I tested my soil and it’s 5.5. All my leaves are yellowing on the edges and are turning brown. Also burnt tips on the new growth. I think I need to stop giving it nutrients and just feed it water from now on. I’m trying to save this plant given to me.
Great thanx, wondering if tannic acid could be beneficial for the plant and eliminating aphids, technically it's sticky (used in tomato farming) and has a PH lvl >7..? Would I add water or spray it on raw...
On the Hydro chart it looks like ~5.3 would have the most availability, why wouldn't that be better? P.s. I've read numerous times about the 5.5-5.9 being ideal, just curious about why "optimumal" isn't around 5.3.
Very nice 👌 my meter broke (and probably was off anyways because it was cheap, i just used out of the box and just stuck the cap on after My plant showed all kinds of symptoms so i bought a ph test kit where you mix an indicator with water. I got 8.5😂 dropped it back down to 5 so it quickly absorbs some of the stuff it lacked the last few days. I'll retest in a few hours and get it to 5.5-6 so everything can continue normally
These charts are off. Below 6.0 and above 7.0 in soil, cannabis can lock out many nutrients and start losing leaves due to deficiencies. 6.5 is the money number.
AC Infinity is top notch if you're looking for inline fans with duct tubing. If not, it depends on the size of the room but I definitely like oscillating fans. The little portable ones are hit and miss and you need a couple of them usually. I like them to hit the plants a little to make them stronger like natural wind, but not directly all the time.
if you grow in soilless media yes 5,2-5,3 is better than 5,5-6,5 especially later in grow you will have less issues than with the higher ph, but also consider your water quality, best practice is to use RO water
How low of a ph would you use for a soil grow while still in veg ? I have heard plants like a lower ph early on and a bit higher in flower for reasons you described. I have been using 6.4 and 6.8, but technically my soil is a third coco coir, so perhaps a bit lower then ? 🍻🤟😎Thanks man ✌️
I would play with it a bit I’ve done as low as 5.9 in full coco for moms and they are fine, reason being is because I use the same feeding for the rest of the stuff in rock wool and I don’t like going over 5.9 in rockwool as you’ll definitely see changes if given a couple of feedings.. I think you could go as low as 6.1 and you’ll be just fine if growing in a third of coco.. just noticed this comment is like 3 years old😂

Say the ph keeps dropping in hydro is that because the plant wants what it can get at that ph or cos it had too much of something or if it wants stuff available at higher ph does it go down to make u add more ?

Yes. Some people only use distilled water in their hydro systems as their tap waters PH is way too high and to hard to bring down. Personally I just use tap water as it's much more convenient and comes out of the tap close enough to 7 for me :-)

How did that turned out
the difference in nutrient uptake between pH 6.3 and pH 6.5 is negligible. i doubt that you could see or tell the difference in any way.
Need to do 6.50 -6.80 to release different levels all the time for the root. I have found that for soil organic indoor

Could be a build up of salt that can also be a nutrient block. Ph the water to 6.5 and give it a good flush should sort it out.

Has anyone run at 5.2-5.3? According to this scale it's the same or better in almost every case. I'm guessing it's just to big a risk?
The lower the pH the more problems you will have with rot. I suggest 7-7.5
