Hey guys just some quick things I forgot to mention! 1. These are very similar to the Elf Bite Size palettes. They remind me a lot of those in terms of how they apply and blend out. They also have a similar wear time which brings me to my second point. 2. These don't last a super long time on my eyes unless I use a good primer so I really think primer is key with these palettes!
The one called Soft Rose Look looks alot like the wet and wild 5 pan color icon series palette called Petalette....jus fyi and i paid 2.00 for the wet and wild and i used it yesterday to create some diff looks and i liked the formula and the colors but i think its a good dupe girl...thanks for the vid Jen Luv them!!!!!💯💙💙💙💙
I really enjoyed the demo of blending on your arm, this was so much more helpful than eye application demo (to see the difference between the formulas). Would love to see more demos like this :)
The modern Smokey is honestly all I would need in a little travel or overnight palette. I often do simple matte looks in cool taupes and define my lash line with a charcoal shadow, and this would give me a neutral or a blue option if I wanted to sparkle it up a bit. I haven’t tried catrice yet but honestly this might be the first thing I get. I would use every shade and it looks like I could everything with like, one blending brush and one liner brush and my fingers. Thank you for the arm brush blending swatches! You really show us everything!

I find it interesting the trend of smaller, 4 to 6 pan palettes that's resurged in the past two years. It's cool to see that it's happening in Europe as well. I think it's a nice shift from the boom in large eyeshadow/pigment palettes. Fenty has the snap shadows (6 pan), ELF has their Bite Sized palettes (4), even Natasha Denona has a 5 pan palette as you showed here. What does everyone else think?
When Essence and Catrice were only known in Europe they already had small palettes. This is not a new phenomenon among European/ German drugstore brands. The only difference is that the formulation developed over the years slthough I am not convinced by drugstore brands any more. I am more into high end brands these days.
i legit just found out about these yesterday and they look really pretty. those shimmers are beautiful, especially that blue shimmer. i would love to grab these.
Thank you for saying that they are not straight up dupes. I can’t stand when influencers kept saying the Elf sized Bited palettes were straight up dupes. I even heard some Influencers saying Wet n Wild was essentially the same as Pat McGrath. If you want a pretty look at a drugstore price, you gave us a way to use these palettes. Thank you for this lovely review.
@@marghiel.3847 I couldn’t get any pay off on the mattes. They were just so dusty and didn’t build up to anything. The darker shades were a bit patchy, too. The packaging was obviously cheap and I don’t mean inexpensive. It kept pinching my fingers and I kept dropping it on my wood floors and they finally shattered to pieces. They found a home in my garbage bin, unfortunately.
Yesss, I so agree. I am also tired of people calling something that is loosely inspired a dupe. Tell me or show me how they differ exactly in quality, shade selection, finishes. Even if it's affordable it's still money that I spend and I have no time, money and space for meh products. Just like someone in here said I want great products not 'good for the price'.
Soft Rose sounds good for someone like me with mature fair, pink tone skin. Still wish I could find more true natural nudish cool eye pallets that aren't grey or mauve.
I live in Europe and i own 3/4 of those Catrice pallettes, they have been my favourites for months now. For a person who sometimes enjoys darker looks you can really build up the intensity of the shadow and get dramatic look. With the shimmer shadows using a primer is must and i have liked the wet n wild eyeprimer with these particular shadows. In my opinion they are definitely worth the money and really high quality (but the packaging broke down after couple of uses but that happens always with Catrice and Essence)
The idea of these actually reminded me of the new Wet n Wild 5 pan pallets. I really appreciate brands are doing little pallets like these where it's so easy to get a cohesive look
Thanks. Might still be well worth the $6. I have Mini Nude. It's way warmer than I usually go. I want Mini Retro. But I might try the neutral and the rosey brown one from Catrice.
These are gorgeous, and the price is right for me. I'm not the best blender either, and super pigmented shadows make me aggravated. I think the 2 cool toned are fabulous, and the lighter warm toned will be perfect for me for fall. Thanks Jen 💜😊
The soft rose one looks like what I had hoped the e.l.f. Bite Size in Rosewater could have been. I love ALL of these. I didn't know these were out or even in the UK. They look SO pretty.
I have the warm spice one and it's insanely good. I also love that it's perfect for everyday life, but versatile enough where you can pull of a slightly more dramatic look with the glitter ones + the deep brown shade.
Hi Thanks for another amazing review.. I am enjoying these pan palettes.. from Elf to ND..I did enjoy the Bae Palettes from Catrice.. Just wanted to share that I enjoyed the brush arm swatches comparisons ...thanks for the note in the comments about ELF...
Those palettes are perfect for beginners, when I saw the thumbnail I was thinking of the Wet N Wild 5 pan palettes, but they are different the one you're wearing gives me fall vibes 😍😍😍, love the look too 😍😍😍, the cool toned one with the silvery blue shimmer gives me winter vibes, they're all beautiful palettes 😍😍😍, great video Jen, always going above and beyond for us, it's so greatly appreciated 🥰🥰🥰
I’ve got 4 of the Natasha Denona 5-pan palettes. I think the color combinations are interesting and just what I wanted. I used to try out dupe palettes, and then I realized if I have already got something I’m enjoying then I won’t be buying more. These Catrice palettes look very nice though and clearly more accessible. I wonder how they compare to the Elf bite sized palettes. I got those first and although I liked the colors, on me they faded so much and so quickly, they weren’t worth using.
Your application comparison is OUTSTANDING! It really helps me to make decisions. Mattes are what make or break a brand for me. I also love to compare shadows without primer. You can truly tell quality. Even with primer, the ELF doesn’t last on me as well as say, ABH, without primer.
These look great, I like all the colors. I can see myself using these when I just want a quick, easy look and don't have the inspiration or time to go in to one of my big palettes.
Thanks for showing these, I was curious about them. But I told myself no more eyeshadow for a while, but maybe I will keep these on my radar for a bit. Also, thanks for the comment that they are similar to the Elf Bite Size shadows, I have a couple and like them fine but not planning on getting more of them. Anyway, I will think about these Catrice palettes. Nice video as always!
Woah that's really helpful to see the brush swatches on your arm! 🤩 I actually prefer that to showing them blend on the eyes because it's a larger flat area and you can really see the difference in the way the eyeshadows blend out. The ND look so much creamier and opaque compared to the Catrice.

Thanks for the info. I've never had anything from Catrice, so I may try the MODERN SMOKEY LOOK the next time I place an Ulta order. I like the compact packaging for travel.
Great comparisons! I really thought that the arm comparisons were awesome! So much easier to see how they would blend. . brilliant!!! I love your description 🤩 of this product vs higher end. Also I truly appreciate how honest you are about your skill level. I like that you are not like yes I am a makeup artist and can blend like a pro!! Thank you!!!! Enjoy the time with your family ☺️!
I’ve declutter most of my eyeshadow palettes. I wasn’t using them, so I passed them along. I usually put bronzer in my crease, and highlight or a shimmer shadow on my lid. However, I LOVE the 040 Modern Smokey. I’ll definitely pick it up. 🙂
They now have 050 blue smokey look and 060 vivid burgundy look on their eu site. I'm waiting for them to arrive to my country if they ever would 😅😅😅 Jen, i wonder if you are interested to try some goods from Undone Beauty ?
I ordered them all, I love small palettes. I have all the Natasha Denona minis but like to save those. Thanks for the swatches. Your hair looks so beautiful!!
The mauve one looks pretty, but it may be similar to the elf bite size that I have in that same tone. Catrice has intriguing products lately! I recommend their lip oils. It has really helped my chapped lips as they have a blend of so many different oils. I also ordered a color tinted balm by them that I’m waiting for.
I’m glad these mini palettes are good. I will for sure purchase one. I feel like many of their eyeshadow palettes have been a flop. So now I wait to purchase until I see a review.
At last there are paletts that are worth it in Catrice. I thought they were all horrible. It's a big surprise. Thanks Jen for your swatches and demonstrations of how shadows behave. I see all your videos, they are spectacular. You are very sweet and I am glad that your channel is having such a success. Kisses from Chile 😘😘
I don't think they are in Canada as yet. I'm hopeful since the Essence quads were here pretty quickly! Great review! Definitely want to check them out when/if they are available in Nova Scotia!
The neutral one is almost an exact dupe of the ND Camel Palette (bigger sized 5 pan one). Except for one shade, they are all identical. I had them both (in the end I decluttered the catrice one), love the Camel but the Catrice mattes really gave me trouble with patchiness and with fade-out. The metallics are indeed very good, though. Thanks for the video!
How are these vs colourpop 5 pans? Thanks for always doing comparisons Jen. I tend to want to order on one singular website so I can take full advantage of a sale or free shipping and have a one stop shop. These comparisons help me cluster my purchases in my head.
I love Catrice --their True Skin foundation is AMAZING! I bought the Modern Smokey Look 5 in a box and I don't like it one bit --the mattes are ok nothing great and the two shimmers ...well the first one (first pan in the palette) has very little color and is stiff, hard to pick up not buttery at all, the second shimmer, the blue, may be ok it seems more creamy but I have no idea what to do with it. It seems out of left field in this palette. Not sure if I'll try another 5 in a box or not.
Thank you! I’ve been waiting on these. I love my ND shadows, but I think Catrice has a leg up on her palette layout simply because they have a light matte shade. I may try the Rose one.
I'll be getting these for my mom this christmas. She's not big into makeup and she always buys some awful no name eyeshadow that barely shows up on her eye, even though it's sparkly, I think she'll be amazed with how much these sparkle lol.
Thanks so much!!! I like the more inexpensive pallets and products not only because of price, but also for travel. I’d rather break one of these pallets than a Natasha Denona pallet.
You look extra amazing in this video. That vacation did something special. You’re glowing. 😊 Even though those are neutral palettes, there is something so pretty about the colors. I’ve been getting more into neutrals lately. I might pick up one or two of those.
I've seen these here in the UK, but I've side eyed them as their shadows always lack pigmentation. So, seeing these here, I'm shooketh! I wonder how they stand up against the elf mini palettes? 💗
If Catrice hasn’t reformulated their palettes, I'd recommend skipping them. EU had them for more than a year and I bought three of them, got rid of them rather quickly. With that much choice out there, there’s no reason to buy this. Never tried the Elf ones, but it seems like I didn’t miss much. The mauve palette's shadows weren’t able to layer on top of each other and literally fell off my eyes during application (yes, I use primer), the shimmers were so chunky, I had to use glitter glue. Well, to the bin it is. The palette with the blue shade was pretty, but the mattes were quite lackluster again. Props to Catrice to introduce a blue shade I liked, but I'm not keeping a whole palette for that. I sometimes get an allergic reaction from eyeshadows and Catrice's are among the worst offenders. I'll stick to their brow pens and concealers though.
Humph. I ordered all 4 shades too and they only sent me 2 of them. I had to contact them to see if I could get the other 2 and they refunded my money for the 2 I didn’t get.😏 They ran out of stock! 🤷🏻♀️Maybe I’ll try again. I got the Modern Smoky Look and the Warm Spice. I didn’t get soft rose or golden nude. I like the Wet n Wild mini palettes and enjoy their formula as well. 👍🏻
The Catrice might solve my problem with Natasha D. I’m very pale and I need something that blends out easier and doesn’t come in too strong with pigment.
I havent seen anything "new" by Catrice at my local Shoppers Drug Mart( the only retailer in canada that sells Catrice) I love ND but not her pricing! Fingers crossed Canada! I did buy that 1 min primer pot thing, it came in one color, a beige, i initially loved it but found that it "floated" around on my face if I wanted to put other products ontop. Color also rubbed off on anything that I touched :( I do hear that Catrice's skin care isnt bad, the Niacinamide "oil" ingredients arnt terrible. I am iffy with makeup brands creating skincare...cough...Makeup Revolution
These days I always wear eyeshadow primer - regardless of brand eyeshadow. These look cute but I'm probably not going to get them because I already have so many eyeshadows.
0:29 Aren't Catrice and Essence like sister brands or something? Because Essence never replies to anything, be it DMs or customer care related queries. I'm a regular person so I thought this had only happened to me. But perhaps it's a thing with them.
I have these Catrice palettes and it is the first time i actually disagree a little. The shades are almost looking all the same, perhaps coz i have dark skin. That might also be what you meant with the pigmentation and the blending.. They are just fading away. I also think they don’t work that easy..The Elf bite size ones perform way better for me:)

These five-pans seem to be in lately. Colourpop came out with a few a bit ago (colorful ones though). I love the three cool-toned ones.
Thanks so much!!! I like the more inexpensive pallets and products not only because of price, but also for travel. I’d rather break one of these pallets than a Natasha Denona pallet.
Love it! Thanks for your energy and effort!
You look extra amazing in this video. That vacation did something special. You’re glowing. 😊 Even though those are neutral palettes, there is something so pretty about the colors. I’ve been getting more into neutrals lately. I might pick up one or two of those.
Thank you Jen for setting the captions. This hard of hearing old gal appreciates it 😁😁😁
Of course, I always have them enabled! Sometimes it takes UA-cam a few hours to add them to the video but I'm glad they did it quickly this time!
I wonder how the blue Smokey is compared to Wayne Goss’s second eyeshadow palette.
I've seen these here in the UK, but I've side eyed them as their shadows always lack pigmentation. So, seeing these here, I'm shooketh!
I wonder how they stand up against the elf mini palettes? 💗
They are similar to the Elf! I've never really liked Catrice eyeshadows either but these are really nice!
I’ve been dying for these to come to the U.S. 😍
These look great!
Yayy looking for these swatches
Beautiful palettes!
Ohh my, they sure are pretty I hope that we can get them here soon in Denmark... 🙃
Great video 🌹🥰👍
Big hugs from Stine from Denmark 🌹🥰💞
My first Catrice Palette was chalky and dusty. It's great that they have improved.
Yes they definitely can be! I just got some Catrice palettes recently that were super dusty and sheer. So I think they can be very hit or miss.
The Catrice might solve my problem with Natasha D. I’m very pale and I need something that blends out easier and doesn’t come in too strong with pigment.
Yes I need the same thing! The Alter Ego palettes (that dupe the larger ND palettes) are also a lot more blendable.
I was JUST wondering about these and you go ahead and bless us with this video 😂
I wonder how they compare shade wise to the elf Bite-Size ones 🤔
My favorites are blues pinks purples.
Jen mentioned how they compare to elf bite size palettes but I wonder how they compare to the Wet n Wild 5 pans that recently came out.
I'm not sure about those as I haven't tried them but maybe someone else here has? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
These days I always wear eyeshadow primer - regardless of brand eyeshadow. These look cute but I'm probably not going to get them because I already have so many eyeshadows.
i’m so excited for this video! ☺️
Yay!! 🥰🥰🥰
0:29 Aren't Catrice and Essence like sister brands or something? Because Essence never replies to anything, be it DMs or customer care related queries. I'm a regular person so I thought this had only happened to me. But perhaps it's a thing with them.
Any idea where these are made? TIA 😘
They have a blue smokey and vivid burgundy palette dropping in the EU this week, so keep an eye out! :)
