These are all great ideas! I just recently picked up the 2024 Hagrid's Hut & the Forbidden Forest set that comes with a hippogriff, they are PERFECT for D&D! At some point I plan to make a video about using Harry Potter sets for fantasy settings! Happy New Year, Thanks for your comment!
I love the DnD CMF line and the Village set (those are the best value for money). The DnD large set is a tad expensive for what it is, however it's a cool choice nonetheless. I do have some suggestions: the city explorer and explorer jungle sets: they have crocodiles, tigers, apes, orcas, seals , polar bears and so on - this line comes with a fun line of animals for adventures. Another suggestion is the Ninjago smaller sets that have a lot of evil soldiers (that $10 battlepack comes to mind - Lloyd in a master's robe for a monk, a ninja and 2x wolf warriors to make some evil robbers ).
Exactly, sets with play features become more interesting because they make the game more interactive. Also using figures from across multiple themes to represent fantasy races LEGO hasn't made yet. Just a fun way to experience the LEGO hobby! Thanks for your comment! I actually watched your "Who Killed Lego Castle?" video like a week ago and I thought it was really insightful!
IDK if it came out this year, but I added Indiana Jones Escape from the Lost Tomb to my Lego DnD hoard. I like the option of adding desert type settings to my games so the sand bricks, mummy and snakes come in handy. Although I'm definitely lamenting the lack of new/smaller LOTR sets these days.
I've never really considered using Indiana Jones sets for D&D, but it makes a lot of sense in retrospect, lots of temples with treasure filled with traps. For desert environments I do have a few Prince of Persia sets that I think work well, also Pharaoh's Quest has a lot of mummys and other cool desert themed monsters / locations. Yes I wasn't really collecting LEGO when the LOTR and Hobbit sets came out, which is a shame as now even the small sets are a lot of money to get, and the new stuff being released while REALLY HECKIN' COOL is sadly pretty unaffordable for most casual fans. there are rumors of a new Gandalf vs the Balrog set coming out this year that'll be cheaper however! Thanks for your comment Happy New Year!
Me too, I wasn't really collecting lego at the time the original sets came out, so now everything is super expensive, kinda feels like I missed out! Thanks for your comment!
I think I agree with you, CMF series aren't something I would generally consider to be a set either. I just feel for the preposes of playing a D&D campaign they are near perfect so I had to include them in the list. That said I've seen a lot of really good suggestions in the comments as to other sets that came out last year that could easily replace them on the list; Hagrid's Hut, any of the Forbidden Forest sets for the fantasy creatures, and Indiana Jones for the temples filled with traps. Thanks for your comment!
Hagrid's hut 2024. In an wood setting. Some villains from monkey kid aka the bone lady. The fantasy animals from harry potter.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll have to look out for those city sets to get more animals!
been waiting for this one
😁
can't believe how fast you keep getting these videos out
Yeah haha I've been buys these past couple weeks. More coming soon!
Didn't even consider Dreamzzz as a theme to use for D&D, good idea!
Like I said, I think they're pretty slept on for Fantasy use, not all of the theme works as well but the ones that do are great!
Happy New Year!!! Good video as always!
Thank you! happy new year!
I really like the idea of using Lego to make a D&D campaign. It's a really interesting lens to look at sets with!

All great choices. My only note is, I don't know if I would consider the DnD CMFs a set, but that's just my opinion.
