I worked down there and I felt so bad for the tourists in their cars trying to slowly creep through the market with all the foot traffic. I think the market would be COMPLETELY FINE if cars were banned for those two blocks. People would still want to go.
It really should just be pedestrian only because it’s a market with multiple storefronts. Redmond Town Center did this years ago and it’s much easier to navigate whether you’re driving or walking. I believe that the friendlier the environment, even in terms of navigation, the more incentive people have to go visit that environment, so it’ll be better for business in the long run too Drivers can still get around, they’ll just have to remember that road is closed off As for deliveries, there should be some form of barrier that allows for verified drivers to enter to reduce any potential risk for pedestrians
Vendors before 8am and after 8pm, between the prime hours no; it's always confused tourist drivers anyway who look like they're ready to plow through the crowds.
Service vehicles, delivery trucks, first responders, all yes. That area won’t be expanded anytime soon but vehicles are increasing size one way or another with every new release.
Powerwash? With bleach and piss repellent. This place has reeked since the late 1960's!! No kidding.....parking/walking was a problem back then too-we just didn't have as many guns around.
I’m born and raised in Washington State. I went to Pikes Place Market once in 1979. I was greeted by drug dealers and bums demanding money or cigarettes. I’ve never been back. The only change is it’s worse today than back then.
Should be Vendor Only street. (permit required)

Absolutely not, the only exception is business related deliveries/pickups
Vendor traffic only - there needs to be traffic in order to service the market.
Only pedestrians
This needs to be settled already. Only confused tourists try to do this anyway. Only market vendors who NEED to use this street.
That guy whose against it is nuts. Delivery vehicles okay.
Cars out!!! Turn some it into parking and keep all the shops and flowers. Car are crazy!
These roads are unsafe for vehicles
Block them!
Make it like Europe……NO CARS!!!
Bingo!!! I wish the USA would make cities livable, and not just congestion/traffic traps.

I thought only junkies were allowed in pike place
Probably not… i remember bike dashing dealing with someone trippin with a car every single time..going to the starbucks.. or mexican food restaurant…
Not anymore from 9-6
Traffic aside, they also really need to powerwash the whole entire street.
They do early in the AM, but bums piss over the decades has added up lol

agree about Pike, disagree about the Ave.

How do you know it's worse if you haven't been back?
Wait...people still go downtown?
Yep. And most reports say downtown Seattle tourism is back to pre-pandemic levels.
is Maria working from home with the yoga pants & slippers?
Driving there makes absolutely no sense. Make it deliveries/vendor only.
Every Sunday we should ban all cars in Pike Place Market
Get cars out! Pedestrians in!
No cars, please
Rip ocean drive Miami
Bob Kettle has the mindset of Robert Moses; who votes for these dinosaurs?
Cars no early Delivery Truck yes.
Lifelong Seattle local here, I like driving through pike place occasionally just to fuck with tourists
That's pathetic TBH, I would be embarrassed to broadcast it
