    There was an interesting AI anomaly in the Mantis fight that started around 1:47:00. The enemy reboarded with their injured Mantises without sending them to heal first.
    Those boarders were hit by a stun bomb at 1:50:03. You fought them for a second or two more before they teleported back to the enemy ship. But they were still stunned, and the enemy had a level 3 teleporter, so the teleporter came off cooldown (10 sec) before the stun expired (15 sec). So they got sent back, ready or not.
    You managed to kill both of them (one got teleported back, but was DOA), which was lucky, because if even one of them had survived, I think you end up running from this fight. And you got a nice reward (50 scrap, 2 missile parts), which enabled you to upgrade hacking immediately after your purchase, which was possibly significant for the recovery of the run.

    I have consecutively played with Rock A a few times (Hard, Advanced Edition Content on). The mileage varied significantly. In several runs the stores in sectors 1-2-3 didn't have neither the systems (Hacking, Crew Teleporter), nor the weapons. The crew kills, despite achieving the desired hull breaches in O2 and so, didn't reward with weapons either. More over, there were multiple Zoltan Shielded ships, running away ships, Defense Drones ships (among the running away rebel ships too), many auto-ships without empty rooms to capitalize the damage from the Hull Missile, sometimes unprecedentedly high evasion for enemy engines level 1-3 (even with auto-pilot only -- those sweat 2% evasion, just like the magnificent 99% evasion ASB snipe shots), nasty ships with hacking and drones (rebel disruptor, Auto-Hacker), and so on.
    Since missiles aren't infinite, it is always a good option to try get a surrender with 6-8 missiles (sometimes less are fine too depending on the situation with the missile count) if there is a bad sector layout, problematic enemy ships and awful RNG overall in the early sectors. I neglected the Hull Missile till it was just the only weapon available for few runs in sectors 1-3.
    In Sector 1 you sold Rock Plating and bought Pike Beam - that is a good weapon to start arming oneself early on. However, selling the Hull Missile while at 19 Missile to purchase a shield buffer at 23 Hull for this ship and situation... While it is still potentially possible to encounter a nasty rebel disruptor or nasty weapons Zoltan Shielded ship (also in an asteroid field, near a sun, or at a pulsar -- Long-Range Sensors say hello), considering the possibility of not getting any (other) weapons in stores of sector 1-3, keeping the Hull Missile is a better option IMO (sometimes shields-2 are enough to train crew, while the horror fights with rebel disruptor or shield virus auto-ship with offensive drones, shield/weapons hacking, strong weapons is a reality in FTL too).
    While there are good and not bad Distress beacon events in sector 1 (with a possibility of a store or a weapon as well), it is always hit or miss as well. Nothing is ever free in FTL, I say, except for hull damage, of course.

      I'm always on the look out for high missile count surrenders for Rock A, Slug A, Fed B and even Kestrel A to lessening amounts. I don't see the hull missile having much value after I nabbed the pike. Arty does the same system damage, a lot faster, and there wasn't a fight from that point on that I could point to that the Hull Missile would have helped.

      @@crowrevell2082 While I agree that there were no problematic ships that would have 'required' the Hull Missile (even an auto-ship had shield-3, drones-3, and weapons-2 in sector 3!), one of hard ships appeared after all ( ua-cam.com/video/04fAPUIHOO8/v-deo.html ): from 17 to 7 hull and had to run away to save oneself (could have lost zoltan crew as well). I had many of alike inconvenient, problematic enemy ships in several runs without systems and weapons, and the Hull Missile allowed to shutoff enemy offense considerably, or at least partially (if Artemis missed). Weapons-5, tank some damage to remove zoltan shield with Pike Beam, then shutoff offense and/or drone/shields, etc. Lucky that it was only 1 such enemy ship and the store (for repairs) was right there.

      @@outryder7773 That's sector 3. Entering sector 2 i'm already 100 scrap behind and i've been lucky thus far to maintain my survival at starting shields. I think "well, i'll just hope to keep being lucky for the next 3 jumps so i can hold onto hull missiles because there is 1 fight against a shield drone that missiles would be required. I don't think i could go "well, clearly my biggest threat in a shield drone and not hazard fights, fires in shields, flak into shields. Sometimes you have to weigh all the possible outcomes, and in some places it's impossible to know which is the more likely outcome.

      Btw, did you record the commentary stream with Mike, Farb, and Thomas? Sometimes I feel that even regular VODs are lacking the chat messages, which I find useful for new and veteran players and entertaining FTL-wise for me. That particular stream had very good questions and answers both voiced and in the written form. So if you decide to add chat messages eventually, that would be cool IMO!

    Damn, it really feels like you have a rigged version of the game to give you the worst RNG.

      A good chunk of it is other players would probably die, so they don't get to see the full run of trash RNG. On the other hand, as I said, between this run and the last 2 sectors of a stealth b run, i had the worst sector 1, the 2nd worst sector 2 (in 20 runs) and the worst sector 3 (in 20 runs) in a row. *shrug* Brutal runs like this have molded the way I play the game.
