The satisfaction involved with that process is unreal! Kudos to the subscriber who caught it 🧐 and kudos to Mat listening😎! Love it! Can’t wait for the Mansory video!!!
Yeah, but he said in the replies on that original comment that it wasn't it and he'd checked it. I guess he didn't check close enough! Great to see it sorted anyway.
And especially check out the first-in-the-World Ivermectin, Mebendazole and Fenbendazole Protocol in Cancer which has been peer-reviewed and published on Sep.19, 2024.
Mat has been letting out his sinister side lately, like scheming to rob people with unreturnable parts and snitching that he stole the tool from McClaren 😆. I like it.
Hi Mat Unfortunately the crimp connector you used is not a heat shrink version! Also soldering plus heat shrink is always 100% better than standard crimp as it’s a molten metal connection rather than two metals pushed together under force still allowing corrosion to take place. Sorry to be a nerd as I love your content. But it had to be said. Ryan
Hmm 100% you say. I would argue crimping has advantages over soldering when vibration is present. One of the reasons NASA chooses to crimp over solder.
Nah disagree. I've soldered and heat shrunk repairs in the engine bay before but they degrade over time with the heat and movement and end up breaking. Never had a problem with crimps and in fact some of the euro manufacturers actually recommend using crimp connectors for wire repairs.
You my friend are a genius at repairing damaged cars. You are my UA-cam celebrity by far. Great work on all your builds. I’ve watched all your 2+ hour videos of you repairing damaged cars.
Always check basics when it comes diagnostics it’s what i learnt as apprentice while working at bmw. People often throw parts at a vehicle and think it solves the problem.and honestly speaking always when I watch Matt videos always get reminded to check the basics. Great content bro 🔥🔥🔥
As a master tech. Most faults I've ever found have been wiring/connection faults (haven't been a tech for 15yrs) the amount of customers that used to bitch about being ripped off by a main dealer only to turn round and say they'd paid thousands to Fred in shed for ecus etc.... less than an hour later wiring fault found
Mat you should come to the Isle of Man, great driving roads and no speed limit in quite a few places😉. Brilliant videos as normal, keep it up. Living every boys dream
Mat you should use solder heat shrink sleeves instead of those red connectors. These things solder and make a waterproof connection all with a lighter or heat gun. Will last much longer especially in a wheel arch.
Totally agree, joint it once with the solder heat shrinks, rock solid . I thought Matt recommended using these ages ago on the front corner of another car repair. He’ll use them next time. 😁
I love my budgies took a few days off work I am just watching your videos listening to music and the little guys are just flying around chirping their little hearts out. I don’t need much a fun car my birds and enough money to take time off when I feel like it.
You actually did the right thing not soldering it as the resistance in the solder is different to the wire and can still throw out the sensor reading. 😊
Mat! Im cryin because your didnt use a solderstick! theyre heat wrap with solder in the middle for just such repairs. those red connectors are made of a very cheap metal and plastic outer coating. happy to see the mclaren another step closer to perfect!
If the ABS Sensor WIRE is stiff, it means either it has over heated or corroded internally. I am sure you have put it on the list of things to address during its next Service. As you know if one wire failed, and the wire next to it is close to failure with so few miles and time on the road, it hints at a Re-Call, and to check the other ABS Sensor harnesses for a similar condition. If one set of wires aged out, the others may as well.
A useful trick with re-assembly on plastic parts with metal screws, if you undo the screw until it goes click and drops into the old thread, then you can do it up using the old thread, this results in a stronger repair as you haven't created a second, third or fourth thread. Failing to do this results in a screw that won't tighten as there is no plastic left to screw into.
I remember that fella's comment on the video... He must watch the videos frame-by-frame to have caught that! Sensational team work, well done that man. I think those wheels are finally growing on me... And I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not! Car looks phenomenal anyway.

Mat. Get Sopoby’s. They actually have a heat activated seal at each end and a little ball of solder in the middle that will melt into the wires when heated. They are WAY higher quality connection. Particularly for exposed wires like that. Don’t want road water shorting those out
