Thank you Beth! I will be 70 in a few days and have never made a quilt. Now I feel confident enough to do one!
Yeah!
I love that you don't use all kinda of fancy gizmos for your quilting and you are frugal with fabrics too...thanks
Hope to learn more! First time making one (70 YO guy) I saw this and am currently making it. I have a medium loft batting and was wondering to single or double layer it? My wife thinks I'm nuts for wanting to learn to sew and make things. I have a Viking Sapphire 85 that I used mostly for embroidering things for my grand kids and neighbors. Thanks for all input and the great instructional video. SUBSCRIBED!
I would use just one layer of batting
Just finished it! Impressed my wife, she's a knitter! Now, off to the fabric store!
Congratulations on your your first quilt project I am currently making this quilt for my niece and nephew nephew who will love it It’s going to be so much fun . I love making quilts for my niece who is 10 it’s going to be her first quilt from me . I’ve made several quilts before for my sister who who loves her quilt . ❤❤
just made my first quilt with this! i made my squares a bit biggger and my diagonal lines werent exact but it turned out amazing. thank you
yeah! Congratulations on your first quilt.
Did you use a sewing machine for the binding? The diagonal lines?
Every block different hmmmm it works! I'm not surprised at your talent you just seem to be able to make sometimes the simplest of put together fabrics finish looking great! Thank You Beth for sharing with us , not only sharing but again the calm that comes with your crafting is also very encouraging! I know God created us all , but I can see differences and I guess that was His plan so we can learn and interact with each other! I'm glad we're not Islands! I think you are special to many of us! Enjoy your day, and May Our Creator always Bless You and Yours and His and ours!
We called it an Eye spy 25 years ago.
This is the best and clearest way to connect the binding edges I have ever seen. No rulers involved. Thanks so much!!!
This is the type of quilt I like, thank you for sharing!
Love your quilt
I love that little 21/5 leftover binding trick. I will definitely use that tip. Thank you so much. I live your videos.
I must have missed the 21/5 batting tip. What are you referring to?
@@annablock8037 BINDING , not batting
Oops sorry. That’s what I meant to say. Did I miss the tip? I thought I listened carefully.
@@annablock8037 Using the cut off portion of binding to measure the long end to cut off.
Yes! Can’t wait to try this method!
5" square quilts are some of my favorite to make! I love the look of simple quilts and love your methods!!
I love the I SPY quilts. Fun way to use scraps and you can use coordinating solids too.
I love watching your videos. They're so down-to-earth, calming, and relaxing.😊
Thank you so much! I have been wanting to get into quilting and I just needed a very SIMPLE, matter of fact, to the point how-to on the basic steps to build creatively from there. This was just that❤
Glad it was helpful!
You had such a fun selection of fabrics for an I Spy quilt! I love how it turned out. Some child will be very happy!
Beth I’m. In the process of making this quilt for my niece and nephew for Christmas I know they are are going to love this quilt . It’s my favorite video of yours I I watch it over and over again I love it ❤ I m also going to make the one that you had made for your grandsons for them for Christmas also I hope you don’t mind but I shared both videos so. I could have them for reference to go to I shared them on my Facebook page so I hope you don’t mind me sharing the videos I ❤❤❤
This reminds me of the first quilt my mother-in-law made. It was used for years until it was so worn she decided to make a replacement. Sadly she passed so I decided to pick up where she left off. I've made several quilts so far but am learning with each one.
Amazing! I love how you showed everything from beginning to end to end. Perfect for a beginner like me. Thank you! I will watch this again so I can make my first quilt. Thank you Beth!! 😊
You are so welcome!
I love these simple square quilts
I love your tutorials Beth. You have a very calming voice and I love listening to your videos while I am quilting. You also make great quilts with great suggestions. 😊
It looks so easy but it turns out so very nice. Happy the one, who will get this lovely quilt. Thank you Beth for sharing and its always nice, sewing with you and calm down for a while.
Thank you so much for your videos, teaching not only sewing a block or a quilt. There are so much other inspirations and ideas.
Thank you Beth. I’m just starting a memory quilt with 8” squares. Love the way you do the binding. Beautiful quilt. 🇨🇦
Super appreciate that you showed the process from start to finish. Other vids I've seen only show making the quilt top, which is only half the process!
Красивое одеяло!!!
This is wonderful I have my uniforms from work that I want to make a quilt with them good idea thanks
I press my binding out before I turn it to the front. Helps to keep it neat and easier to turn.
Chris Hunt, Wales, UK, Lovely quilt Beth. I like to stitch the binding down on the front too.
Thank you so much for ur video's. U inspire me.
I'm impressed. I think I could actually do this. You just took a lot of worry away from me. THANK You❣
Wow! Beth, you have such an easy way about you. You make it all look doable. Beautiful little quilt.
Such an interesting assortment of fabrics for an eyespy quilt . Very pretty.❤🇦🇺
Really wonderful choice of colors! Love this quilt. I’ve been so frustrated trying to make a slightly more complicated block which is not coming out right. I decided to put it away today and sew something relaxing. This looks like just the right thing. I just really need something I sew to come out right, and yours came out beautifully. Thanks!
What a cute quilt. Will be so easy to make and makes a lovely gift.🌼
I’ve sewn my squares together, now need to buy some batting. My quilt is a lot bigger
Realy need to learn this. Im looking at getting a couple of patchwork quilts made for my kids. Possibly for xmas but more likely just so they have something for the winter they can snuggle up with. Their mother recently passed away and left a chest full of her clothes that i can't bear to throw out. But i know a keepsake for each of my kids could be made from them that not only works on a practical level. But it would be a perfect memento for them to remember their mother by. Sewing is a useful skill that i should learn anyway, but short of sewing on the occasional button, i have very little practical skill. Im also not prepared to destroy the precious finite materials i have learning. Got to get this right first time.
Love the colours and fabrics you used Beth. Such a pretty quilt. Thanks xx
Great quilt to make for kids and grandbabbies. I have 5 grandbabbies. They all can enjoy this quilt. Thanks for the video.
Love it! I have so many scrapes that I am going to try & make one like this... Thank you!
I love this simple eye spy quilt. Those fabrics are so cute and colorful. Thanks for sharing
I also just found your video. I am a beginner and I needed it to demonstrate making a quilt from beginning to end. Also, you did this in under 10 minutes! I saved this for later use. Wow, and thanks!!
Thanks for all your tips and helps for my quilting in future
Definitely my next project! I like to just cut my backing larger and bring it forward to 'bind' my quilts, instead of cutting it off, and sewing on the same fabric binding. Now to find my 5inch square template to start cutting, it'll be for my nephews first Christmas!
Great video Beth , thank you for sharing it with us. Really enjoy all of your tutorials.
Thank you Beth your tutorials are always a pleasure to watch, and I love your fuss free binding instruction.
Believe I can do binding this time sew appreciated
I love it! I’m ready to make one, but I hand stitch. The bies is hard for me though.

So darling! Thanks for posting!
Loved it! So many tutorials say: it’s not complicated, and that’s exactly what they do hehe😂. But with yours, I get the picture 🎉❤
So cute!!
Thanks for sharing the making of this quilt. Very good instructions for beginners like me to try! You made it look so easy. Thanks again♥
I think this looks so easy and great for baby to lay on when playing on floor.
One of my faves to make
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! I have all the things, I do that, but so many doubts that I could make a quilt. The what ifs were killing me. I’m off to the sewing room now. It will be beautiful because my intentions are of that.. a beautiful quilt. You inspired me. ❤❤
Very good tutorial, thank you!
this was made 2 years ago and this is the first time i've seen it---MUST make this one too!!!! THANK YOU for sharing!!!
I have been collecting men’s dress shirts for this kind of project
Absolutely wonderful! In one of your videos you talked about gifted fabric. Just yesterday I was gifted a LARGE box of fabric - both yardage and scraps - I’ve spent today washing - drying - ironing - folding this blessing. I think that when we are blessings we get blessed!
What a great assortment of "kids" bright fabrics! Love it... take care and blessings to y'all.
I always have trouble joining the binding at the end. Thank you for showing how you do this.
Очень красиво!Спасибо!
Thank you very much. I needed this video. I have at least 7 lap blankets I need to quilt and this is going to save me a lot of time and work.
So lovely! I may actually be able to quilt a vintage quilt top that was given to my grandmother💖
I’m thinking about sewing my first quilt and this video gives me the confidence! Thanks so much!
I'm so glad!
You chose the right combination of fabrics, looks great. Lots of color, eye catching. Sandra B.

Thank You for this video. I needed a refresher to finish a quilt, so glad I found your channel!
Love this!
I want to start sewing and this seems so achievable! Thank you! I saw another creator who uses jelly rolls. I’ll probably try with your method of quilting, diagonally. The only part I’m worried about is the edges! 😅
Thank you! For this tutorial. So easy this way!!❤❤❤
Great!

Hi Beth, I love watching you quilt. Question for you, where do you get your labels from. Do you make them yourself or do you buy them pre-made?
This label is pre made for my local quilt guild. We make quilts and add their label 👌 I make my own for my personal quilts
Thank you so much Mam this is the easiest way…everyone can do it ..thanks again
You made it seems so easy. ❤ Wonderful video. Will try it out soon. Thank you!
