We catch a lot of the Mantis here. I've never seen one thump anyone. I've heard some say they can split your fingers with their thump. I do know one fact about them. The Mantis shrimp has the best eye sight in the world.
I think the only reason Oliver got a bigger boat was to get Steph off her butt and do more work when it comes to de-heading those shrimp hahahahaha...I realize I'm a new subscriber and don't have any room to talk trash but it sure is fun guys lol
LOL! Everyone loves to have a little fun. I've had a lot of friends that've asked us about going out trawling and the new boat allows us to take them along to see what it's like. And I hope the new boat helps us to catch more shrimp. So far, it hasn't. Neither one of us have every had a problem with working.
Good Luck with the new Boat, need to keep watch on the leg and asso gears n bearings when using it to trawl n pull loads, speaking from exp here in Ozz. Great Videos showing it as it is.

We eat them, sell them, fish with them and give some of the small bait shrimp to our friends that use them for fishing or whatever they want to do with them.

That's right. Are you using a bridle and block. They are what allows the boat to turn while trawling.

I was using 125' on this boat. It depends on how deep you want to trawl. Every ft of water, 5 ft of trawl lines.
@@SaltyReflections thanks again. Im so frustrated with that bib line. I cant get it right. I folded my bib over right & left and it measures 17' to the top of ea. Door. So i added 17' of rope to the center thimble. And it still isnt right. Im gunna pin that bib back and forget about it. Im about ready to pour gas on it and go buy a balloon or semi balloon net. These professionals around here will not help a rookie once they see im commercial licensed.

We sell shrimp to people from other states that we meet here, but we haven't shipped any to people in other states.
Wouldn't you want to release the roe shrimp so the eggs can hatch and the shrimp population would increase? And why does it seem you're not in a hurry to release the fish back into the water?
