    You described the complete process of Sivasana preparation. The principle of contraction and relaxation literally IS yoga; union of opposites!💛💙💜

      Practice this daily. It will give you a ‘feel’ for how to do all the other movements. You want to make the movements feel as easy as possible.

      They aught to, but, they have not been that for me,I think because of my pain and challanges , I have been too much tension strain to do certain movements, like the back lift, maybe the obliques.

    • @LearnSomatics
      @LearnSomatics  2 роки тому

      @@cinmac3 Be mindful of using too much effort when doing the movements. Try to make them feel easy, if that means making a movement smaller, that's fine too.

      Hello, yes these movements can help you release muscle tension quickly in you neck or anywhere else. Fo the back of the neck, if you tend to have a more rounded shoulder posture do the following movement, it will help your neck:
      Startle Reflex #1: ua-cam.com/video/j2zmz8v41MY/v-deo.html
      Relaxing your shoulders will also help: ua-cam.com/video/WlP8b2emum4/v-deo.html
      If you tend to have a more arched back posture do these ones:
      ua-cam.com/video/F0JQGTv-BhU/v-deo.html
      Also follow the Daily Routine video, it covers all the fundamental movements and will teach you how to release tension all over your body. Here it is: ua-cam.com/video/F0JQGTv-BhU/v-deo.html

      Vary how much tension you use when you do this, try; a lot, a little, somewhere in between. Use the amount that gives you the best result.

    Similar to progressive relaxation.

    • @LearnSomatics
      @LearnSomatics  4 місяці тому

      Yep similar indeed. It's all about being able to relax when needed so we're not stuck in fight/flight/freeze, and our movement can be comfortable. Thanks for watching.
