- The Ram 1500 TRX, with its ferocious 702-horsepower Hellcat V-8 engine, has been a benchmark in off-road performance, but as we enter a new era of automotive design and efficiency, the torch is being passed to the newly unveiled 2025 Ram 1500 RHO. This new model retains the TRX's rugged ethos while introducing advanced engineering and technology to meet the modern demands of efficiency and performance.
Ram 1500 TRX: The Legacy
The Ram 1500 TRX set a high standard for power and performance with its 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V-8 engine, capable of delivering an explosive 702 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. This power enabled the TRX to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds during tests, making it not only powerful but also unexpectedly quick for its size. The TRX's off-road capabilities were supported by a reinforced frame, sophisticated Bilstein adaptive dampers, and a suite of aggressive off-road features including a wide-body design and large all-terrain tires.
Transitioning to the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO
As the TRX bows out, the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO steps in, shifting from an iron-block V-8 to a more sophisticated twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine. This new Hurricane engine maintains impressive performance metrics, with 540 horsepower and 521 pound-feet of torque. While it falls short of the TRX’s raw power, the RHO compensates with a lighter overall weight and improved fuel efficiency, expected to deliver 15 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway-a significant improvement over the TRX's 10/14 mpg.
Off-Road and Technological Features
The RHO mirrors the TRX in its off-road readiness but advances in technology and design. Both trucks share a fortified frame and a long-travel suspension system equipped with adaptive Bilstein dampers and large all-terrain tires. The RHO, however, introduces a new grille with a flow-through design that enhances engine cooling.
Interior upgrades in the RHO are substantial, featuring a new 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 14.5-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 5, replacing the standard 12.0-inch unit in the TRX. Optional tech enhancements include a 360-degree camera system, dual wireless charging pads, and advanced driver assists like evasive steering assist and a hands-free highway driving mode.
Pricing and Market Position
Priced at $71,990, the RHO is significantly more affordable than the outgoing TRX, which had a base price of $98,335. This pricing strategically positions the RHO against competitors like the Ford F-150 Raptor, Chevy Silverado ZR2, and Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, offering a compelling blend of power, luxury, and technology at a competitive price point.
Conclusion
The 2025 Ram 1500 RHO is poised to continue Ram's legacy of building high-performance, highly capable off-road trucks. By integrating modern technology with robust mechanical components, the RHO not only honors the spirit of the TRX but also advances it, promising to be a compelling choice for enthusiasts of powerful and capable off-road vehicles. As it hits the market later this year, the RHO will undoubtedly carve its niche in the evolving landscape of performance trucks.

I am excited about this truck! A more affordable version of of the TRX that is more economical to be a daily driver.
In the TRX world, the running joke is gas station to gas station, everything else is just a stop on the way. I’m pumped about this new version.
The TRX is about horsepower. This RHO is definitely not any version of that.
@@scottieflamingo718absolutely!!!!
I'm not a Dodge fanboy or anything but the way the RHO looked at speeds off road, they got it right. The TRX just looks way too heavy which caused it to bottom out trying to do Raptor things. The RHO looks nimble, like the Raptor.
Shifting from an Iron block V8 to more of a sophisticated twin turbo charged 3.0 litter engine. Translation: Went from a man in tank top to a castrated man in a double breasted suit.
I think handling will be better due to the lighter motor
Так и есть. Он глубже за ось заходит
I think it’s only like 100 pounds lighter. I wish the truck was 500 pounds lighter to complete with Raptor.
Also where’s the dual live valve tech!!
The haters gonna hate on the TRX it’s ok where use to it! 💨💨💨💨💨
I dont care what anyone says the srt10 is still my all time fav along with a 01-04 lightning
Albor ng isa😊
If the RHO was available to compare with the TRX before buying my TRX, I would not have purchased the TRX. I have no regrets owning my TRX but lower cost and interior upgrades available on the RHO (mimics the Jeep Cherokee) would be my reason to choose the RHO over the TRX. I bet the RHO sales will be awesome- great move RAM!
Don’t walk backwards
On Ram’s site it says 15mpg COMBINED
Neutered TRX is the RemoveHellcatOption truck
Rhino=RHO
Is the RHO using the new engine with No Oil Dipstick? I would never own a vehicle that I can’t check the oil and I don’t care who made it.
RHO= Rebel High Output
Excelente ese vídeo tremendas Camionetas RAM. es. RAM
Dream truck. Wow. And it's not even the most powerful engine they will make yet
The haters are the best evidence you could ever ask for.
This new RHO is getting more attention than the tin can raptor R that costs nearly twice as much.
Ram built North America. Play hard, and dominate the job sites for a reason. Always the working man's truck. Not just an impulse/show off that gets traded in every other year.
Keep your Lego looking trade ins.
42 years and RAM has been the best machines of anything we've ever used.

ABSOLUTELY! they can buy the RHO then buy a Hot wheels TRX & keep it on your dashboard wishing you should have bought it!!!
This is some bullshit
😂😂😂😂😂
STOP TALKING!
Boooo Dodge 🤮
Give us fuel, give us fire, give us that which we desire 🤘🔥
Don’t castrate the TRX, make it crazier. EPA can get over it.
My TRX will make the RHO look like grandmas truck 😂😂😂😂😂 RHO is using up old parts from TRX 😂
The TRX is not a 3.7s 0-60mph truck
I was about to say wasn't the fastest and I mean absolute fastest a 3.8s?
Your right it’s a 3.9 0-60 I know I own one!
