- Un hongo muy común con forma de pequeña concha, abanico o riñón, pie corto excéntrico o lateral, formando grandes grupos en troncos muertos principalmente de planifolios, su carne es coriácea y muy amarga y por ello no tiene valor culinario.

Cuerpo fructífero: miden entre 1 y 4 cm de ancho. Tiene forma de concha, abanico o riñón,
La superficie es seca aterciopelada de color crema y blanquecino en los ejemplares viejos, con el margen incurvado
Láminas: Apretadas, finas, bifurcadas, anastomosadas y que acaban en el pie en una línea circular, de color crema a blanquecino
-Pie: Lateral o excéntrico, muy corto y estrechado hacia la base, cubierto de una finísima capa aterciopelada de color blanquecino a crema
-Carne: escasa, coriácea, sin olor destacable y sabor muy amargo y acre al final. No se pudre
-Comestibilidad: No comestible por su textura coriácea y sabor amargo
-Hábitat: Principalmente en ramas, troncos y tocones en descomposición de planifolios, sobre todo en hayas y robles, formando grandes grupos
-Época: Pueden crecer durante todo el año si las condiciones lo permiten, pero su ciclo principal es en otoño.
-Lugar: Río Bolintxu, Bilbao, muy común en los bosques de planifolios

The surface is dry, velvety, creamy and whitish in old specimens, with a curved margin.

-Stem: Lateral or eccentric, very short and narrowed towards the base, covered with a very fine velvety layer of whitish to cream color
-Flesh: scarce, leathery, without a notable odor and a very bitter and acrid taste at the end. Does not rot
-Edibility: Inedible due to its leathery texture and bitter taste
-Habitat: Mainly in branches, trunks and decaying stumps of planifolias, especially in beech and oak trees, forming large groups
-Season: They can grow throughout the year if conditions allow, but their main cycle is in autumn.
-Place: Bolintxu River, Bilbao, very common in planifolia forests

I quite enjoy mushrooms that grow on fallen logs in groups like this. It's fascinating how the groups will appear and sometimes look so geometrically arranged. I quite like the humble brown color.

This place is in Bilbao, it is called Bolintxu and it is 10 minutes by car from my house, which is why I visit it often and I always like to go to the waterfall. The cutting down of the Schönbuch forest seems barbaric to me and I know how you feel, since we spend some of the best times in the forests

La zona del Bolintxu es un pequeño paraiso natural en Bilbao, a ver si lo conservamos, aunque justo encima de la presa han hecho una autopista y se oye a los cohes y camiones pasar, una pena.

@@manumerino Lo vi en un cuarto muy oscuro despues algos minutos, y con ojos mucho mas jovenes. Fue casi invisable.
Curioso ejemplar Manu! Las hay a cientos en el tronco del árbol…me llama la atención que parece que están al revés: las láminas suelen estar debajo del sombreo: no es así? Gracias y un abrazo!
