Speaking as a person who's life is always chaotic, watching this video, watching Ms. Martha, so calm, so organized, so knowledgeable, so assured, brings me such peace. I love her so much. I always learn something from her. I've been reading her cookbooks and watching different iterations of her cooking programs for the last 20 years. I love how she tells me the best way to peel a hard boiled egg. Even though I've been doing it all my life. For someone with ADD, it's wonderful to be bound by rules and minute directions to follow. I want Martha to come and run my life for me. She would be horrified at the mess I've made of it.
Never fear…to have such a figure as Martha to observe and learn from, you can use these things you find helpful to manage and nurture your own life and moments…Martha would be happy to know her work can help others in such a way…
YES PLEASE GET BACK ON television, we all loved your show ! Not just cooking, your baking, tips in the garden , even on our pets I cold go on an on how much we all Love an Miss YOU ! God Bless You!
Martha was giving us "aesthetic" years before it became a thing on social media. I also love how she doesn't waste anything, making sure all the ingredients are scraped from bowls and other utensils
Something that I’ve always appreciated about Martha is that despite being the epitome of WASPiness, she actually grew up working class and learned lots of techniques to save money and make small budgets stretch from her hardworking mother.
I have always loved Martha Stewart! I've been watching her since she started! Thanks so much for all your help throughout my life! I'll be 60 in February!
My father would add a Tablespoon of water with the fried egg, before putting the lid on the skillet. This would steam the white membrane over the egg. He called it a blindfolded egg vs a sunny side up. Thank you for all these tips! I never knew half of these tips. Your eggs are gorgeous! My father's mother, my Irish grandmother, always saved mashed potatoes. She made potato patties, Browning them after dipped in egg, they were always served with eggs. My favorites! My father took care of me all day aged three to five, while my mother worked as a Navy nurse in an Army hospital. He made a blindfolded egg put on toast with bacon. As a map maker he was very precise. He cut the egg into sixteen squares, three horizontal cuts, three straight vertical cuts. He made sure each square of toast had it's own piece of egg, and bacon. Then he would take me with him into the oilfields looking for shale in the core samples, marking the depth of the shale that had oil in it. He always taught me everything he was doing at work, and gave me a place to work on paper with colored pencils he sharpened by hand with a knife, shaving and polishing the point to precisely a point for me. He visited me in class through first grade, bringing me freshly sharpened pencils, helping me with my homework through third grade, teaching me mental math games, and how to be very precise, and neat while working.
I also learned that if you place a small amount of oil (maybe a 1/2 teaspoon, the oil makes the hard boiled egg much easier to peel! I tried it and it WORKS!!!!
Thank you! I'm learning the details. My mom watched you when started years ago and thru the years and up until she passed away. She loved you and Julia Child. Now I'm watching you to learn. I learn a lot from my mom but I don't practice. I'm so glad you started this cooking school on videos. I'm very excited! 🙏🏻 Thank you.
These eggs look so delicious I learned to cook eggs from Martha and others on UA-cam. Funny being raised in a strict Hispanic family these eggs would be considered wrong to them because they cooked eggs like so over cooked like it’s brown and very rubbery that’s why I didn’t l like eggs growing up but when I ate eggs the right way for the first time I became a egg lover creamy, fluffy that’s how it is done.
This particular show brings me back to when I was four/five years old and each morning Mom would make my sister and me a soft boiled egg with toast strips for dipping. So very yummy. I've heard people call this breakfast "Dippy Eggs", and I'm sure in other countries there are special nicknames for it too. There's nothing like that flavor of creamy cooked yoke mixed with buttered toast. A toast, to Martha: the domestic queen "egg"straordinaire!
We always called them Dippy eggs....so delicious. I have wonderful memories of my Dad serving them with sizzling hot bacon and the smell coffee in the air. Miss you Dad!💋❤
I love that Martha feels she has to tell me not to use a silver spoon.🤣😂🤣 I’ll have to make sure my butler takes note! Seriously, though - this was absolutely lovely to watch. I am going to try that frittata this evening!
Martha, I love watching your videos. Thank you for teaching us all how to cook eggs. I learned a lot from this and will be making eggs tomorrow to try some of your dishes. I really feel like my hubby will love the fried egg sunny side up. He loves a runnier yoke and I always feel like I overcook them. Thank you so much!
Love the explanation. I never over cook my eggs. Using a cast iron skillet when doing a scramble eggs, as soon as the bottom layer sets up, I turn the fire off and finish my egg using the heat of the pan. They are always soft and cooks just right. I do the same for eggs over easy. Right after the flip, turn fire off. The cast iron holds plenty of heat. Thank you Martha!!
You taught me how to make scrambled eggs about 15 years ago..been making the best scrambled eggs ever since! Can't wait to try the fried egg in the ring next, looks perfect!
Best boiled eggs recipe ever. Everybody always wants to put the eggs in ice water. Well I want to eat my eggs jammy and piping hot with butter. This is great and and absent of fear. Martha, you always make things look effortless and joyful.
Martha is fabulous, I can't get over how attractive she is. Her soft-spoken demeanor is just a pleasure to watch and listen to. If my classes in college were like this I would still be going to school.
Martha and Anthony Bourdain are still my favorite Chefs. Experts and Unassuming, to me they represent the best of America, with the exception of Julia Childs. RIP, Anthony...
Great cooking tips! So lovely to see that basket of fresh, colorful pastel Araucana chicken eggs! I miss our chickens, their happy cluck and of course the FRESH eggs!
I just discovered you can use your rice cooker steamer basket to cook eggs as well. And cook rice at the same time. I cook 2 cups uncooked rice (for 4 cups cooked). Put eggs in steamer basket, put on lid and flip switch. In 15 minutes rice is done, eggs are cooked. Plunge into ice water. While rice is resting peel an egg, scoop a bowl of rice, add butter and your egg. Great easy meal!
Nice video. Best variety of presentations of eggs l have seen to date. Yes, eggs are nice with salt+pepper. We Chinese sometimes add soy sauce to eggs if we are not using salt. You can also fry eggs+ chopped long beans. Or fry eggs+ chopped tomatoes, etc. Or you can make egg fu-yong.
Hey .. Miss Martha Stewart, and everyone else Moniee-Mon, is listening thanks for the info and videos. Keep doing what'cha do best God bless you 🙏 ❤ 💖 🙌 Monica Smith 🙏
There are literally countless good and great cooks/chefs out there....bt Martha is in a category by herself. Her style of handling the ingredients and even the equipment is so graceful and fluent, like a culinary rhapsody. Her voice and demeanor can put you in a trance...albeit over something so mundane. 🥰🥰
It is my belief that there is whole lot of practical of scientific application in kitchen cooking rather than mere academic learning in the science labs. Your way of explaining the underlying principle is simple and very effective. Immensely benefitted from your lucid explanations. Thanks. Have
Your presentation is Gorgeously done. I always enjoyed you because you present so beautifully. I'm 50 now, but I've been a fan of yours since my twenties. I'm so thankful I found your channel here. 💗🧁☕
Nice lady, well made eggs! Beautiful! My daughter and now my grandson like soft eggs poured in a cup and mixed with salt, a small piece of butter and small pieces of white bread. Spoon is better for kids than fingers!
martha i learned from a channel that for the best scrambled egg you cook it low low low heat it takes time to cook but its like butter the taste the everything is omg out of this world its just nothing like regular i mean the fire has to be low and i it can take long time to cook but the result is out of this world hard to believe till you try it so that egg you start before the bacon yes cause by time bacon is done its finally ready oh try it peoples its magnificent
Watched this video only recently, but thank you, Martha!! I know comments will sometimes put a little twist here and there on how to do things as well, but the bottom line is the small things matter and are easy to do! Small things like covering the pot, not cooking while water is boiling, and gosh darn it realizing that every minute matters, lol!! Before your video I ALWAYS had a fluffy hard boiled yolk, either light yellow or with a green ring, but too fluffy to enjoy. Powdery. Now, because of your video, I can make them so yolks come out a deep vibrant yellow, and CREAMY!! I LOVE the yolk now!! And I know about soldiers. (And the 4 minute egg is also my favorite.) That tidbit is very new to me. Thanks, Martha, for your relaxing instruction. People like you have helped me to love cooking!!!!
I love Martha. Her detail and love of food and cooking are perfect. I like her better than anyone who demonstrates how to cook. She comes into your home.
To get hard boiled egg shells off easily. When u put the hard boiled eggs into the cold water to cool them off, tap the shell all round the egg to break the shell under water, so that the gold water enters between the shell and the egg. This makes removing the shell easy and stops pieces of egg sticking to the shell as I just saw happen when Martha was peeling her hard boiled egg.
Even after you do all that you will still get at least one Egg that still has a piece or 2 stuck on the shell. Martha uses _Freshly laid eggs_ which will do that as she explained in the Video.
Hello Martha, greetings from New Zealand. You're a good person, i recognised that a long time ago, when, you know what. I'm older than you, and today i learned alot about eggs,(who would have thought) that i didn't know before. Thank you Martha. Robert NZ.
Very Interesting. I've been cooking eggs for more than 50 years, and I can't wait to try fried eggs covered-rather than flipping-for my breakfast tomorrow am. I'm a cast-iron cooker, so flipping is always dangerous. If covering will cook the yolk somewhat more than "easy," I'm really looking forward to it. Tomorrow Morning HERE I COME !
Thank you for this video. I feel like I've learned so much about eggs, that an official Certificate of Completion from Martha Stewart would be in order! (smiles!!)...I'm hungry, now!

Why in the world Martha does not have 10M followers is beyond me. She has always been way before her time. She's the grandmother of all modern cooking channels
Martha you are so good. I have been cooking all these but you are perfect.👍. May you be blessed. Yes what others are saying , I will also say , your voice is so calming and you are such a good teacher. But what I like of yours is that you go in so much details not from your point of view but from cooks point of view. ♥️. But I would request you to demonstrate 3 and 6 minutes soft boiled egg also. Plus if you can show Indian style omlette which has onions, ginger, green chillies, cilantro , salt and pepper as essential items and tomato as optional item. I am sure your demonstration will take it to a different level. All the best.
For the freshest eggs, study your chickens so you know their lay cycle. When they're about to lay, just hold the hen over your pot until the egg falls out, then boil.
Yay!!!!!!! My second all time favorite Martha series . Number 1 being Martha Stewart Living tv show. I LOVE 💘 the cooking school. Now I can revisit my cooking school 🏫 🍳 cookbook! I can't wait to see the other episodes! 🥰😍😘
Julia Childs taught that you hard boil the eggs for one minute, cover and then let them sit for ten in the hot water. I've had success with that method, and Martha's is not that different. I will try her method soon. It's wonderful that she's back doing these videos. Always informative and classy.
Martha I'm a big fan of yours,I always admire you how great your shows are and always watched and learned many things I was hoping you start the shows finally I found you on utube thank you so much whatever you do I'm so happy.
thanks! I was just trying to invent the wheel on hard boiled eggs. so far i learn the part about put in cold not hat water. I'm 7 min at rolling boil. But i think i will try your way next time!
