- RGB tube lights have been popular for a while, but the price hasn't exactly made them affordable. That is until SGC showed up. These come in so much cheaper than the competition, and have full Sidus link app control. The P60 and P120 open up a whole world of creativity. This Prism line of lights has full RGB control.

Really solid video. Good pacing & informative. As a fellow Apurture user I too want them to come out with tubes as I have want the tube look for personal projects & can't justify buying the other brands we use on set as I work in art/props & not G&E or camera. Thanks for the awareness

Thanks for sharing man, looking at getting a set of the 120s - heads up though I think Aputure came out and said that SGC is just using their Sidus link API so not really a collaboration but they do think they’re cool lights (and so do I haha)

Interesting, I hadn't seen that and SGC's site still just says 'designed and created' by teams from Quasar and Aputure. It's all oddly vague, but not in a way that effects us as users. Good company to keep!

And can they do chase effects to make light saber wars a thing? Or for like short live show light fx?

THEY ARE.
Yes, low heat (but still can get warm) because LED. Whole tube lights up with varying intensity and timing. They act differently if being used alone vs as part of an array.

i feel like aputure is gonna release there own first party tube light with that new pixel tech they have in the p600c multi zone, they don’t really advertise these as there own

Is it possible to to have multi color at the same time. Like half the tube red and other half blue?
Don’t believe so, you can set it to be on ‘trade show mode’ where it cycles through, but no not multi color on same light. But easy to achieve with a pair! Probably more effective at controlling light that way anyway, but I get it if you want that look practically.

the running time of P120 is 1hr?
Depends largely on what brightness you have the light on, I’d check SGCs site for accurate info on that

Hi George, good video but correct: Aputure in no way has any part, input, or power in SGC... and we have asked them to stop using our name and brand for their marketing materials but (unfortunately) they have not stopped... which creates some confusion for our community. Sorry for any misunderstanding!

Copy you for the future, it's definitely confusing to see 'created in partnership with SGC & Aputure' or however it's phrased on site/back of light. If a consumer sees a logo, they don't exactly go checking to see if it's a legit partnership.

whoa - it is really funny seeing your name saying this all over every social media platform-
were you in Beijing when Aputure's CEO and Quasar's CEO shook hands on stage announcing the partnership to hundreds of people at BIRTV?
anyways it mostly seemed some lower level staff were out of the loop and started trashing SGC early on, and honestly very much damaged the relationship without knowing much about it.
@@ProfessaJ no need to be snarky bud, I’m the Community Lead at Aputure, so this information is second-hand nature for me.
To your point in China, it’s very easy for things to get out of context due to language barriers. In their language, yes it was a collaboration, but not in the connotation we know it as.
What we did (as a company) was help them to integrate Sidus link into their products… that’s it. It wasn’t a product collaboration, which is what the entirety of Aputure has been saying for quite some time now.
Just remember, watching one short clip of a single video doesn’t grant you the whole message of what’s happening. I’m just helping you guys out by giving you the knowledge that you wouldn’t have, and that’s not your fault… you’re not a part of the companies, why would you know?
But, here’s a little extra info for you: keep an eye out on the releases coming up 😉😉
