rain/tornadoes will spread well inland Tuesday and Wednesday as Beryl merges with a frontal system.
Thankfully, after Beryl, no Atlantic threats appear imminent in the basin for a week or more.
