Finally got around to making the sister video to the one on the MADD Leveler. I love testing out these alternate progression systems! Always makes the game feel fresh.
Max level in Skyrim: Dragons are Chickens, but City Guards are Dedra Lords?! Max level in Daggerfall: God-level gear drops more but is stupidly fragile?! Max level in Arena: Similarity to EVERYTHING but are re-skinned????
maybe it was on purpose, in skyrim and morrowind you play a "chosen one" kind of character so it makes sense for you to get really strong but in oblivion you really are just kind of some dude
This mod is pretty good, played an entire character with it and it was pretty good the progress. No need to mess with the dificulty bar or make some weird min-max strat. My only problem is that the "level as you use" philosophy is lost but it's a fair price to pay for actual good leveling.
Thank god for this man. I enjoyed leveling in Skyrim and Morrowind, but the work you need to do to get +5s in Oblivion, plus it being really easy to level up and end up weaker than before killed the game for me. I will certainly be adding this to my game.
@@randomdude2546 Yes and no. Morrowind the BS skills you lvl up counts to your current level increase even after u get the message warning you to sleep to level up (Oblivion after u get the message it all done, any skill training wont be counted). Plus Morrowind the enemies dont scale with hero level, so even if u dont optmize levelling you'll eventually become stronger.
thank you. i started on skyrim so oblivion was ridiculous for me, pulling out the notebook, doing math on how to max out my attributes by earliest level because the leveling feature scared me after my casual playthrough. (120 arrows into 2 scamps was the wake up call). finally i can take a more casual approach to the game and enjoy it, without abusing a horse for a few hours and leaving my pc on for a few days swimmin into a wall.
This is great, I've just started a new playthrough and was dreading the usual "give up and start again" trope I usually fall into when I start getting to level 25ish. Awesome you can use it with a current save. It's a shame this never came out earlier than now though as I feel a lot of people could have benefitted a lot and it might even have kept the game alive for longer.
I haven't played Oblivion ever since it started acting up on my pc, game run's at brutal framerates all of a sudden. Happened in the middle of a playthrough I was really getting into as well.
Yes. I thought it was commonly accepted that Ultimate Leveling was the better and more widely supported mod that does this sort of thing. Weird that he is recommending Oblivion XP in 2023.
@@foottothenuts Ultimate leveling hasn't been updated since 2020. Oblivion xp has recently recieved an update in october of 2023. Stop spouting misinformation.
Thank you for sharing this mod, I've been using a mod that just gives you +5 in 3 attributes and it always felt lack lustre. Do you have like a dummies guide for modding Oblivion?
Construction Set load up Oblivion >>>>Character >>> Skills change away the skill values and what attribute they are governed by at your hearts content. GameSettings >>> sAttribute Description you will want to edit this if you change a governing attribute iSkillslevelup = 15
Of course I learned how to level with the existing system in Oblivion with past play throughs. But this mod is going to make me play it again an I thank you for this 😊 Also? OBITUARY! 😸
I'm planning on making a mod with the vary basic and limited modding knowledge that I have that equalizes the skill progression a bit more, makes some previously 'grindy' skills like athletics, restoration, mercantile etc level up much quicker. Changes light armor to be governed by endurance. changes block to be governed by agility. Allows ebony and glass to hit ghosts, changes it so fifteen skill increases are required for leveling up and increases the damage of all the weapons a little bit and increases power attack damage making combat less long and drawn out. Really to try and make leveling up and progression feel more balanced to a natural playstyle while still being vanilla friendly. I am not vary good with the construction set but I am testing it out now and so far so good. I shall plan on uploading my mod to the Nexus and Modd db when I'm done.
I might change security to intelligence like it was in Morrowind and Daggerfall and Mysticism back to Willpower. However I wanted both light and heavy armor to be endurance to allow all classes to have the change to get endurance bonuses for playing their class. I changed block to agility because a warrior shouldn't have to level up sneak and security just so they can not get knocked around in combat.
I actually wish they go for something like this en es6 (i doubt it) but xp levelling just feels better for me, sometimes xp is reason enough to do a quest.
I circumvented the leveling problem by not taking any major skills that I'm about to use. I leveled up destruction by spammin cheap spells and ended up being a level 1 absolute madman that could 1-hit everything. After unlocking the mage's guild, I loved making spells that drain enemy hp for 1 second by 100 and then zaps them with lightning, while turning my character invisible for a few seconds to disable aggro at every cast. Totally broken, but so fun for a while.
thank you for this video. i only wonder if there's something to clear off all the bandits in a daedric armor :D in morrowind daedric armor is something unic, mysterious, but in oblivion on a high level mostly every homeless buddy wears such armor wich ruins the ambience
Get oscuros oblivion overhaul instead. Makes mobs have static levels, making some areas actually hard but also gives you a power fantasy type joy when you can mow down lover level enemies.
Id call this leveling system proactive, it forces you to go and explore world, fight with enemies. Oblivion and Morrowind system is passive leveling system, it dont care if you go and kill enemies, it just need you to use your skill to level up. You can just sit in town and gain levels without leaving even once. How do you level up combat skills ? Summon enemies with magic school.
It's better but I still prefer the way levelling up worked in Skyrim where it was possible to level up any skill like simply using a bow would improve your archery skill AND give you xp at the same
Fantastic mod and content! do you have a recommendation for a mod that changes the loot system for mobs? i find it tiring and immersion breaking that the bandits are able to run around in Daedric and Glass once i get high enough level. ive tried OOO and MOO and both add things id prefer not to have
I agree that there's in issue with the world scaling in Oblivion. But there's no mod I know of that fixes those. None of the mods mentioned here are effective. You are simply much better just using the level system in the game. It is not really as much the problem as the actual problem with scaling in the world. If you really are having that much of a hard time, there's a difficulty slider that you can lower. Basically, there's no need to install any mods. And they aren't even any sort of improvement to what's already there.

Hey I downloaded this mod and I have a yellow border square on the bottom right of my screen any idea what that is ?

Max level in Oblivion: struggling with everyone except rats and mudcrabs

Speed will only govern athletics and acrobatics however I have increased the speed in which both of them level up.
The reason I change the skill requirements for level up to fifteen instead of ten is because it allows the chance for better multipliers on level up.
