Slažem se, vidio sam ih ove i prošle godine, Joseph odlično pjeva, a i Toto se instrumentalno jako razvio i imaju puno odlični improvizacija tijekom koncerta!!
I think each lead singer for Toto brought something special to the table. I'd like to see them ALL on stage with Toto and each of them doing Lead AND backing each other up. That would be smokin'!!!
The Live DVD you're talking about expresses one of the best performances of Toto Live. And in my humble opinion, Bobby Kimball's voice at that gig is incredibly awesome. All live bands overdub stuff when they're editing live performances to dvd/cd, but you're probably aware of the concept of overdubbing. Overdub = one thing. Miracle = another thing, doesn't really exists. Keep rockin' ;)
Well, I hate it when Bobby messes up any of Joes songs... He wrecked Pamela totally, didn't hit a single note on Only the Children and needed Tony Spinner to do Stop Loving You... To me - growing up in the 80s - Joseph Williams IS the voice of Toto
KICKASS!!!! Talk about feelgood-music! Joseph Williams has kept his voice in very good shape, I must say! Luke is ALWAYS great, and so is Simon Philips. All in all, very good stuff, judging from these clips!
Great upload, thanks! Though I hope they change the set a bit for the upcoming tour. They have so many songs to pick from. But of course with so many hits they HAVE to pay I know they must choose wisely.
When I enjoy music I stand still (or sit still) and listen and watch. If I jumped around like crazy I would not be able to concentrate on music. So even on big rock concert I am pretty much still yet I enjoy the concert like crazy! Would you call me pathetic?
wow.. the drama of those lights behind that curtain, (in the middle of the day) then the curtain dropping so dramatically.. whew.. it was just..just .. too too too much.I'm exhausted.
And why was Tony Spinner in band from 1999-2008. The same thing with female background singer. Tony asked to play guitar because he didn't want only to be backup singer. The whole FiB live dvd was autotuned ( Bobby, Luke, Greg- they were autotuned)
There is some definite autotuning or voicetracking at work on Falling in Between with Kimball's vocals just check out Africa and Roseanna. His voice must be shot after screaming for all those years. But it is a very slick DVD, looks and sounds stellar in BluRay which I have. Williams does very well here, I would like to think he is actually live. Paich seems in good form on Africa on this performance after being absent on FiB as well.
This is the lineup: Steve Lukather - Guitar, Vocals (1977-) Davis Paich - Keyboard, Vocals (1977-2006, 2010-) Simon Phillips - Drums (1993-) Steve Porcaro - Keyboards (1977-1987, 2010-) Joseph Williams - Vocals (1986-1988, 2010-) Nathan East - Bass, Vocals (guest filing in for Mike Porcaro, who's suffering of ALS) (2010-) Jenny Douglas-McRae - Background Vocals (1990-1995, 2011-) Mabvuto Carpenter - Background Vocals (2010-)
Actually I'd never heard any of those songs before I heard FIB live, I had thought they broke up in the mid 80's because I hadn't heard any new music from toto played on the radio, because according to them they weren't promoted in the US, but now I've gone back & listened to those songs since seeing FIB live, & I like them better live, they play them with more of a rock feel, which is how I think they like to play them But to answer your question, yes I suppose they would be like hearing covers
I agree, the original is always the best, their biggest hits were with Bobby, in my opinion their 2 best albums were Toto IV & Falling in between, I've never even heard a Toto song sung by Joseph Williams on the radio. The last hit here in the USA was I'll be over you.
Out of all the 4 frontmen Toto worked with: Bobby Kimball (1977 - 1984; 1998-2008) Fergie Frederiksen (1984-1986) Joseph Williams (1986-1989; 2010-present) Jean-Michael Byron (1989-1991) I choose only two: Bobby and Joseph---these 2 guys are slammin'; plus Joseph is the only replacement singer to appear in more than just one Toto album (Fahrenheit and 7th One). Too bad Bobby's voice is shot, but he will forever be a true rock legend who took Toto to the next level
I really love Toto, but it's so sad that Bobby Kimball is out again! David paich is back and Bobby's gone skiing?! ;-) Bobby Kimball is the only TOTO singer that fits! There are some good songs with Joseph and Fergie ,but none of them has this powerfull voice and soul that Bobby Kimball has! Steve can sing,no question, but for the heart and soul there is no one like B! When I grow up, I hope I will sing like him! ;-) Thanx for the upload and all the best from Germany / Cologne Lothar as ELPI
I enjoyed this video but I miss Kimball as lead and the cameraman needs a few lessons on zooming. The sound was ok but couldve been better. These songs will stand the test oif time because they are so good and the musicians are outstanding!
Yes it is Nathan East! He replaced the unfortunately very ill Mike Porcaro and is now part of the band. Too bad Greg Phillinganes is gone, but Steve Porcaro (the only Porcaro brother left in apparently good health) and piano virtuoso/singer David Paitch are the original Toto keyboarders
I know that whole dvd is autotuned, there was even comparison between true live and dvd perfomance but it was deleted. I know how bobby sounds and its clearly that Africa, Endless, Rosanna, Hold The Line, I'll Supply The Love... were autotuned. Maybe only the opening 2 songs weren't!!
Simon phillips ! Awesome drummer.
One of the best bands of all time! I keep coming back to these guys for a good shot of inspiration and to hear some incredible improvisation!!
These backing vocalists are insanely good and carry Joseph at several points.
Steve Porcaro is probably the most enthusiastic keyboard player ever....
Slažem se, vidio sam ih ove i prošle godine, Joseph odlično pjeva, a i Toto se instrumentalno jako razvio i imaju puno odlični improvizacija tijekom koncerta!!

Såg konserten i Gbg samma sommar. Kul att återspegla minnet med din film, alla tummar upp! Älskar Steve's inlevelse, 110%!
j'adore ce groupe ,exellent
Toto still sounds great to me.
Mike had been diagnosed with ALS (or Lou Gehrig's disease) since 2008 - this concert tour is dedicated to him

I feel the same!!😭
18:20 Rosanna --- Thanks for uploading. Altogether a good life performance. Video shooting appears difficult. :)
Africa not rosanna
This is a wonderful video. Thanks for posting.
KICKASS!!!!
Talk about feelgood-music!

Luke is ALWAYS great, and so is Simon Philips.

Is that Nathan East on bass?
Yes, they have been friends for years and have played together alot and have done alot of session work together.
Great upload, thanks! Though I hope they change the set a bit for the upcoming tour. They have so many songs to pick from. But of course with so many hits they HAVE to pay I know they must choose wisely.
wow..i thought they were already gone...wow its amazing......toto never dies...
crazy that greg was doing the job of these two keys players, by himself!
Super that publikum , jeuj ehte TOTO fans
aaiamai
When I enjoy music I stand still (or sit still) and listen and watch. If I jumped around like crazy I would not be able to concentrate on music. So even on big rock concert I am pretty much still yet I enjoy the concert like crazy! Would you call me pathetic?
Thanks a lot
I love this guys, Toto forever!!!!
wow.. the drama of those lights behind that curtain,

Amazing solo by Simon
Yep, I agree with you, you were in Ulm concert, right? It was great concert, Joe is so much better
your camera rules¡¡¡
Not every song was autotuned, I can only think of maybe 3 & it was usually the backing vocals only.
nathan east is THE man!
great concert! it would be good a concert DVD
What was the sound recorded with?

i see bobby this year at Musikmesse Frankfurt and sorry....i love him....but, his time ist over.. his voice is game over....

I wish there were more good copies of live videos with Jeff Porcaro out there. Anyone knows?
Grymt bra kvalite
