Funny! Your video story is kind of like mine. I am currently saving to buy a Speedmaster Professional myself. I too love watches and I have collected several odds and ends to include some cool looking Swatch watches. I was very disappointed when I couldn’t find a Swatch/Omega collaboration Moonswatch when they first released. However, my daughter was just in Las Vegas over the 4th of July weekend. I asked if she had some time to please visit the Swatch Store in New York, New York Casino for me. She gladly did and she called me to let me know they did have a few in stock. After FaceTime and a few pictures back and forth, I quickly transferred some money into her account and she was able to purchase a Mission to the Moon watch. My wife is traveling this weekend to my daughter’s home in Colorado to pick it up for me. I am excited and cannot wait to open the box and have it on my wrist. Thanks for the video. Keep teaching me!!!!!!
Javier, thanks so much for watching and for the kind words! Congratulations on finally finding one! Now you just have to wait until your wife gets home with it. I bet you’re excited! Enjoy it! I hope it’s everything you want.
"I always thought it would be cool to own [an Omega Speedmaster] but never felt I could spend that much money on a watch. So it just remained a dream." Question: why not get a Bulova Lunar Pilot? Relatively speaking, doesn't cost that much more than a MoonSwatch, has FAR superior specs (to put it mildly), and has legitimate moon/space-related provenance.
I really like the MoonSwatch in a lot of ways, and it really shook up the watch world, but I just don't think I'll end up with one given how badly I want the real thing. Sure, this watch is only a small fraction of the Speedy Pro's price, but part of me would just feel like it's settling in some odd way, and every dollar saved is one I can put towards the genuine article. Weird as it is, I wouldn't own one of these until I've already got my Speedy, then it might be kind of fun to have one as a knock-around watch. That's just me and my weirdness though 😁. Terrific video, and I hope you'll do more conventional watch reviews like this, as well as your normal content! It creates a nice balance to the channel.
Thanks so much for watching! I totally get saving up for the real thing because I’m doing that right now also. I think for me getting the MoonSwatch just solidified for me getting the real thing sooner rather than later! Good Luck and can’t wait to hear when you get one!!
@@watchasilearn Thank you, and same goes to you! TBH, with the craziness that is current Speedy Pro prices, I am thinking I may go for a Mark II. It's got a cool vintage look to it, and I got the idea from Mat over on the Horology Biology channel. The prices on the Mark IIs are still pretty good (sometimes as low as $2k for a nice one), it's still a real vintage Speedy, and something a bit different from the norm. Best of luck, and can't wait for more stuff from your channel!
In the past we had dreams, now money is the only dream
Isn’t that sad.
