I am putting spindle bearings in my 81 k10 today, thanks for this video!
Great job Jeremy! And your lovely assistant Greg! LOL!!!!
Man thanks for this video. I lost a wheel on an old cj I had years ago. Really tore stuff up. I wish UA-cam had a love this video option.
You guys are great. I just learned a lot after all of these years. As we speak I'm putting together a new rig. Stating with bare housings. All new and improved everything.
jake sweet.
Excellent vid ! goes along good with How to shave a 14 bolt . Keep up the good work guys !
keep Jeremy around.. smart man. been doin this a while, you can tell just by how he explains things
Jeremy is like the Albert Einstein of Jeepin!
You have to love this channel... I know I do..
Man I'm so glad you talked about the seal
I may not own a D44 or D60 but that was really interesting. I had no idea. I do understand the importance of bearings & seals. I guess we just need to be more careful when doing that periodical maintenance.
So informative, awesome video guys!
Wish I seen this yesterday, back apart she comes.
Thanks for this great video Jeremy! Makes a lot of sense what your saying! i will be taking this with me the next time I do an axle rebuild. love the channel keep it up guys!
Awesome vid J. I have already experienced this prob, and solved it just like you did! Take notes newbies...
Really liking these videos!!
very good video Jeremy.
Put Greg in more of the videos
Thanks for the tips, I’m guilty of just bottoming the spindle bearing’s on my 44. And I too am like it must be my drive flanges leaking... lol
14x4nut Haha!!Try it out..
Good to see 1 ton stuff on the channel!
Thanks for the tip guys!
Awesome information great video, love it
Learned a ton from this video Jerome. Now where is the Scrambler walk around?
Michael-Michael Motorcycle soon my friend!!
Seems like smart money would whip up a spacer for that bearing out of the delrin.
Great video!!!
seeing this makes me wanna rebuild my Manuel hub kit for my d30 I LOVED having them tell my bearings went out so I went back to the uni hubs
I learned something tonight. Thank you
Great explanation!
Great video
Very educational information, and not bad at shooting videos either!💯💯
I have owned and torn apart a Dana 44 and two GM 10bolts and have never once seen those oil slingers. Shoot, I've never replaced a spindle bearing...in 100,000 miles. I'm finally doing it on my K5 and glad I ran across this video: slingers ordered. Living in Colorado, I guess a ton of people just throw those away.
glad to hear it helped!
Thanks. I’m getting ready to build a 79 kingpin and trying to collect as much tips as I can
Love this video. Even if it's a old video keep up the great tech
Huh. I just learned something before I replaced the bearings on my dana 50 ttb which uses dana 60 spindles and hubs. Awesome sauce
This video should be linked on every Timken SBK1 box.
thats great info, never used the said parts lol,, i will now, great video ,godbless
Boom ! That's how I remove my bearing seals😎
Love it been having this exact issue myself
These are great!
Finding Greg mysteriously working near Jeremy’s waistline made this video uncomfortable to watch. 😂 Now watch it again with that in your head. 🤣🤣
Great tips for when I get my d60
Awesome never knew, use to be a machinist makes perfect sense TY
That aint rocket science but damn near and Jeremy you the man! thanks for spaining that to us folk without a degree backyard mechanic'n or automotive engineering cuz I was sure cussing the Chrysler engineers this past weekend!!!!! parking brakes JK EXOFFFFXXXO SOMBITCH.
Very informative , thank you for posting. Great job guys, Matt should be proud.
Jeremy is on vacation right now. Anything to get away from the old ball n chain!! 😬
Edward Nunez Haha!!
Simone should make a spacer for behind the bearing so it's not put in to far
Thinking the same thing. BUT my stock in the Bearing company would drop.
Some of us love mud. In fact it’s all we have except for sand!!!!!!!
rofl that thumbnail with "BJ" in the corner...
Greg is a cool dude
Jeremy should make his own videos for the channel.
Isn't that what's hes doing here?
@5:13 , I have been doing that trick for 20 years!
Yea
I see an idea,,,, turn a steel spacer ring on the lathe to go in the spindle to act as a bearing stop. Assuming all the spindles are cut to the same depth. Then it's just drive the bearing in till it stops on the "bearing stop/spacer". Harder to screw up for the Matts in the world LMAO.
You guys are crazy ... I love it ... great change of pace from milk toast Matt
I didn't know Tony Hawk was into building Jeeps.... Where is the guy named Greg at....?...
Good video bud, ya need to use zoom though. Good information can become Great by zooming in on the item you are talking about. IMO. Thanks!
ryan ernewein I'll agree with you just now learning more about the camera! Thanks for the heads up
Great video and very educational!! Why doesn't Spicer, or whoever, make a proper length spindle bearing or at least a spacer that would always position that bearing and seal in the proper position?
Hold my beer ...
Is there a tool that will prevent you from seating the bearing too deep? Time to invent one.
I’d have given this 100 likes if you had shown how to get the spindle bearing out.
You can use a pry bar to knock the spindle bearings out from inside .
?my buddy offered me a V8 grand Cherokee with a bad trans is it worth a case of beer it's got small lift 31" bald tires on beadlock wheels looks like it would clear 35"s few dents but fairly clean
Could you guys please do an XJ 4.0 head replacement video? There is a video on the subject, but the guy doesn't show removal and replacement of the manifolds, which I'm told is the hard part.
ua-cam.com/video/_EIqvXLLIo0/v-deo.html
Great tip on the axle seals! Yehaw beer, really?
George Chambers Lol ANY BEER lol
That's the shizniz
Shaft, hole, penetrate, deep. Am I missing anything?
More !! You know what this channel needs is cummins power !
what prevents the bearing from slipping down while on the trail with all of the banging etc?
John Padilla it takes quite a bit of effort to tap the bearing in it's a super tight fit. It's not going to move from normal wear and tear of four wheeling. Taking the bearing out is a lot of work traditionally there in there good
Greetings from
NW South Carolina!
I am rebuilding the front end of my 1983 K5 Blazer. Because the spindle bearing looked like it was in good shape, I was going to to leave it. But when I put the channel seal up against it, it is below the surface of where the beveled washer will rest on (maybe 1-1.5mm below). Is there an easy way to pull the bearing up? I guess at that point, I might as well replace it. But how do you get it out to begin with? I think it would be a bear to hammer it out with a chisel or punch from the other side.
Thanks for a great video.
Scrambler video please Jeremy
Chuck Owens soon my friend!!
PLEASE do more vids like this (tips/tricks for ease or longevity) I personally would like to know the deal on crush sleeve eliminator kit installs, they worth it?
WoOsKii 1 The reason they are worth it is if you break a yoke you can just torque a new one on. And you don't have to worry about messing up your bearing preload. But they're very sensitive to set up so don't think you're going to do it very quick. The last when I did came down to the .001
+Bleepin Rose Thanks for the reply! somehow I missed it. Would you recommend using the crush eliminator kit? I need to do my first ever regear soon... I do understand the benefits (the crush sleeve can also further crush under heavy load, esp. on hills, and cause issues) but some kits have mixed reviews (bad spacer/missing or soft shims) Is it worth the extra set up time/effort for ease of future maintenance and the added durability? (I have a D30 + 8.25 btw) thanks again!
I say that they are worth it! Just can be real finicky to set up! The bearing preload is very sensitive! The last one we did we'd probably took it apart 20 times to get it right!
+Bleepin Rose Ok, you seem really knowledgeable so I'm gonna take ur advise, and if I can't get it(20 TIMES! = >40 for me lol), I can just use the crush. the kit I want is only $30, so definitely worth a shot. Also I didn't even realize the significance of being able to pull your pinion until you mentioned it! thanks again, and keep dropping that knowledge!
Darn you Bleeping Jeep. Now the stocks I own in American Bearing will drop. :(
I watched it
