Never clicked on a video so fast. So nice of you to build that for your friend Eddie, he's in all his glory.. what a beautiful guitar! Brad Nowell is one of the most underrated guitarists and artists to ever grace this Earth. He had an IQ of 142 by the time he was only 12 years old, he attended a school called MGM Mentally Gifted Minors. Eddie has good taste in music.. if you can't tell, i'm a huge Sublime fan too. I'll be making a replica of Brad's guitar, thanks for posting.
Dude, you are an incredibly talented builder, that Brad guitar is phenomenal. The guy was such an underrated player, for me he is one of the best players from the 90s decade. When you ad a drummer like Bud, that was an amazing reggae player but had the versatility to quickly and cleanly transition to punk rock drumming. I’m a bass player Eric is one of my inspirations to start playing. Those three guys were magic together(the addiction would hurt the live shows at times but man they always played their guts out), a real shame Brad never got to enjoy his hard earned success. I hope your friend enjoys that amazing tribute!
This is legendary! I've been subbed to Eddie's channel for years due to all the amazing Sublime content he posts!! Unreal to see this connection and friendship -- big up for the Nowell Family Foundation donation plan too, you're a good dude.
I play a lefty strung right handed and always dreamed of having one of these.killer job man.the Lou dog accoutrement on the headstock is absolutely killer😊🤟
Man, such a beautiful thing you shared online. The gesture and craftsmanship here is something you don’t see very often. I appreciate you putting this out there! I may have to take a crack at building one myself now. 🤙🏼
Dan McDonald used to work on that guitar when we worked together at the Long Beach Arena. We worked the swing shift in the Electrical Shop. He would shape it and sand it during his break.
I have admired this guitar for years...I never ever knew until this video that the routing for the tremolo was sculpted out in that wave-like pattern that blends into the bubble artwork...really cool!
What a rad friend you are to give such an awesome gift, and what a rad friend killing it on the guitar like a boss DJ, a boss DJ ain’t nothing but a man, no trouble no fuss, I know why, itttts sooo nicceee…… I wish I had some friends
If you want to make another custom piece that's really different I've been looking for something for a while and there is almost NOTHING out there like this outside of super custom stuff. I've been looking for a fretless, short scale, hollow/semi-hollow body electric bass. You would think that there would be more like that, even as niche as those specs are, but there's almost nothing on the internet like that. I think it would make a really unique project.
Wow, what an amazing friend you are. I'm not a musician at all but I love this video. I will say that if you know someone with a cnc milling machine for wood or metal can create some amazing designs in just about any material. Even the pick guard. For future reference. Thank you Sir for the video.
Pro Tip: Use whatever suits YOU the best. Whatever microtonal difference there is between gauges can be accounted for with EQ and would be lost in a full-band-mix context anyways. Even the legendary SRV switched away from his infamous 13's after one of his favorite techs demonstrated it was less demanding of his fingers (on brutal show schedules) with minimal tone difference. Guitar players are a superstitious/ideological bunch trying desperately to avoid the obvious truth: the overwhelming majority of any players sound is coming from the players themselves. Gear choice has _far_ less impact on the music (within reason, a blues jr is never going to be a slo-100) than most of us are comfortable admitting. There's a mountain of evidence out there of iconic musicians sounding remarkably like themselves through completely random rigs. Keep on jamming.
The family still owns it, Brad's son just played it on stage. Check out Eddie Villa's channel (the guy I gave this guitar to). He has footage from Jakob Nowell playing it on stage with the rest if sublime: www.youtube.com/@EddieVilla

Where is Bradly’s original guitar? Who owns it now. A museum ?
The family still owns it, Brad's son just played it on stage. Check out Eddie Villa's channel (the guy I gave this guitar to). He has footage from Jakob Nowell playing it on stage with the rest if sublime: www.youtube.com/@EddieVilla
@@DoItYourselfDad sweet thx
👍👍
Newman all the way
How much would you charge me to do this same one ?
Will You craft Me one of the same? If You sold replicas, I would Buy them. Praise to You, talented Sir. Call this model, Eddie.
Sooo…. How much to make me one? 🙃
BADDDDDassssssssss!
Thanks!
can I be your friend too?
Why not set up electronics for overall tone and volume
Just how we chose to do it, it’s all in tact and an easy mod if that’s what he wanted. He has another guitar setup this way so that’s how we did it.
@@DoItYourselfDad it’s super cool, I was just curious
Quieres construir una para mi ? Hasmelo saber para ponerme en con tacto con tigo, estaré atento
Can I pay you to build me one just like that, I will. 🤙🤘🎸🤘
