So to recap, your nerves are sensitised. The brain is throwing all kinds of pro survival thoughts at you to keep you alive and safe. You can’t stop the thoughts, that’s the mechanics of the mind. But then there’s thinking. Thinking is engaging, and you are actively doing that, you can control that, it’s rumination, an active process. When you engage with the thoughts by thinking about it, so the brain says this must be important, and send you more thoughts around that. The brain just wants you focused on negative stuff so you know what to avoid. When you engage with the thought you reinforce it, and it becomes a habit very quickly. Remember you are not your thoughts, and that there’s nothing to engage.

I am so far in this fight or flight response that I wake up in the middle of the night with intrusive thoughts, and when I try to calm my thoughts down with meditation, breathing etc, my body starts responding instead with heart racing as if I am in a life threatening situation. It's crazy, I didn't know this is called anxiety, I thought I was loosing my mind. It's definitely caused by years of trauma in my case, as I know exactly when it started. I was fine before. Good to know that it can be healed as it is really stressful.

i can confidently say im almost completely out of the woods compared to where i was 6 months ago, being scared shitless during my working hours and watching hours of your videos one after another to find assurance.

Trust me i was suffering from 9-months .You just have to do one thing when anxiety hits you just feel it and realises it and one thing you DONT have to do is don’t reach on it this is how i fight with my anxiety.I am living a normal life now i don’t have panic attacks, i am just suffering from lost thoughts and triggers. I am fighting everyday to get back to my normal life. And one day i will be completely out from this hard time.

Its the thoughts that seem to send u into a panic sprial..... If u get a belly issue, or you wake up groggy and a bit "dizzy" most people woukd just carry on. But when youre sensitive your brain starts "oh no ..here we go ...youll neber get better, yourr going to struggle for ever, bla bla bla"
These damn intrusive thoughts start the cycle every time.
My dad, RIP, used to joke and say:
"If we had no brains, think of how happy we would all be"😂
He was right. Anxiety is so much about the mind and how you creste your own hell. Stress, worry, planning, not planning, habbits, fear, grief. All mind.

I told my therapist and all she wanted to suggest was that something was wrong and there is medicine for me to take for intrusive thoughts cause it's not normal. My anxiety almost came back but I didn't let it . I saw this specific video and it just makes me feel better again. Most therapists have no idea what anxiety is and what symptoms it can create. The only therapists that can help are the ones who have actually been through it. There is a rare exception of therapists who havent been through it that can help you but they are very hard to find. Id stick with Shaan and Dr Claire Weekes.

I really struggle to apply this to my situation. I have ocd and anxiety and strong intrusive thoughts. I have intrusive thoughts about losing control and/or killing myself or suicide due to a trauma and it's stuck with me for 2+ years. I can't be alone out of fear and the thoughts are especially strong when on tube/train. Sometimes the physical anxiety is so strong with my mind racing telling me I could jump infront or the track that I feel my body jolt forwards and don't feel I could actually stop it happening. It's hard to really truly be convinced that it's just a thought. I've never been suicidal and don't want to have these thoughts, just stuck in the cycle of fear!

One thing that completely turned my life around was starting to practise Chi Gung. There are hundreds of free UA-cam videos about this. The exercises are very simple but the most important thing is that they reorganise the chi and the prana that flows through all of us and thoughts believe it or not are a form of prana. This wonderful practice revitalise and heels and nourishes the nervous system as well as the kidneys and adrenals all of which contribute to anxiety. Standing barefoot on the Earth and practicing Chi Gung was a game changer for me and my mind has become incredibly calm peaceful and happy and after many years of suffering I finally feel that my mind is on board with me and not my enemy❤❤❤❤❤❤

Hey, I am experiencing something very similar, although I dont have OCD, yet I do have those kind of thoughts. For that I have applied what they call in CBT "putting thought on a trial" meaning : "evaluate the evidence for and the evidence against the thought. We pretend that we are bringing the thought to a judge, and we need to show the judge evidence based on facts and not on feelings. " It sounds simple but its a process that is somehow reassuring in such a distressing thought pattern. I should also mention I am on 20mg of fluoxetine due to my therapist recommendation; but the most important part is working on yourself and your mind. You will get through this. I hope that helps and if you need someone to talk to and share let me know!

I was distressing for 1 month due to this thought loop and I was having some illogical and some anxious thought on a loop. It made me anxious. And I've watched a lot videos.Everyone says it is just an thought . But no one said that it will come again and don’t be anxious except you.
Here is the key point to overcome these thought is knowing that It'll come again and you might feel bit stressed. But that's okey.
    I hope it helps someone❤

For everybody watching this video I would like to suggest that you start practising Chi Gung especially barefoot on the Earth. It nourishes heals and revitalizes the nervous system as well as the kidneys and adrenals and all of the other organs in the body. When practising this beautiful passive martial art and it's wonderful easy and deeply relaxing exercises it completely clears and cleans and replenishes the mind. The chaotic energies in the head become far less dense and begin to move downwards into the Earth and become grounded by the feet barefoot on the Earth. Even if you do it with shoes and socks in your own living room it still works because of the way that this incredible healing practise moves energy throughout the body to balance the mind and emotions. Also look into taking a very high quality source of magnesium and a broad spectrum of B vitamins. Avoid coffee sugar and alcohol or at least cut them down to a manageable and safe level. Try to go to bed by 10 and get up with the sunshine and do some Chi Gung. A Chi Gung master would never suffer from anxiety or racing thoughts because his prana is stable and balanced and flowing in a healthy way throughout the body which keeps the mind clear and clean. And lastly try if possible to get yourself into some kind of spiritual community where you can form deep and compassionate friendships because isolating and being alone makes everything feel so much worse. Chi Gung has been a game changer for me after years of suffering anxiety as a younger adult. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

A breathing technique called Kapalbhati and humming works for me to disengage the brain from the nervous system. Kapalbhati is a fast pace respiratory exercise or pranayam. Remember, If you ever feel down always remember to hold a simile!

It's so disturbing and horrifying to suffer from OCD, but something worse is suffering from Religious OCD. I used to have mild derealization symptoms but now the episodes hit me about half the time of every day. I developed anxiety about going to sleep because of how scared I get when thinking about what sort of dreams and nightmares I will have to face down.

Embracing pessimistic thoughts until they fade off the mind sounds discomforting but I hope it's worthwhile.

What I'm discovering is that the mind cannot be cured and it can't be remedied. It's like the mind has a mind all of its own. I'm discovering thru Meditation that who I really am is not my mind and I am not my thoughts and I am not the stories that is created by my mind. My perceptions about myself and the world were incorrect. By Observing the mind, you actually become more Free!! All negative thoughts and imaginations are created by the mind and what I'm finding out is that thoughts are not even real. They don't exist and it's the same thing as when one dreams at night. Further more the root cause of all human suffering is the mind! If we had no mind we wouldn't know what suffering is.
