I think to clarify for those unclear...you only pay to have the Toyota app after 1 year. The start feature you used on the keyfob is always available & a function you don't need to pay for.
@@TheUnrestricted WOW that's interesting...I'm in Canada and only the app is the thing they charge for. I've used the keyfob since my trial ended and I have no issues. I'm not sure how they can end that as the keyfob is always yours. I had trouble with the app working so I never renewed

I have a 23 Taco TRD Off Road and I just start it from my key fob. The dealer was trying to sell me something about starting it from your phone and lied saying I couldn't start it from the key fob and as soon as I purchased it and smiled and said watch and I started it from the key fob which you don't have to pay for it's programmed into it
@@spiderbitedml385 I only use my phone when I’m late to work in the morning to warm it up lol or when I forget to lock it or roll up my windows it reminds me and I can lock it from the app

Great video - thanks for sharing. I didn’t know some of these tricks and I have had my 2019 for 3 years. I’m trying to find a video to keep my brightness screen on bright (on speedometer screen). Seems it automatically goes back to middle setting every time I start the truck. Never use to do that until I bought a new battery.

It mentions in the manual to run it in 4 wheel drive once a month so that the transfer case gets lubricated I also stop and pur it in 2 low and go back and forth it makes it easier to change when tou need to
hope your turning of the wheel and engaging 4H works on my 2011,,,,,,,as i have read a lot, and the problems encountered of not engaging or not disconnecting.........thanks.

I just got my new 23 off-road two weeks ago. I sold my 2012 Wrangler old school (roll up windows, 6-speed manual and door locks with brass keys), what a shock! This the first time ever that I needed to read the operator's manual for a car; I could always just hop in and drive it away. Not so fast, cowboy.
Anyway, thanks for the tips.
Don’t forget about if you leave your doors unlock you can set them to automatically lock after so many seconds pretty cool

Buddy the remote start with the remote is free no anual fee toyota Connect yes on that yes you has to pay annual or monthly fee i have a 2021 TRD OFF-ROAD and yes the remote connect is free the first year

Doesn’t turning the wheel while stationary stress the rack? Just accelerate forward or reverse and it will kick in. If stuck, a quick slow tire spin.

The bed light isn’t designed to be a safety feature. It’s to light up the bed when you’re working back there or loading the truck at night. It shuts off when you lock the doors
Yes for course! But you can use it as one.
And if you put it in the “On” position it will not turn off

Anyone know How do you turn traction control completely off? I have 2021 Tacoma TRD 2wd. I've tried hold the button for 10plus seconds while in park and its better but not off......If you are spinning the wheels in field or snow the engine will fall flat on its face.....any suggestions? Thanks

I bought an aftermarket remote start kit that works with your factory key fob and installed it myself. Unfortunately, it also shuts off when you unlock your car which defeats the purpose of remote start imo. I have a 2016 TRD Sport.

I have 2022 army green off road and I call BS on 80 a year for push to start. I do not pay anything and my push to start works just fine.
What about going to a third party to get the remote start/ alarm system put in ……. Is that allowed ? Would that screw up anything

The unlock is not necessary on the remote start the process works with: lock... lock and hold for the second time and it will start the truck

I have a 2021 Tacoma and noticed a little something about the dual zone climate control. I click the auto button then directly turn the fan speed knob either right or left. Then I turn the left temperature knob over to the right. The auto button turns off itself but it still operates in auto mode as I control the temperature. I thought for sure it would be off. It’s kinda confusing. I tried something else. This time I turn the auto button then hit the Mode button in the middle. Now when I turn the temperature knob left or right, the auto is definitely turned off. I guess that can be another hidden feature in the Tacoma. Strangely, it feels like it is broken but that’s got to be how it is. Lol
The subscription is only for app not the key fob. Key fob still working after the 1 year free.

1:40 i HATE the remote start system. 10 mintues and it shuts off, open the door, shuts off. No smart climate control for remote start either if you leave your hester/ac off. Guess what?! It's off. Toyta really screwed up on this one. Before we sold it my wife's 2018 jeep renegade (piece of crap) had 20 mintues, auto sense to adjust heat or ac. Turn on heated seat and steering wheel etc oh and YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. Love my 23 taco trd off road 4x4 long bed but cmon toyta atleast give us the option to increase the time to 20 mintues. The remote has really bad range too

the remote start does not cost anything. You will have your key fob start for good. It is $80 a year if you want to be able to start your truck with your phone.

Weird about the remote start. Mine stopped working, called Toyota. Signed in my truck (no $80) they told me you did not have to pay for keyfob remote start. I went out tried to start my truck on third hold. Didn't work. Then I tried hold on forth, and it worked. Now it's back to hold on three. Anyway Toyota told me the $80 is for the app. Crazy stuff! First timer.... good stuff! Well done.

I'm having this weird issue with my Tacoma. So whenever I remote start my truck (Toyota App) it automatically turns on the heater at max speed (Even when the heater was off, last time my tacoma was on.)
Does anyone know why I'm having this issue and how I can fix it?
Weird man. I leave my AC on all the time so when ever I start the truck (Toyota app) it will be on the last setting I had it on & speed... all I can think of is do you leave it on auto? Maybe that's why?

The truck shutting down when you open the door sucks. I guess Toyota wants to replace starters as there are only so many starts in a starter. As for remote starting. Only the phone app will be subscription
